I’m loving that you guys are building again. I joined you when you were building the container house. I loved that. Then when you were building Odd, i always waited eagerly for your videos to hit UA-cam. Now Sundays are special again with 3 builds in one. AWESOME.
Holy shit,,,,,,,,, Boat building and now I have to watch Van building and don’t forget the setting up of the workshop. Oh my god,,, I’m going to be flat out watching your videos no time for anybody else just your channel. All jokes aside the way you both talk about everything makes me feel it’s going to be a great journey for me to watch. Coz I love this sort of stuff 👍👍👍👍👍 Bye the way I’m from Australia 🇦🇺 and we just say it the way it is. Thanks for sharing guys 👍👍👍👍
I can understand why you are exited. What a great video. The tools and equipment are fantastic and just what you need. Love seeing all things together. I am so happy for you both. Keep well and safe. James
When you're building a workbench, you do indeed need to insure that the joints are all flush. If one of them is proud (above the other), then you could use your hand plane to take off the necessary material to bring it flush. Thanks for sharing the building of your new boat with us! I can feel your enthusiasm and am really happy for both of you! Good luck with everything.
Awe! So cute, the thumbnail.😍 I Love Christmas presents when it's not Christmas! 😊 I love all the presents too! The clamps and jigs you'll use forever in some type of way. I wouldn't get rid of any of them even after the boat build!! I'm so happy to see you have your aluminum, too!! Thank You for sharing your dream with me/the world! It's one of my happy places! ✝️🙏❤️🇺🇸🇧🇷⛵️👣🍍😊
💕 For sure we are taking all we can on the boat once it's ready, hehe. We are so excited to finally being able to see "our boat". Soon it's gonna gain the shape of a boat! We can't wait for it
Good to see that you are starting to build the boat! I miss an episode where you review the drawings for the boat and discuss which practical solutions you have chosen for the interior.
We still didn't talk about it as the boat is still in development and we are doing the interior by ourselves and we are gonna do mock-ups to try in place things before building. The only video we talked a little bit more about the boat was this one: ua-cam.com/video/FGLwyT44vfQ/v-deo.htmlsi=_WyqqwqlH2FPth1K
Roberta and Eduardo, that may be true that your first videos of the container home were 7 years ago, because 7 years ago I was in hospital for 9 months with cancer, and then I started following your channel, by the way, it was the first time I started watching vlogs on UA-cam, and I still follow your channel, even though I don't comment much i love your videos.
Great episode. I’m a big fan. I’m also a carpenter. And whenever I get new tools. I recommend using a permanent marker and writing your name and the date on every tool And not so much, because if somebody steals them. More so if one of your friends borrows one or if you’re working with some other guys, you can tell your own tools and it’s also great to look back after four or five years and see a date when you bought those. Steve 😊
A great start. I'll toss out a couple observations. get glue in bulk containers. Way cheaper. 100mm roller makes a good glue spreader. Speed is important. Wear gloves, your hands will thank you for keeping stuff off them later. Make a couple of wooden saw horses at the right height for you. You don't want to hack up those fancy ones. You will need a vice on that work bench. Get a 2m level. Nothing like it for a lot of reasons. Keep it in a piece of plastic pipe to protect it. Get someone at the yard to teach you how to weld aluminum. You will need to know later.
Really interesting and enjoyable to see how the truck with the plates was unloaded. I had never seen a truck roof that could be opened by stacking roof panels. And then the were plates attached to the movable hook-and-beam and lifted up just a foot or two before the truck driving off!
Omg ! Clamps! WOW ! I really hope those came free from sponsors because many of those uses can be done so much simpler without expensive molded clamp parts etc. Alas learning about the different techniques takes a few to many hours of watching YT chanels.... Been there done that myself. Hence still not built a boat myself. HiFive to you and big hugs love.... Im now subscribing... I only discovered you tonight. 😁❤️👃
Love you guy! Roberta, I hope you are feeling well and rested during your pregnancy. Please, give us little updates, and don't overextend yourself. Be well! ❤🇺🇲
Howdy, Good beginning, you guys. I remember when you started Odd Life. So one step at a time. With our best wishes, Your dream will come true. Raul and Joan Bryan, Texas
it is always so refreshing to see two people who are so happy and in love. Now that your head is in the clouds better bring your feet to the ground. I heard that a real Copper Penny can make a hole in the bottom on the boat through galvanic action. Also any kind of aluminum sealants can also cause corrosion and battery acid lives aluminum too a sealed battery is recommended for aluminum boats. Not sure about galvanic currents when you are at dock too. Hmmmmm better get everything right!.
Spectacular, your new work bench is truly amazing. Ducca, what a Christmas you had unwrapping all those wonderful clamps. Will you give us an update on the pregnancy, we are all so excited on how this is materializing. We figure your new baby will be born about the same time as your hull is finished? Is that an accurate assumption?
It's really good seeing you both back into constructing something and I'm looking to see what you do with your van as you may be able to give me some ideas for my house truck. I don't think I would want to make such a flash bench as you have as mine is a lot more basic.
The plywood carrier is very useful but the plastic version will eventually break. I made my own version from metal and it never breaks and I use it all the time.
We here in the US call those you are calling a portable work bench a saw horse . You set them up to hold wood planks so you can cut them or. Or you.can use the as a work bench and many other uses.
That is going to be one super duty bench, probably strong enough to hold your boat up while it's at dry dock during pre-commissioning!! 🤣🤔 I'm curious to know what exactly is the plan to do with the beautiful shop you built, once your van interior work is completed?
Instead of gluing the workbench, you should have screw it, just in case you need it to take it apart, for transporting it. And it would have been stronger.
PU Based marine glues are perfect solutions for sticking wood in non standart environments. It cures ıtself even if in cold and wet conditions and holds like there ain't no tomorrow
I love your new boat. But for now it's a "flat" boat that won't float very well. It won't go anywhere. Let's see how the Meta workers will manage to transform this pile of metal into something that floats! Congratulations for your hard work building your workshop.
Good video ! The generic name for your "Track Horse", is a saw horse. I like the hair thing, do you call that a hairaclava, or are you going for the Jesus look ? ✌
urgent!!! -- DANGER -- YOU must be careful @01:50 you are wearing a long loose sweater and your arm acrossed in front of the spining blade - that could easily have sucked your sweater in and then your arm would be badly cut or amputated. LOOK ON youtube to see that exact injury. NEVER wear long arm loose clothes or long sleeves near tools. It is better to get a cut on skin than get sucked into the blade by clothes.
First price to build it. Second price to maintain it when it’s ready (marinas are more expensive, maintenance…). Third there is a lot of space but it’s very sensitive to weight, you cannot put much weight if you want it to sail well. Also, monohulls usually sail better upwind. It’s Roberta here, I think these are all my points of view about it. Of course we did consider it in the beginning, but we wouldn’t have money for that. The catamaran we would like to have in aluminium would be too expensive for us and we can’t afford it.
@@OddLifeCraftingOMG, I just watched your latest video, and you're pregnant. I'm going to go back to ya should have done what ever it takes to go catamaran. Hello Photize. To be honest I think we should answer your comment as our finances are our finances but if you got wrong more people might also get wrong. OK, things are starting to look interesting. 7 months to build the hull? I've got to see that!
The plywood carrier is very useful but the plastic version will eventually break. I made my own version from metal and it never breaks and I use it all the time.
Having used a table saw forty years , I now know what that thing is called, a pushy stick 😂😂😂. ❤❤ to you both
Ta braaabo! Keep going. Abraçao do veleiro Baco
I want to see this new construction method you talked about. It must be hard for sailors like you two to be stuck on dry land.
This is so exciting! Everyone is building an aluminum cat! ❤
Good to see it coming together, but, Duca, there is a saying amongst "chippies" (carpenters) and that is 'Less Lippy, More Chippy'! 😀
We here in the US call those you are calling a portable work bench a saw horse . You set them up to hold wood planks so you can cut them or. Or you.can use the as a work bench and many other uses.
On the bar clamp the end is removal so you can use them to push instead of pull clamping
Imagine a workbench that attaches to the inner wall of the workshop- that can be taken outside and attached to the outside wall of the workshop 😊
You guys are just crazy kids at heart ❤️😂

Bom dia Roberta e Duka.😊😊😊😊😊

Hi do you know from where they ordered the slumium plates?
Are these pre cut panels and just putting together in the shop?
I would love for my Christmas to come on a pallet :)

Check polyurethane wood glue. Quite bit better for projects like that table with help of some water spray :)

monohull or catamarin?

Really, Really, Really. Now let the fun begin. Really, Really, Really.
they need to show us their 'break-time' riding the motorcycle & bouncing on the trampoline!
your tools.... my dreams....
🥰
Instead of using masking tape between glue up layers, try using waxed paper. Cheap and easy.
Instead of gluing the workbench, you should have screw it, just in case you need it to take it apart, for transporting it. And it would have been stronger.
hi Roberta and Duca did you received the barometer I send you to Meta?
Hi Jean! Yes we did. It is in our shelf in the house we are currently living. 🥰
A man cannot have too many clamps! But you have to be able to store them so you can get to them! Any plans?
Roberta, you are so pretty Duca is a lucky man
Somebody needs a haircut! Great to see the boat materials arriving.
De qué vives?

You are a nice couple 👍, please make sailing-videos or videos about building a sailing vessel. The rest is not so interesting.......
You’ve done a nice job of the table, but a bit over the top just for a work. Bench.

If possible do not keep the tools in the workshop during the night, they might get stolen. Just a tip. Good luck.
We live in a small town in France that is really safe. We are gonna be okay with the tools there 🥰
O cavalinho de madeira significa que estão pensando no futuro? kkk
You can never have enough clamp.
Meu Deus, eu creio, adoro, espero e amo-vos. Peço-vos perdão para os que não creem, não adoram, não esperam e não vos amam.
did you know that all woodworks have the same number of clamps? NOT ENOUGH!
Hello where your boat red ? Very hot old boat

we needed counter in the top corner for how many times we said clamps this episode haha.

Otros 3 años de trabajo para venderlo en 6 meses..
