All of my fics are titled based on their premises. I literally wrote a fic about the characters pranking each other on April Fool’s Day and titled it “April Fool’s.”
My questions! Thank you for answering :)) When I wrote my story I was so scared I had misrepresented SA survivors 😅 never got any critique saying I did. I took it to mean it was fine since my friend said it was and I also based it off some family members stories but still. I worry. I get why people don’t critique tho. Never know how the author will react or how to not accidentally word it in an unkind way.
Ah no I wrote nearly two paragraphs of response that got lost! Anyways, it sounds like you did your best representing SA survivors. As long as you provided a content warning (or used Creator Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings) and also stated that you were open to critique from anyone with lived experience, I'd say you did the best you could. Fanfic can't represent sensitive topics as carefully because since it's done for free, we can't really pay for sensitivity readers. Sometimes we might have someone with lived experience willing to look over a scene or two for us, but not always, and they'd only get a snippet of the full story.
The titles that always have stuck with me are mostly 1-3 words as they are very easy to remember :D!! I read fanfiction since I was a toddler and there's this fic called "Ambition", I can't even remember what was the fandom or story, but I can vividly remember those days of reading the chapters late at night, with the blanket pulled over my head so when my mom went to check on me, she wouldn't see my tablet lol It was very lovely to know about your thoughts on certain topics!!! I was exited to see your new background on a video, it looks so, so cool!! Lots of love and I hope your week went well
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I definitely agree that short and simple titles can be some of the best. The important thing to me is if they're easy to remember, and English fics titled in non-English languages or named after song lyrics just aren't easy to remember, which means that I can't find them again if I want to.
I never had any serious problems with finding a title for my fics but with my recent ideas that I don't write them yet, I started to. One is already in the progress and I choose one in the end, but not pretty sure about it. I have other ideas but I don't know if it is good or not. I have the story outlined just not every little detail. I'm not sure about the premise too. I mean how I want to tell it. I just really hope that when I write it, I will have a clearer title idea in my mind. Anyways, I usually don't really like my titles, but this one I think is the best and I still like it: The Tale of the Whale. I like the rhythm and how it has two meanings. And the second one was just an accident. I only thought about the main character telling a tale about a whale to his kids but that tale is about his past so technically the whale is himself. It's his story.

My other fic titles are slightly more creative-“Weird Lullabies” and “Really Making An Effort”-but they’re both based on the premises of the fics.

Ooh I do love a good rhyme! And neat how you've got the framing device in there too.
