      Anna Leigh needs to be playing tennis full-time. The USTA needs to get with her and her parents about her playing in one of our country's tennis academies. She has all the skills needed to be a top 50 tennis player. Pickleball is fun but there is a lot MORE money in tennis.

      @@mrbobevans That could change. The Pickleball people should market her the way tennis marketed Chris Evert. She's cute and personable, really talented and competitive, and could be the face of the sport for a long time.

    I am new to Pickleball and trying to fully understand the NVZ violation/fault rules: At 9:55--10:05 minutes into the video; Sobek (guy in red shirt) steps into the NVZ before the ball lands (...the ball eventually lands outside the Kitchen) ...he steps back out of the kitchen when he realizes the ball was NOT going to land inside the kitchen. Like I said..the ball eventually lands beyond (outside the kitchen). Was this a FAULT that was just not noticed or called? TIA for any explanation.

    • @PickleballChannel
      @PickleballChannel  5 років тому

      Hi Robert, thanks for watching. At 9:57 ish, Sobek pushes off the NVZ as he moves back to get a ball. It is a ball that bounces, so because he hits it on the bounce, there is no fault. Then at , approx 10:06 he runs to the side to get a ball and his foot drags through the NVZ. This is also a ball that has bounced so there is no fault. A video that might help a little is this one we made clarifying the NVZ rule - The Most Complete Pickleball Non Volley Zone Rule Video - Pickleball 411 ua-cam.com/video/xGfLXDTzJck/v-deo.html and also this other one Three Myths about being in the Kitchen - ua-cam.com/video/QacxhVqHzvY/v-deo.html Hope this helps. Keep on playing.

      Really? How many let out balls would you have noticed without the commentator mentioning it (Game 1)? That is part of the strategy against bangers but isn't obvious or easy to do(too tempting to hit the ball that is in fact going out)

      Wish we could! Not every gold match was available for broadcast on the Zing Zang Championship Court. This actually ended up being a filler match because another gold match was determined forfeit. Probably the gold match you are looking for was played in the morning when we weren't broadcasting yet during the day. Thanks for watching the matches we do have available. If you think you want to see a certain match next year, let the organizers know. They do a great job of listening to feedback.

      It's easy to laugh if you have never played it before. if you just walk in there you realize it isn't so easy to keep the ball in the court. You also probably don't understand why people are hitting the ball low and soft. You have to avoid getting the ball too high or it will get smashed at you. So all of those soft shots have a purpose.
