It is very interesting to watch. I thought there must have some rich in the past wanted to use ice in summer time but I did not know how they got it. Science has made life really good for common people and they can enjoy ice all year round now!
Very detailed video, if you want to read more about the ice trade a great magazine can be found on google books, " Ice & Refrigeration " it covers both natural ice and refrigeration ( ice plants and such).
Back when I was a kid, I remember seeing an article on the web about the last ice plant in New York City. And how they would deliver large blocks of ice to people who had ice boxes. These ice boxes only had a light bulb inside so that when you opened the door, the light bulb would turn on. So that you could see inside. I researched it and found out that back in the olden days they had crews of people that would go cut the ice off the surface of lakes and transport it all over the world. Since I was little kid, I remember seeing these bars called ice houses. However, I was too young to drink and I found out that ice deliveries were made to those places in order to keep their beverages cold.
Now THIS is a CRIMINALLY underrated video. Holy shit. Edited well, good voiceover quality, great content.

I think in the 1930s, ice was mostly plenty in bars for cocktails but usually for rich people. Now any guy can get ice at McDonald’s
But in ancient ancient time how did they created ice in deserts in rasjasthan
I'm sitting here drinking cranberry juice with ice and I'm thinking damn how did people do it back then when they had a hot drink but no ice
