  • What to say had this Touratech tool box on this and my previous R12OOGSA so it fits right hand and left hand. The brackets for right and left hand comes when you buy your box.Has had my bits and pieces stuffed in for years never used anything out of it for myself, but have used the strap to tow a bike to a petrol station. Jump started another bike, and blown someone's rear tyre up. Like to think they would do the sam for me. The rubber seal on the door makes it water proof never found a drop of water in it. You really don't know it's there. They say if you carry it you will never need it, if you don't you will need it. Well that's fine with me.

Yes, a good little addition. I'm surprised what you can pack into it.

Same here but side stand biscuits are in top box, had a few for when we went camping. And that reminds me I lost my pliers the last time I stopped to help someone. Cheers Andy.

Biscuits are for scoffing, pucks are for side stands 🤪 I prefer to keep my puck in trouser leg pocket, so it’s easily to hand. 😉 I fitted a cheaper eBay copy version with no probs, does the job

Have you ever had any issues with the rear mud guard hitting the box?

No, I never have not on the 1200 or 1250. You have to put the door on and off in a particular way. To avoid the pannier frame but not a problem.

@@kengsadventure1806 thanks for the reply, maybe I wasn’t clear. When the toolbox is on and the bike impacts something that pushes the suspension to max does the mud guard attached to wheel touch the box. The touratech instructions say that it should be removed. Is that right?

I've never had it hit the mud gaurd. On road off road fully loaded with more camping gear than I needed, two up. I've just measured the suspension would have to go down 240mm to hit, and at that, the tyre would be rubbing the under side of the wheel arch. This is on a R1250GSA. Hope this helps.

It's made for the BMW adventure range of bikes with the metal pannier brackets.
