Such nostalgia! This video is SLAYING me. I'd give anything to live in a time like the 90s again. The figures were terrible but so wonderfully plentiful. I miss Wizard Magazine and superhero toys
16:25 That more clear Iceman with just the removable fists is Iceman II and the more blue one with the feet extensions is Age of Apocalypse Ice Man. 24:45 I loved that Doppelganger figure. I think his character came from one of the Infinity Stone story arcs were an evil doppelganger of every super hero was created. 34:15 I think the story around A] Why there was a Robin figure in that line and B] Why he has a flat top hair cut is interesting. Supposedly one of the Waynes brothers (I forget which one) was in talks to play Robin in that movie and they were far enough along that Kenner started working on the figure for him. Something happened, the deal fell through and there was no Robin in the movie. Since Kenner already paid to make the mold for it, they just tossed him in the line as is. 35:30 I think that's the light up eyes Lion-O as he has a little connector on his back.
Of course, you're 100% correct with the inspiration behind that Iceman action figure. However, he wasn't advertised as an Age of Apocalypse iteration. It was instead labelled Iceman (Crystalline Armor) as part of 1996's X-Men Mutant Armor Series.
I absolutely loved seeing someone's collection in detail like this. And I missed the original MOTU part of this collection video so I checked that out as well - great stuff. Having just finished X-Men 97, I'm definitely feeling that nostalgia pull to some of these X-Men figures in the this collection. Great video this week Dan, ty.
I love this ToyBiz line so much! I started again my collection 12 years ago with these. And in Argentina we didn't have the chance to get them all, but trough these years I sorted it out, and got almost all of them. Xmen, Spiderman, and also Iron Man ToyBiz, amazing toy line.
This video is sensational, pure nostalgia. It reminded me of my childhood with many of the figures I had and played with as a child. Congratulations on your acquisition!
The beast action feature is spring legs... the back gimmick helps you hold him (the springs) down... he then leaps up and flips.. think Mario McDonald's toys without the suction cups.
So coo. ToyBiz Marvel is one of the best lines to collect. It's still super affordable to buy MOC and there's so much from which to choose. Only the Spider-Man line has become expensive, but I think that has more to do with the Marvel Legends retro series than actual scarcity.
According to Dan Larson, Tusk was the name Jim Lee initially gave to Maul seen at 29:55. I'm not sure where he learned that and it's a bit debatable. Nevertheless, I'm sure there's some truth to it. Rob Liefeld mentioned in his Robservations podcast on August 31st, 2021 that Jim also intended for Warblade to be codenamed Cutter. Since that identity was already associated with the protagonist from ElfQuest, Wendy & Richard Pini objected.
Loved the long video. Great little boyhood collection. Must have been a blast to go through. Super Powers were sick. Want that Samurai and Mum mutt man. MIMP were sweet too. Thanks you for this channel. 😁
Oh wow, those Super Powers figures are awesome!! Mr. Freeze is in amazing shape (the one I have in my collection has definitely seen better days). I'm also missing the faceplate to my Cyclotron, I got a repro cape for my Mr. Miracle that looks really great on him. The only actual figures I'm missing are Captain Marvel (maybe some day) and Cyborg (will never have him) haha... these were definitely my first toys as a kid, I barely remember playing with them because I was like 2 or 3, but there's lots of pics of me playing with them back then, it's so great re-collecting them again
@12:15 .... I have literally never seen that figure before.. I had the main line version (blue shoulders and regular claws) that musta been a multi pack repaint (something they did a lot in this era)
It's Wolverine (Bone Claws) released in 1996 as part of 'Marvel OverPower CardGame PowerSurge Invincibles'. Only 3 other characters were included in this toyline.
12:49 he actually wore that costume in both the comics (Marvel Comics Presents #150) and in the animated series ("Sanctuary-Part 2", season 4 episode 10)
Man, Dan, that Wolvy with the ringmask and spring out claws was also my fav as a kid. I remember snagging so many of these the Summer I stumbled across the X-Men animated series since they pretty much were my comics as a kid. I remember extending body Apocalypse and his goofy magic jewel staff thingy. Manspider and both goblins were old favs from the Spidey animated series line. Such great finds here, dude.
I went back and watched the MOTU video of Matt's collection. I was wondering where those blue versions of the Power Sword and assorted other weapons came from? The blue on those really popped!

Not quite. This Havoc action figure was released in 1995 as part of the X-Men Invasion Series. An 87 minute Generation X pilot does exist but it started first as a comic book. Generation X was technically published from July 1st, 1994 to February 21st, 2018.
Also, Monster in my Pocket and MUSCLE were some of my favorites as a kid. I also had some of those bigger rubbery knockoffs! Actually been thinking about trying to collect those two lines again.
Ive watched every video on this channel. I love your other channel..but this channel has the type of videos I love most on that channel..now all in one place and more often!!
Шикарные фигурки!!! Спасибо за видео!!! Много фигурок я уже встречал, некоторые попадались мне в комиссионках Монреаля. Но много вижу в первый раз, очень интересно, лайк видео и подписка на канал!!!
Great video. I really enjoy the Toy Biz Spider-Man toys, I had a lot figures from that line when I was a kid. And love seeing old Power Rangers toys as well. Look forward to your next video.

With the X-Men toys they starting using Bart Sears artwork as a model for the characters, and I think that Havok is from that time, and why he is so Beefy like Chef Boy Ardee Ravioli.
Both of my childhood Cyclops figures and Mr. Sinister still light up (I literally tried them this week after another YT video led me to dig through my bin).
Fun fact: the first series of X-Men figures were NOT actually designed by ToyBiz. They were designed by Galoob. Galoob had the toy license for X-Men and had a toy line in development however things fell through. When ToyBiz acquired the Marvel/X-Men license they purchased the designs/tooling from Galoob so they had product ready to go. X-Men was super hot during this era and they wanted product out asap. This is why there is such a drastic difference in look/design between Series 1 and Series 2 ToyBiz X-Men toys.
Mail away Clark Kent, and series 3 Mr freeze(also has metal knee pins) and Mister Miracle. The Riddler was also a international release in the Super Power line....Esso also sold them with 20 bucks of gas in short cards
When I noticed the X-Men figures, I got excited. I really just have the Diamond Selects of X-Men and started to get the figures from the fist movies. Seeing stuff I don't have is always fun. I did have the Marvel Super Heroes figure. I had the Hulk from it and he came with a squeezable boulder and bendable iron bar. I had Secret Wars Wolverine. An Iceman that I always wanted was one who came with his board but you could fill the middle with water, post bobby on the pegs and stick it all in the freezer. You were suppose to be able to pop him out and slide him on that ice part ha ha. Deadpool was and is my all time favorite. Might be a little too late for She-Hulk ha ha. I never had the W.I.L.D.C.A.T.S figures but I really liked the cartoon. I had all 4 rocker turtles. I really liked those alternate versions.

Avalanche is a x-men baddie. I still have all my X-Men 90s figures & complete. I didn’t get everything but got a lot. A lot you showed(including both Forge & Longshot lol) One of my first was the 2nd wolverine and he was one of my favorite figures(& he’s my favorite character). I never got morph tho and I wanted civilian wolverine but never got him(got weapon x tho). My banshee still has his plastic wing/flaps but my omega red has a broken whip. And I liked the juggernaut(although small first figure) & later got a bigger light up version. Only got 2nd sabertooth(loved that figure too). I have the smaller archangel & only 2nd magneto & cyclops. Also got rogue prof x cause like you they were must haves. Loved getting the first ice man but was more excited for bigger one when I got it! Got that havok but don’t think I ever got Polaris.
The Toy Biz card certainly indicates it's Miguel O'Hara stating "From the far-flung future comes the Spider-Man of 2099! Taking his name from the original Spider-Man, this new Spidey has a host of exciting new powers! Able to glide from building to building on his foil-web, Spider-Man 2099 fights crime with a different attitude and a different set of rules!"

longshot, with cable and bishop and LONGSHOT

Hey Dan! I'd love to have a Pixel Dan Bucket list of Must-See Toy Stores/Shows!
Love all these toys. The super powers have been my jam I have all of them besides Cyborg. The colors just pop, plastic man is my favorite
I have the Spider man genre you showed still on the cards! & All Venoms. Blade. I could go forever!!!🤠

Excellent picks 👏
I love that long haired Archangel because they repainted it for the Toy Fair magazine mail away!

Toy Biz Spider-Man figures were my favorite as a kid :)

I enjoyed this! And I would LOVE that Clark Kent!
FYI, Red Tornado and Samurai you press their arms together to get their lower legs to spin around.
where is the first video where you went through the motu stuff from this collection? i never saw it and would like to.
You have a Sue Storm figure in that collection, she's just clearly invisible.
I think havoc was from the Gen-x line, which if I recall was a short lived t.v show.

Stealth Wolverine looks like he's been assimilated by the Borg. Not the Phalanx.
Man, that original Magneto and brown suit Wolverine always bring back memories. Picked up those two at the same time.
Also, Monster in my Pocket and MUSCLE were some of my favorites as a kid. I also had some of those bigger rubbery knockoffs! Actually been thinking about trying to collect those two lines again.
I went from Heman to TMNT to gi joe to Xmen. Wave 2 Wolverine was my favorite figure. Sold them years back but still collect other lines.
