This model was screaming out for your trademark detailing Neil. Must get round to a decal manufacturing demo. Final result was to your usual high standard, loved it. Thank you for continuing to entertain us. What’s next? 🧛♂️👹😈👍
thanks Tony glad you're still enjoying them numbers have fallen of a cliff lately but I'll persevere, keeping it black country with a guy flatbed next 👍
That is the best Dinky ambulance restoration I have seen, that is truly an awful casting that requires a lot of fettling and detailing to look right. You nailed it..
I bloody love when you open something up for the first time, and the wheels just fall out! What a relief! And I do quite a bit of work with Land Rover, so the Midlands accent is not so bad! 🤭 The only thing on that casting I don't like is the filled quarter-light windows: the temptation to drill those out is one I'd not be able to resist, though it does leave the A-post and door frame quite vulnerable. Lovely entry to the Challenge, Neil, and a great save!
thank you ,i agree its great when you don't have the shall I shan't I debate and the wheel just come off I did consider drilling out the quarters but I had one eye on PJ's dead line and quite a few had posted their dinky's so i thought i'd better get me finger out
That's a lovely finish I've restored one of these it's in my cabinet and I've another two to do nice simple casting,I can recommend the Pilot super colour silver pen for grills and bumpers it gives a great finish and you can pump a bit out of the tip ,I'm not a big fan of molatow it takes forever to cure 👍
Thank you glad you liked it I’ll try one of pilot silvers I had been using culture hustle mirror chrome but it expensive and sometimes hard to get thanks you for the suggestion 👍🏻
Very smart 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻.........Pretty as a picture, in fact. The original schemes are a little dull, to my mind. I did mine up as and old LCC ambulance, before it became London Ambulance Service. We had one stored on our station for a while...... I seem to remember it had a concrete floor!
Thank you, I felt the same hence the Whitby focused make over , I was told that they used slate beds for the floors to pre load the springs and smooth out the ride from the harsh suspension
@@hellboy1959 ......more likely slate, yes. And that was the reason. When I started, we had the Bedford CF with a fibreglass saloon, so light you could practically pick it up with one hand.
Thanks Martin I have seen some of the white ones , I think this was a cream one despite the overpaint inside the case was cream, the casting sure was crude though that’s for sure
Fantastic restoration I have subscribed can't wait to see more of your restorations 😊
Thank you so much hope you enjoy more of my content
Great job you made of the Ambulance. Worth all your effort.
thank you glad you liked it, it was a nice old bus and deserved a makeover

Like it Neil with the extra detailing, those were rough castings right out of the factory thay did 2 versions one in white and the other in cream
Thanks Martin I have seen some of the white ones , I think this was a cream one despite the overpaint inside the case was cream, the casting sure was crude though that’s for sure
Well done
Cheers Mick 👍🏻
