Nice old girl. She needs a nice exhaust system to bring out that sweet V8 sound 😁

My Charger was made the same year as I was born but not same date
    That’s why it’s so special

Heya Coop, Cheers for another great story, Karen was beside herself in pride and joy with the Old Girl Robyn. On to another story close to home, watching your videos and loving all the old Vals you've resurrected ..wait for it?? l chased down a CM Valiant in Melbourne and bought " Chrystine " as l've named her, shes painted in Impact red.Bit of confusion at Vic roads trying to get her regoed. lt was a club reg car for many years but because of her first date of reg she has been identified as a " Red Mitsubishi Sedan" no mention of Chrysler or Valiant. Which is weird because her build date is 01/81 but was first regoed in November from a dealership in Melbourne. Now l know that Mitsubishi bought out Chrysler midway through 1981, but you'd think that it would still be a Valiant as it is badged as such. All in all l'm proud of the purchase of this old girl, she has no rust anywhere and the duco and interior is like new, due to her being garaged nearly all its life. l paid the princely sum of $21,000 and because of her great condition l'm not paying for repairs and such. She has the 265 Hemi 3spd column, but in the books that came with the car she was originally a 245 Hemi but she was changed at some stage. Thank you Coop for sharing your videos as l'm blessed now to have an early Val and will be joining up with a club here in Mildura. Sorry for the lengthy post but as you know we all get excited about these Gems from the past!! Cheers from Morf!!

      Mate great to hear
Impact red is a great colour on them
The later car were plated as Mitsubishi so maybe that’s where the confusion came
It was down to the guy filling out the paperwork on the day
      Cheers

Great wagon mate, same as mine but unfortunately mines a cm. Elb 318s are always on gas running points. The fireball engines are great , every cm I've owned was a slug. Very low compression and weak spark . Merry Christmas mate . Great work mate.

How cool to say you've a car built the day you were born... I once had an 8/81 Regal that was sold new the very day my son was born. Soon as I recognised that sale date I bought it... Spinnaker White with the most ill fitting black vinyl roof I've ever seen. Incidentally it was the last Valiant sold by one of Sydney's oldest Chrysler dealers Century Motors of Broadway Sydney. One day an unchecked elderly pulled straight out in front of me to the tune of $3500. It then sat in my garage for many years. The guy I sold it to "Pacerized" it, unfortunately!
    Shoulda...

Owner of Century Motors was Klaus Silvers. Nice guy.

It's nice to see AUs meeting Valiants.
I think of the AU as a spiritual successor.
Did you know Lee Iacocca proposed to merge Chrysler with Ford in the early 1980s but it never reached discussion. I'm guessing Ford was not interested.

On the green Valiant heading north was the butterfly in the exhaust manifold may be half shut . I always get rid of them as if not working correctly your car will over heat . Or blocked up pea shooter muffler . 👍🏻💯🇦🇺

True mate , had one do that on a cl 318 . Just put extractors on and made a huge difference.

That is a standard feature on old Valiants. They are 100% reliable until your life depends on it and then they decide to get moody.

It’s not a TBar it’s slap stick Auto every one says T Bar that’s Ford . As for VC V8 Regal is not correct sorry they were The VC V8 not regal the 225 was in the Regal only. Have owned around 100 valiants including Chargers All Pacers Valiant utes Big Block Dodges poly V8 s. Yes I wish I never sold my VC V8 as well we had two of them in the family. My frist daughter came home in our Spanish Red with Black vinyl top . I had widen the rims to 6 inch sports exhaust etc … MOPAR old school or no car .
