it was most likely 'Microfine Abrasive Paste" ive used Yorkshire Microfine Abrasive paste it looks the same and the finish is the same, super nice stuff.
Hahaha… yes, it’s a pot for coffee, a coffee pot. When you have sold as many pots and boxes as I have you learn that customers like lids to move freely and only wanky old woodturners get a tingle in they pants from a pop fit lid. Guess it beats a viagra ey ?
If always baffles me when people teach novice turners to cut spindle blanks down before turning.. you say it would save time. How long do you think it would take to make those cuts safely. Vs 30 seconds on a lathe with a roughing gouge?
Constructive criticism, you could have mentioned the type of timber and the finish you used. I gave you a thumbs up but a few changes to make it viewer friendly would be great. Thank you.
Because it’s entirely unnecessary. I have a lathe for that. Why would I do a dangerous cut on a bandsaw, which takes more time than turning, then take the piece over to The lathe and finish what I should have started on the lathe in the first place… ? Where is the logic in that ?
Look, your really being quiet silly with your critical comments.. silly because your showing your lack of knowledge and experience. Wire wool for burnishing is absolutely fine. But like anything you have to know how to use it safely. Never wrap around your fingers and never get it close to something it can catch on like torn grain, live edge or a chuck. See these nuances are the vast expanse between my 23 years professional woodworking knowledge and your what ? 2 years of watching UA-cam videos/ seeing the odd demo and spending the odd evening scraping firewood with carbide tip tools?
Beautifully grained wood, enhanced by the work here. Wasted on coffee though, when there’s a good mug of tea to be had! 😊
I hadnt realised that wire wool can make such a difference to your project 😮

Beautiful. That would make for a perfect container for storing green tea here in Japan.
I like it! Simple but gorgeous
Very nice lidded pot. The wood is spectacular. Well done!
Cheers buddy
Love absolutely everything about this. Wonderful.
Wow, thanks. ☺️
So pretty! Everyone wants to know what that wood is. Me too! It's awesome.
It’s London plane ☺️😉
absolutely gorgeous wood. nice work
Very nice piece. At first I thought it was Camphor Laurel, then Oak, not sure.
Lovely piece! While it may be London Plane in UK, here in USA we call it Sycamore.
It looks a lot like a piece of Indian laurel I turned once. Nice piece!
This is London plane. 👍🏻
Salam kenal dari saya pemula dan salam sukses ya ini pekerjaan yg sangat bagus terimakasih dari kawan baru ,
Well done.
Thanks 👍
Thank you
Looks amazing, that wood is amazing, what is it?
I just subscribed. Do you also do content on turning tools and sharpening?
Great idea !!!!! Magnificent wood. What is that wood?
What was the white gel you used for the finish? It came out gorgeous!
it was most likely 'Microfine Abrasive Paste" ive used Yorkshire Microfine Abrasive paste it looks the same and the finish is the same, super nice stuff.
Very Nice! Lace wood?
How many fluid ounces does it hold? Meant for coffee grounds?
👍👍👍
Very nice, can you put liquids like coffee in this pot? I mean, do you have to furnish with foodsave epoxy?
In theory yes. But you would have to look into how they finish kuksa cups for that one
What kind of wood are you using?
i wondered why the coffee pot had no handle; no spout.............. coffee storage jar !! with ill-fitting, non-airtight lid !!

I don't understand why you start with a square block. If you cut it to an eight facet prism, wouldn't that save time and make life a bit easier?

@@RedKiteWoodturning I did not say it saves time. It was a question.
It’s called the joy of turning.
You literally asked if it would save time and make life easier.
No cutting the edges safely takes a lot longer
@@1959Berreyes you did!!
what was the name of the wood
The wood is London plane 👍🏻
Alan
You scare me with the open band saw blade.
What kind of wood is that?
The wood is London plane. 👍🏻
Non male, ma avrei preferito che il tappo combaciasse esternamente con il vaso.
Looks like leopard wood
Wood? Sycamore?
I'm going to say Keroin ?
🤨
1:07: COULDA SAVED TIME BY CUTTING FOUR CORNERS OFF ON THE BANDSAW - AND MAKE CHOPSTICK RESTS FROM THE TRIANGULAR BITS
How do you suggest cutting the corners off ?? 🤣

Coffee pot??
It's to store coffee beans in
So it is only an ornament! Inside not sealed so you could not put hot coffee in it.

I always wonder why they don’t make the piece more round by taking the corners of on a band saw before they turn it on a lathe?
Because it’s entirely unnecessary. I have a lathe for that. Why would I do a dangerous cut on a bandsaw, which takes more time than turning, then take the piece over to

one of these days you will discover why to NOT wire wool on the lathe....... jus sayin

Can you do it or jou taking the easy way 🖕
Would you like to try a sentence that makes sense?
What "Tips"? The guy didn't even divulge the wood species! ...A Democrat??
BTW: I think it's Silky Oak (Lacewood).
