He's the type of offensive that some can't get offended by cause most of what he says is amusing anyways. You'd have too be the other sensitive type of people to find it offensive like the ones who didn't understand him or where he was coming from in the first place. Some of what he says is based on what he went through But other stuff he says is just a creative way of getting back at people and also just having fun with his Ryhmes.
@@patrickschrag3200 idk what world you live in but eminem was politically incorrect, which means he didnt hold back his humor and was raunchy. Ofc people were offended. Idk what reality you two people live in where people werent offended by what he said or did.
@@steverogers6572 First of all I never said people weren't offended by what he says in his music, I said "some people aren't as easily offended by his music as others are". You either read it wrong or you might be living on your own reality. Anyone who listens to old Eminem knows about how he was and yes he is rapping about his life even though atleast some of it is just for fun to poke fun at other people cause he didn't care. He would've have cared about trying too offend people if people were already getting offending by it in the first place. That's the era of the whole Slim Shady/Marshal Mathers persona he did
You've got to give it to Eminem he is a lyrical genius, and literally doesn't give 2 fks what people think of him and he is his own person. He's told his life story tho his music and the future is yet to be written.
This man is way past genius with his lyrics. I wasn't really a fan until recently. Even before I really liked him, I did respect him. He's an amazing artist. Hilarious lyrics sometimes too. I like the fact that sometimes he gives respect to Dr. Dre in his music. He's a good guy.
The lyric "Dr Dre said.... nothing, Dr Dre's dead, he's locked in my basement" .... is a riff on the fact he was forever giving Dre props in his songs. It was very clever because it caught you off guard back in the day.
Like I said before, he is a real wordsmith! Remembering the Grammys, and he sang this song, and he also sang with Elton John who thinks Eminem is worthy, lol. You should take a listen to "The Monster", "Love the way you Lie".
This song is a the "Gateway drug" for lots of people into rap...I used to think rap was just about rap*, ending life of cops and songs like that until i heard this one, which led me to explore further
I've been an Eminem fan from the beginning. He's just a gifted artist that makes other artists just pure jealous. He doesn't crave the Hollywood spotlight and he takes care of his family. He's going to be first ballot Rock Hall of Fame inductee in a couple of years.
It was wild the impact this track and video had! It was naughty and shocking and subversive! I remember listening to it on the discman of an older kid on the way to a school trip on the school bus and being shook!
Hey just want to let you know that what you did to be able to post the video worked for me. A lot of times when reactors have to obstruct the video to post it something just seems "off" to me. For me at least you figured out the sweet spot.

You Gotta checkout the rap band Eminem was in called D12 with "Purple Hills" that song was part of his 2000's nostalgia. Also Eminem "My Name Is" and "Just Lose It"
What I love about Eminem is that he wraps about what other people are too afraid to wrap about. He opens up dissing Pamela Anderson and her ex-husband Tommy Lee because she claimed he was violent but he made it a joke. Then he killed Dr. Dre. The boys walking are imitations of *NSYNC. Everyone woman that he pretty much dissed basically dissed him. He made a lot of enemies with his song but that’s why he has so many fans. Godzilla and Rap God are great songs to check out. His song are very creative and so catchy.
You're so right. Even if you're not an Eminem fan, you have to appreciate his creativity. He's a lyrical genius. I'd go so far as to say he's an all time great.
22 years ago folks......... *22* YEARS 😩 Edit - I'm a 44 year old Scottish woman, I hate rap music generally, but I remember when Eminem arrived on the scene, I could actually make out what he was saying, and it was hilarious, and catchy as hell, I bought his first cd, but my brother nicked it off me lol.
I’m uber late for this reaction. I so enjoyed watching you watch/react to it! I was 20yrs old driving with my friends when I first heard this track. We all just stopped talking and listened to this track in a hypnotized way if you will. There was NOTHING else like Eminem at the time! I still have all my 💿 ‘s that have been worn down/scratched up & they are priceless to me. Man those were the good ole days 💯!! This is probably my favorite track from the old school Em. Have a blessed weekend. 💙&✌🏼
I was impressed when he came out with this song! It was my first time listening to him at the time when it came out. All of his tirades are to the point about main stream media, artists. you name it, he is on it, nobody is safe and he doesn't care if anyone becomes offended! He is great with the lyrics I must say and I'm sure others will agree too. There isn't anyone out there like Eminem!
I am not a rap fan, but I live Eminem. His lyrics are genius, he tells a story, he has a sense of humor and his songs are catchy. He can out rap just about anyone (Godzilla).
Eminem is a genius! The nurse with the red hair is Kathy Griffin a comedian (who got unfairly canceled for taking a photo with a bloody Trump mask) who's comedy is reality based and roasting other Celebs.. Which is exactly what he's doing, lyrically, in this song.
You might have done it already but if you haven't you should listen to his song, "Toy Soldiers", it's probably my favorite song of his. You should also check out the version of this song that he did on one of the music awards shows, I can't remember which one off the top of my head but it shouldn't be too hard to find lol. It was great though!
He was different to other rappers as instead of posing he poked fun at things. He was able to rage, be insulting, and talk about his mental instability because it was all done tongue in cheek and dressed up in great humour and entertainment. Even the sexist and homophobic content....well, it was still hard not to like the naughty boy cause in the next sentence he would make you spit out your drink in laughter. He had a terrific confidence and energy but wasn't trying to be cool or someone he wasn't. He opened the world of rap up to alot of people who wouldn't have tried it before (listeners and performers). The first time I saw him I thought he was gimmicky and a 1 hit wonder. How wrong I was...Incredible music and lyrics and the delivery is impeccable.
He's a freakin genius and this old rock chick has always thought so. And I'm a child of the 60s!! 100 years ago he would be in print, books of poetry. Or dead from starvation in a garret his genius undiscovered until after his demise!
One of the few rap songs I like. He did a song that he mixed an Areosmith and ACDC song together that I liked. I do have the movie about him also. But haven't really listened to much of his music, I just never could get into the rap... Thanks Jovaughn, hope you are doing well...AKA Lowrider.
Em transcended race, gender, age, socioeconomic status and stereotypes. He hooked us with songs and videos like this and then we could listen to the songs with a message. Lots of new rap fans because of Em.

I guess there's a Slim Shady in all of us...
Fk it, let's all stand up.

There are a lot of pop culture references in the song that are rapidly aging towards oblivion.

Oblivion? Lmao

Eminem "lose yourself' gives me Goosebumps every time I hear it, and I've heard it a lot lol. If you haven't seen the film 8mile you should.
Eminem's 1st announcement "Im here!!!!". You should check out "The way I am" & "Haileys Song" to get an idea on how varied his rap skills are

Check out his live Video Music award performance of it from 2000.
I was thinking the same thing-legendary!
His "dis' of Freddie Prinze Jr was classic.

There was a point where it was being said that Eminem saved the record industry with his album sales!
He is a poet for sure and he has learned so many lessons since back when he was so young
This is how the world was introduced to Slim Shady/Eminem in ‘99…
And it's been downhill ever since.

“White America” is a good one from Eminem as well.
Sounds like a sell out

"Bum Bum Bum Song (Lonely Swedish)" was a top request for MTV back in the early 90s.
He’s so clever, and so intelligent. One of those super talents. My brother loved him. ❤️ Eminem.
My first exposure to Eminem. I was so surprised at the lyrics I damn near crashed my car. Great choice. This and "Without Me" are my favorites.
