    Considering the issues I’ve seen with both those product and the aric, I think the product has a long way to go before it’s a practical replacement for the standard buffer system ESPECIALLY for any serious use. I’m also curious as to the long term review of the system. New is novel, and most times we give a pass to novel things when we wouldn’t give that same pass to a standard ar, or after the novelty wears off

      @@CalebDowning seeing that it cycles on its own but fails to go into the battery when charged manually makes me think that maybe with the two different set of springs that it has you would need to apply some extra force at the end of the charging handle travel to make sure both of the set of springs get compressed all the way.

      @@CalebDowning heartwarming to hear that it is working better now after being broken in, this is an amazing innovation and I really root for it to succeed, hope they are also able to ramp up the production so people won't have to wait two years to receive it. I know ammo is expensive but if you're going to test new products, please start using better ammo. You run the weakest steel cased stuff, so when problems arise we can't tell if the product is flawed or it's you using weak ammo in arctic conditions. Right now, steel vs brass prices are negligible.

    I remember a company marketing a bufferless, folding stock AR with the recoil spring located on top of the upper receiver that extended into the barrel hand guard. The rail was slightly higher to make room for a larger diameter spring. I wish I could remember the name, but it worked flawlessly from what I remember. I think its downside was the proprietary upper.

    Just got mine installed today. They're doing really, really good on delivery times, I got mine 2 weeks after purchase, and it seems like they have 10 in stock at the time of writing. If anyone is put off by the malfunctions in this video my quick review is I'm not sure if they've upgraded spring strength, or my ar upper is better quality than this guys or if its that mine is chambered in .300 blk out. But i haven't had a single chambering issue or malfunction with this bcg. This thing works beautifully. Dropped it in and didn't have any problem. All I can really say is give it a try if this is something you really want to do.

    Lot's of potential here, just needs lube, and gas tuning for whatever you intend to shoot with it. Some of your cases looked pretty well at 1330-1400. Some good lube would probably help the bolt to go all the way forward. I see how this system could easily be made to work reliably... I want one.

    Just stumbled upon this video, and I have a couple things I'd like to throw out there for you and the other folks here. The bolt they sent is a fairly cheap bolt. Milspec is C158 not 9310. The extractor also shows that they use a crappy spring evidenced by the fact that they installed with a spring, donut, and insert. That should only require 2 of the 3 (spring + insert or spring + donut). Definitely looks like you should have lubed it before the test, never take a bcg out of the box and run it dry. The other thing is you're going to have short stroking using cheap steel case, it's just part of the game.

I know LAW says otherwise but I would like to know WHY you cant exactly, plus I don't trust those statements given conflict of interest since they would like all of us to use their expensive and heavy folders. Mixing and matching, if it works and if you test it, would give a lighter weight, more affordable and more available option, tentatively. Fingers crossed, huge thanks again, and Merry Christmas 🎄!

    Now this isn't coming from experience, as I only just got my adjustable gas block (agb) and still need to tune my own rifle but from the heavy research that I've done; this bufferless bcg seems to like gassy systems if you pay attention to the ejection pattern. However there were one or two bits that seem to contradict that (the 16 inch gun and not locking open some times)... But otherwise it seems to like gassy systems and has good ejection patterns right out of the box with the agb fully open or standard gb, from what I could tell.
    But one thing that was pretty interesting was the fact that there was more forward ejections from unsuppressed/longer barrel and gas systems, which is a normal symptom of suppressed/short gas system arms. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I am human after all. It seemed to do the exact opposite when you pay attention to the ejection pattern. This is why I think maybe I'm understanding something wrong because it's defying normal theory on the ejection pattern and causality. However I have no idea what kind of hardware is being run in these guns which could be making all the difference. I'd like to know what other people think.
    Thank you so much for the video and I hope to see more.

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Рік тому

      The 16” rifle has an adjustable gas block that is tuned for suppressed, steel cased ammo(generally underpowered), with a Vltor A5 buffer system. That would be one major factor in why it behaved differently and out of the “norm” for a 16” gun.
      I have noticed that it is more difficult to get this system to exhibit the traditional “over gassed” symptoms. It will eject forward if 3 o’clock but not as drastic as traditional systems will.
      I’m honestly not sure man, but that’s some very astute observations. It’ll be interesting to see what others say as well 🤔

      This guy can have the same issue. They sent out a heavier spring and that seemed to help out. Also I’ve been shooting this system as regularly as I can and I think it’s simply breaking in and working better now.
      If you insert and full magazine on a closed bolt and then rack the charging handle, it will still be a little sluggish from time to time and not fully seat. However, if you lock the bolt to the rear and then drop the bolt instead of charge the handle, then it chambers that first round much better.

      To answer your question though… I do have both systems but I prefer the EWS. The problem with the EWS is that your looking at a potential 2 year lead time 🤯 The Law Tactical ARIC will be easier to come by but it’s not as good as the EWS in my opinion.
