This is what’ll happen:
1. Belal beats Leon for the 170 lb. belt.
2. The UFC dissolves the 170 lb. division & creates a 175 lb. weight class.
3. Belal is stripped of the belt.
😂😂😂
And strips Belal in the process lmao that would be so perfect

In actuality a 165 pound weight class would benefit so many fighters from not doing these drastic weight cuts.
Not really. Fighters in every weight class are rehydrating 20lbs for an advantage
@@zealpulses3826 while some cut 30 lbs like dober and turner
you think a 165 pound weight class will stop fighter's from abusing the rules to gain any advantage whatsoever? These people do it to WIN. Adding a 165 weight class is not going to stop people weight cutting, just like it aint stopping people from doing PEDS. You need hydration tests if you want to get rid of weight cutting.
Not really, it would mostly be current 170lbers that can cut that extra 5 lbs
@@SafariFerrari one fc had a perfect way of doing it but the ufc would never do it 👎 I do see your point that your making though but it would benefit fighters imo

2 questions.
Should the BMF title not have any criteria to be eligible to compete for? IT has nothing to do with weight or rankings.

No Belt from people coming off losses and Conor won't stick around long.
Been saying for a LOOONG time now that 170 should be split into 165 and 175. Would just make sense to have 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185, and even a 195 pound division.

A 15lb weight gap has always been too much of a jump. It was acceptable when mma was small but UFC has absorbed so many organizations, they HAVE the roster to make the belts every 10 lbs. There is no reason not to do this.
The weight classes in MMA have been discussed about before. It should be every 10 pounds. 125, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185, 195, 205.
😊
Best Duo in MMA fellas!!
I do like the idea of a 165 division BUT Conor and chandler are not the guys to fight for the vacant belt for the exact reasons chael has mentioned….. but I can still see UFC doing it for the reasons DC MENTIONS
Audio is on 🔥 for this one sone
Didn't dana already say the bout agreement is at 170 pounds?
Chael totally dominates this show and outshines DC!
LONG LIVE THE BAD GUY!!!!
There are a number of fighters now with the tag of "best fighter to never win a belt" status eg Poirier & Covington.
Do you think it's now time to add divisions like 165lb,175lb & 195?
So many fighters trapped in weight classes but still under/oversized over the above and below divisions.
Could there be a case for new divisions if there is too much of 1 particular skillset that dominates top 10?
The lightweight top 10 has 8 fighters that can strike but are mostly all grapplers by trade so chances are any new striker that breaks into top 10 is unlikely to progress due to the high level of grappling that exists currently.
It was so good to see RC again. While the combo of DC and Chael is great, RC was the fans voice on the show and as he learned about the sport we learned. If we can have that perspective more often, it would be appreciated.
Great idea. This would also create an environment where we can see a lot more cross-over between lightweight and welterweight. Let's get it done.
If UFC does start a new division - I would rather see a grand prix style tournament for the strap. I am not interested in seeing Chandler and Mac fighting for a new belt. I love the fight - just not the idea of starting a new division with it.
Conor McGregor have a special place in Dana White Heart, why? Because like it or not he changes the game in UFC AND THAT IS A FACT.
It was so good to see RC
Any UFC events coming up in London, England?!?
155: Lightweight
165: Welterweight
175: Middleweight
185: Cruiserweight
There's no room for more divisions. Championship fights are on PPVs not fight nights. UFC has no reason to pay fighters for more than 1-2 title fights per PPV (more often 1). Champs are already averaging less than 2 defenses a year due to the limited # of PPVs vs existing divisions.
@@rajkhan9643champ co mains go hard
@@rajkhan9643just a trash opinion from beginning to end, there’s definitely room for another division and additional PPV events throughout the year, some months have two PPVs so why couldn’t we have a couple more, more PPVs = more money, why couldn’t there be more championship co mains as mentioned earlier, there can be a restructuring of the belt and division layout if it’s planned properly, chandler vs mcgregor wont be the fight but eventually there will be an additional weight class between 155 and 170
@tylermorris5993 if your ideas would make the UFC more money they would have already incorporated it. Do you think you know more about how to run a billion-dollar business than the powers that are currently running it? 😅 So Dana and Hunter have "trash opinions" according to you? There are not enough fans of the sport to pay $80/PPV if they start having them even more frequently. And UFC won't increase their bottom line by paying additional PPV points for more divisional champs because the additional cost won't exceed the incremental revenue (which is already at max, not many people willing to pay $80/PPV for more events than we currently buy. This is coming from a fan who pays for every single one).
@@rajkhan9643 I think you’re unaware of how big the UFC has become, that’s cool that you buy every PPV but more people watch the sport than ever and it’s continuing to grow, at some point Dana and Hunter will either change the structure or when they’re gone somebody else will, the growth of the company will at some point be limited by the amount of content provided but they haven’t reached the saturation point yet, that point increases as a function of fan base and the trend is upward, there’s room for exactly one more belt and even if it comes in 5-15 years it’s still going to arrive, sliding in a couple more PPVs and popping up a few more PIs will expand the reach of the UFC and incremental revenue (which is not at a max) will likely fluctuate but will result in a net gain in the long run, this is coming from a fan who watches every PPV, a lot of fight nights, and knows how to run a million dollar company (can’t say I know how to run a billion dollar)

DC and the Bad Guy! My wife and I love the show and been watching both of you since we been together (7 Years) on all your wonderful shows. We have been now 2 years clean and sober and my question is this... What advice do you have for someone dealing with addiction and what outlet would you use on the days that may be tougher than others?
Ty and enjoy the show and laughs you have been giving us for years!
I think a 165 lb. Belt is exactly what the
UFC needs seeing that the talent runs so deep in the lightweight division
DC is the type of guy that will say he would never lose if the universe wasn't created
It wouldnt make sense to have 195 and 205 without 185, the gaps should get larger as the weight goes up not have an awkward space
Great duo… finally a colleague that DC respects and can be checked by. DC needs that. Phenomenal duo
Two legendary fighters Uncle Chael and DC. Let's go 💪🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good to see RC back on the show!
I absolutely love entertaining ideas of how the ufc can expand more. I like making a 165 division and new opportunity for a belt.. a lot of fighter will jump into the new division. Especially since it’ll have a broad span of feather weights through welter weights. And drastically some bantams and middleweights could make 165… and then as a safety factor top ranked guys won’t be afraid to fight in the new divisions it won’t effect they’re original weight classes ranking. Not that they can’t use that to their advantage now and fight up or down. But I see a lot of potential in adding divisions. At least bring back female featherweight with Amanda now that a few females are calling for it 🤷♂️
Man when it comes to yapping no one comes close to chael😹😹😹😹😹. AND I LOVE IT BTW😂😂
Ufc would be crazy not to run with this and add more wait classes ! Makes the ufc bigger and more interesting
I think CHAEL should make a bad guy inc video on Spencer Lee winning again
155
165
175
190
205 or 210
This way the gap is not dramatic at 20lbs after 185 to 205. That’s about 10% difference. Having 15 lbs gap at a higher level is better as a percentage of total weight. If they want, they can maybe adjust to make the gap to 210 for light heavy weight?
If they make a 165 Title they should have a card where 2-4 fights happen and winners move on.
I think ufc should do 155 165 175 185
If they were gonna create a 165 division with McGregor vs Chandler for the belt, they should have done that at UFC 300 as the headliner. That would have been the wow factor perfect for the milestone event.
Question - In 10 years what 2 active fighters (at the championship level like yall) could you see hosting an MMA show together on espn similar to Good guy / Bad guy?
Idk how I feel about gold gloves...
If you're fighting someone with fast hands under those bright lights, would it change your ability to see punches? never fought professionally, but you have to wonder. black is much easier to see in contrast with the white canvass and with that lighting. feel like that gold may blend too much in that setting.
Love having RC on man fr it’s good to have that fan perspective

topuria wants to fight for the bmf but hes gonna be diving for the legs by the 2nd round
I like the idea of doing 125,135,145,155,165,175,185
change 170 to 165 and add 175. You will be able to get quite a bit of movement and make some super interesting fights.
155,165,175 theoretically you will get fighters that can potentially compete in all 3 weight classes. You will have some that just cant and will only be able to make 1 of those classes some that can only do 2 of them. But it would be interesting man and free the UFC up to make a lot of interesting fights across those 3 classes. Someone like Ilia Topuria being able to easily fight Justin Gathje would be super interesting or have him against Arman. You would also have had like a younger Colby able to be fighting Dustin Poirier when they were both coming up.

Making the BMF title lineal, and only one BMF title, you start to run into a problem. Max Holloway might be the BMF from 155 and below, but heavyweights, and Alex Periera might have something to say about that.

I love the idea of a 165 and a 175 lb division to replace the 170 lb one. I understand that 170 has a lot of history and three grand champions (Hughes, St. Pierre, and Usman), but the history will still be there.
Will it happen? I'm pretty sure it will, but it won't happen on a whim. There must be a demand for it. I'm guessing that one of the UFC media partners is going to want it and will offer the UFC buckets of money to open the division. Think ESPN or a wealthy Saudi prince or something.
My one request is that the 165 division not be called super lightweight. In English, super light means very light, not heavier than light. I hope someone in the UFC office knows English well enough to point this out.
155 lightweight
165 welterweight
