Awesome. good times indeed!
Kilimanjaro the tallest free stand alone mountain the world..welcome to Tanzania🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿
It was beautiful! Certainly worth the long trip.
1:22 to sit on a chair like that you definitely have to be a certain kind of cool. This guy is for sure
This is a very underrated comment.
Brilliant video as usual. Brought back great memories. Looking forward to your next adventure
Thank you, Mark!
Can’t wait to watch this. Your ‘documentaries’ are so great. Keep it up. You inspired me to do the Shimanami Kaido solo next month despite never riding a bike in 10 years; and I will trek the EBC one day too.
I appreciate the kind words very much. That's so great about you going to Japan. Honestly on all the places I've gone biking the Shimanami Kaido may be my favorite memory. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you in terms of tips and tricks. After that you'll take on the EBC. Good for you!
@@wordslikefire662 So I very recently completed the Shimanami Kaido and I would argue it had the some of the top landscape views I have seen across Japan. What a great experience. I also had a 'pale rider' equivalent (though my rental was a teal rider); though the saddle left me with a very sore ass at the end of it haha. Looking forward to your next adventure after this outbreak is over.
@@mapo5959 I knew the pale rider had a cousin! That's terrific about your Japan trip. Honestly, looking back at all my travel the Shimanami Kaido may be my most memorable trip. It has me wanting to do more biking trips. Although I don't know if I'll find one as cool as SK. Have you heard of the Friendship Highway in Tibet. That is supposed to be wonderful as well. I've had to cancel trips to China and Argentina because of COVID-19. Once things calm down I can't wait to get back at it.
Great video. I really like the idea of doing the Marangu route with the extra day for acclimatization. Sleeping in huts instead of tents is a lot more appealing to me.
Thanks! Marangu would be a great choice for you then. Taking an extra day will also increase your chances of making it to the top!
Very well done. I did Kili by the Machame route where we stayed in very small tents, which was not good. I wish I had done Marangu for the shelters. It rained every day except the last day where it snowed/ sleeted, and we stayed wet the whole time. I'd like to go again and hike the Marangu so I can actually enjoy it. I liked the way you explained everything including the shelters. Since Kili I did Everest Base Camp and Inca Trail to MP, both of which I enjoyed more than Kili. Loved the tea houses in Nepal. I'll watch your Everest video next. Thanks again.
Thanks. Sounds like you had a tough time with the weather. After the first few days I was able to avoid the rain. The huts definitely are very convenient. I'm curious to hear what you would have thought of Marangu. I loved EBC, it was amazing. You are right, the teahouses are great. I'm curious to know how my experience in Nepal stacks up to to yours. Thanks for watching!
This channel is brilliant deserved more subs 😊
I appreciate it!
been waiting for this!! worth the wait!!
Thanks! I hope you like it!
Wonderful nature
Another awesome perspective of a great travel experience. Mate I’m loving these journeys. You have Inspired me to get back into solo traveling. What’s your next adventure? Keep at it fella, good things will happen to your channel I’m sure. Great editing.
Thanks for such a kind comment. That's awesome that you are getting into it. See you out there on the road! Good luck and stay safe!
Beautiful mountain ❤

tyvm for sharing , i`m going up in 2022
You'll love it. Good luck!
Missing your upload brother not only the camera cinematic but the story behind it , hope uploas vid soon
I appreciate you! I'm hoping to get back out there traveling once this pandemic passes. I'm happy you enjoy the vids. I have some exciting things planned.
Hello! Very interesting movie and thank you! I hold you back with one question: what camera did you use to film? If you can guide me in this direction, thank you! I'm looking for a good camera for filming in the mountains and I don't know which one to buy. Thank you!
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The main camera I used for this video was a Sony A7R3. I have two lenses. The A7R3 is a full frame camera but you can achieve really good results with smaller 3/4 frame cameras as well. Sony and Panasonic offers a lot of great options that aren't too expensive. I'm sure you will make the right choice. Good luck on your traveling and filming!
Awesome
Thats so awesome! you might be the first Logan High graduate to ever climb mount Kilimandjaro. Which company did you use?
What an honor that would be! Go Grizz! I used a company called Tro Peaks Adventures. If anyone uses them make sure to ask for Valence!
Well done on this hike,i admire your courage to spend extra day acclimitizing because a group of friends did this route last week but didnt do the extra day acclimitization.Out of 12,8 made to summit. What carried you on summit day?
Thanks! It's true. You can't take risks on the mountain. Always best to be cautious.
MY HOME TOWN
Epic views man loved it .ur face got so much red :P Where are u going next ? any plans of asia this year ?
Thanks! I got got fried on that last day! I originally planned to go to China next month to see Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. However with the Coronavirus concerns still high I had to cancel it. In April I'm actually going back to Patagonia but this time I'm seeing the Argentinian side (Los Glaciares National Park). I hope to get back to Asia after that.
@@wordslikefire662 those avatar mountains look dreamy.would love to see your documentary on that someday .
@@robnsingh That's where I wanted to go! There's also a place called Tianamen Mountain that I was going to see. Hopefully once things calm down over there I can go back.
@@wordslikefire662 its looks so dope.epic find man .thanks for the share
First person to climb this mountain... watches this video from wherever .. his first thought is ..... what ????
I'd like do go solo.
Did you just have the one guide?
What outfit did you go with and what was cost?
Unfortunately solo isn't possible. You need to go through a trekking company. However You can choose to do a very light group. I reached out to a group that allowed me to simply go with a guide. And I'm glad I did since he was great. The guide also had a porter for him, but he didn't need to carry any of my things since I had all that in my bag. The group I used was tro peaks adventures. They are great.
@@wordslikefire662 ❤ thank you
My wife and I are seriously considering hiking Kilimanjaro. What month of the year did you go to Kilimanjaro?
I did my hike in January. Seemed like an excellent time to go.
Majestic!
⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️
COOL!
Great film, what did you use to film this?
Thanks. I used a Sony A7R III with a 24 - 105 lens mostly. Also had an osmo pocket for the shots you see during walking or time lapse.
God bless you
Thank you!
Did you take any altitude medication? And would you be willing to share your guide’s contact info? (Thinking of this route to do this summer)
I brought diamox with me and took it every day. Be warned you will be a lot. My contact's name is Valence. He was absolutely the best. I'm happy to share his email with you, can you message me on IG (kadencomadena)? I'd prefer not to just list his email online. If you do go then I would absolutely contact him.
super
If you had to go back , would you still take Marangu?
Maybe. Perhaps just out of curiosity I mean be tempted to try another route. However the convenience of staying in huts was nice. I don't think there's any bad option.
Welcome tz
It was great!
well guided
Thank you!
Awesome channel, new friend here
Thank you, thank you!
If u have done everest base camp, how hard it is compared to that?
I have done EBC. Overall, EBC was probably harder. But the final summit day on Kibo was harder than any single day on the Everest Base Camp trek. Kili was also much shorter to complete (5 days vs roughly 11 days).
I cannot find anyone to do the trip with maybe I need to do like you solo. i am 72 been to Africa 14 trips.
That's incredible. I'd love to go to Africa that many times. You may want to consider just joining an existing tour group. I think they offer spots that you can just jump on.
