She was beautiful and before my time. Cut down way too soon. It’s a shame that no one knows if it was accidental, suicide or murder I guess we will never know. Thank you for remembering her and sharing her story with us.
She was killed by Pat DiCicco and Lucky Luciano because she did not want to share her restaurant with them for gun running and gambling purposes. The inside of her throat was bruised, suggesting a bottle was shoved down it.
It wasn't a conspiracy death. It was murder, not accidental and certainly not a suicide. She had everything to live for, and only 29. Made a number of wonderful films with The Marx Brothers ("Monkey Business" 1931, and "Horse Feathers" 1932; as 'Connie Bailey'--her scene with Groucho in the canoe is a scream), Laurel & Hardy (Unaccustumed As We Are" 1929, "Another Fine Mess" 1930, and "Chickens Come Home" 1931), and with ZaSu Pitts in their comedy teaming. Thelma Alice Todd, 29 (Jul. 29, 1906 Lawrence, MA - Dec. 16, 1935 Hollywood, CA).
She was definitely murdered. Roland West did it, but WHY is the issue. Shoot, would be great to pull her case and pour over the “evidence” (if any was kept), and see if something pops up. I think she had a nightclub also. I believe it either involved Roland and the wife owed her money, and she needed it repaid, or it was drugs. Let me know what you think.
Well, things we take for granted as common knowledge today weren't so much so 90 years ago. Cars hadn't been around all that long then after all and not as many people had one like we do today. We know now about carbon monoxide but according to my 99 year old mother nobody really did then. Could very well have been just an unfortunate accident, poor thing. RIP Thelma.
I saw a whole special on this she had a gangster boyfriend who was very jealous and when they found her the car seat was pushed all the way back and she had bruises all over her
She was murdered, there was too much damage to her body to be simple carbon monoxide poisoning. West also purposely locked her out of the house, trapping her in the garage. Thanks for sharing this one.
So sad. She was so young. Thanks for sharing this video ❤️
I love these super old school videos! Great job,as always! THANX, Chris!👍🤗✌️
Foul play. May Miss Todd rest in peace. Great video, thank you. ❤🤍💙

Sounds like murder to me...

I have seen her in silent film. I didn't know she had a conspiracy death. Wow. Very beautiful woman. So sad she died so young. RiP.

I like these kinds of stories. 😍
Thanks for this. You can look for shorts with Miss Todd along with her sidekick Patsy Kelly.

Very sad story
Total foul play!!
She also teamed with zasus pitts even though her acting was the pits
I've read about this case recently. It does sound suspicious. We'll probably never know the truth. I hope she's resting in peace.

There are some good books on this. I've only read one but seems to me likely an accident. Some may disagree.
Knew who it was just by the title. I think it was foul play.
Yet another young beauty's questionable death only known to the ages. Very sad indeed. 😢
Another sad death. I think it was foul play
If today's technology had been available back then, you can bet it would probably be solved by now.
Tão triste 💔
So what do they think might have happened?
So very sad I think it was murder
