It is November 30 here in the Pacific Northwest and I am just going to follow your instructions and winterize today. Temps are going down to 30F and I figure, why risk it. 👍 Thanks for the easy to follow video!!! 💜💜💜
Thanks Jen. What are your thoughts on continuing to use the cassette toilet through the winter without the fresh water function? If we winterize per your video and then use bottled water to flush the toilet bowl and keep some antifreeze in the cassette, do you think that would keep the cassette toilet safely usable through the winter?
Jenn, here in Tucson-it may get below 32 but just for a 2-4 hours at night and never below like 28 degrees. Thanks for your thoughts and knowledge on if you think I should winterize.
Thanks, a lot for the video, it was better explained that the Nucamp one! :). Didnt think I would need to winterize here in Northwest Florida but here we are with temps in the 20's next couple days.
Jenn, thanks for the great videos and especially those for the 2021 T@B. My 2020 was totaled by a tree fall on it - your 2021 model videos are very helpful in illustrating the differences. I use my trailer for SAR during the winter... do you have any ideas on mods that would protect pipes, etc. during ops in freezing temps? Is it feasible to insulate pipes?
Thanks Jen! This is very helpful as are all of your videos!! I just completed my 2021 T@B 320 winterization and wish I would have seen this video first. I totally missed draining the fresh water tank and had to start all over again. I do have a couple of things to add to your information. Per Creed at NuCamp, you should use a non-alcohol based anti-freeze to keep any rubber gaskets and seals from deteriorating. The only place I was able to find non-alcohol based antifreeze was at Home Depot for about $3.00/gal. It took less than 2 gallons to complete the winterization. Make sure to pour antifreeze in the shower and sink drain traps as well.
@@JennGroverPhotography Very helpful videos, thank you so much!! I looked at the forum, and it looks like I can use the Alde heat when winter camping on the Oregon coast, this won't be snow, but chilly and rainy weather. As i understand it, no water can be used once I winterize (no hot water, no sink or toilet use/no shower). This afternoon, I drove home my very first 20201 320s (was a pop-up tent owner). I was inspired by your videos, and Mandy Lea, and Camp with Delaneys. I went through the Portland, Oregon dealers (Apache) walk-through today with a very friendly guy who has only been there for a month, which makes me even appreciate your videos more than you know. Thank you for supporting the 320 camping gals! I learn so much! Looking to buy non-alcohol based antifreeze at Home Depot to complete my winterizing, good tip.
Congrats on your new T@b. That's right, don't use water from the freshwater or city water connections after you winterize, stick to bottled water. Happy camping!
@@JennGroverPhotography another winterize question; I drained all water to prepare for winterize. The valve near the Alde water heater (yellow switch/valve on hose near Alde heater) was a good tip, some water drained out, not much. My question: before I use the RV antifreeze (Walmart for $2.50/gallon), do I need to shut that valve? Looked up Alde owners manual but this is not clear. Thanks again!
Love that little teal pin. Will have to check Sara's website out. Great information for winterizing. We're going out in our Tab this week and then have to winterize it. Thanks for the share. Big thumbs up from a small content creator.
Hi Jen!! This is so helpful. Thank you! We appreciate all your videos as new owners. Question- I know this is for a 2021 model. We have a 2022 tab 320 cs-s. Do you know if the process is different? Thanks!
Thank you for another informational video Jenn! I usually winterize around this time of year in Central Ohio. I use the RV antifreeze method. It looks easier with the new Nautilus system!
Hi Jenn, Being new to RV ownership and new to the 320 S, I am really enjoying your informative videos for the 2021 Tab, and I appreciate the advice of how to judge needing to winterize. I was wondering if living in a part of the country that rarely sees below freezing temps for more than the overnight hours a few days in a row, would another acceptable way to avoid freezing pipes in the tab be to simply plug into a regular home outlet (by using the 30 amp adapter) and run the heater overnight in the camper?
Hi Suzanne, thanks for watching! Yeah, ut will depend on how cold it gets at night and how warm it gets during the day. If it drops to the mid twenties and doesn't get above 40, I would probably winterize, for example. The shower and bathroom will likely be your most vulnerable spots. If you don't camp over the winter, winterizing is so easy that I would probably ly go ahead and winterize, but you might be OK leaving the Alde running. If you do that, open the cabinetry under the sink and also the bathroom door to allow heat in. The bathroom is the real cold spot.
@@JennGroverPhotography That’s helpful. It’s nice to be able to leave options open for as long as possible to continue to camp at a moments notice into the winter months in a warmer climate. Thanks so much again for your great videos which are so helpful to us newbies :-)
Thanks for the awesome video! Another brand-new 2021 T@B 320 owner here. Based on Chuck's comment that it took less than 2 gallons of AF to winterize, I assume one does NOT need to fill fresh and greywater tanks w/ AF in order to protect them? I'm in Maine, so a bit skittish about the cold.
@@JennGroverPhotography Thanks for the super speedy response. :) So when properly winterized, there will basically only be AF in the lines themselves (as well as the drain and p traps as you've described)?
Very helpful for a newby facing my first winterization. I am curious about the air pressure method, which you mention but don't walk through. If I do that, do I still need to add antifreeze via the pump, or just manually in the drains?
I winterized my 2021 Tab 320 with -50 Super Tech antifreeze. It is pretty slushy, close to frozen. Should I be concerned? I live in a pretty frigid climate
Since the T@b uses a pump to fill its tank, is it possible to use an inline water filter between the water source and the intake pump? I'm pondering getting a 320 CS-S in the future, and I was wondering if a water filter system can be added under the kitchen sink? I worry that a Brita pitcher is not enough for clean water.
I am not that familiar with the CSS plumbing, but when you fill the tank from city water, it does not use the pump and you can use a Camco inline filter.
Actually own an outback tab, doesn't have the nautilus system. How does one winterize on that one? Also the pipes are confusing under the cushion. Could you do a video in that? Didnt have hot water when last used. Does the Alde use a lot of glycol? Does it need drained? What about a tire monitor is that needed? Do you have sway?
The directions on this video are specific to the 2021 and newer models. Directions for older models can be found at the nuCamp site: nucamprv.com/app/uploads/2020/09/Pre-2020-Tab-320-Clamshell-Winterization.pdf
@@JennGroverPhotography thank you! Had a roof top ac installed way too hot with that 5000 btu ac. New camp needs to add a range hood in the kitchen plus a on demand tankless hot water heater. Boondocking is better campsites are too crowded.
I love my 2021 320. I feel like a range hood would be du0licative of the fantastic Fan and I wouldn't trade the Alde for any other system. It is wonderful!!
I found it! I have CS-S model and that yellow flip up tab is somewhat hidden probably because its a clamshell 😊 This is all new to me and I need to have more patience with myself!
Thanks for the video. I just got my TAB and then found it's supposed to get to freezing tomorrow night... so I drained everything but now I'm wondering.... can you plug in the camper and turn on the heat with no water in the water heater? I understand it has 2 elements and I'm not sure how that works. Thanks!
Yes, absolutely! Make sure you flip the bypass switch in the Nautilus compartment. Simply turn on the heat from the Alde panel and turn off the water (shower symbol.)
Thank you!! You took the mystery out of winterizing!! So easy.
I am so glad it was helpful!!
Easy peasy! I can't believe I was going to pay some guy $200 to winterize it for me. Sheese. Thanks, Jenn!

Hi Jenn! Could you do a video on how to dewinterize the 2021 Tab 320? We are getting excited to get out there & use ours soon☺️
Yes! I will be doing one, very shortly!
Another great video Jenn. Good information for campers.
Thanks, Pat!
Good timing for this video. I haven't had a camper with plumbing since 2017. Keeping it simple. :)
Simple is good!

Leave the aldi yellow valve up?

Definitely not fill them. They are both 18 gallons!

Yeah, the lines and the traps are the biggest risks, as well as tank gates.

I used to do air, only, but truthfully, with the Nautilus it is super easy to just do antifreeze.
@@JennGroverPhotography Thanks for the advice!
@@JennGroverPhotography Hi Jenn, Do you HAVE to do the blowout prior to doing the antifreeze. The blowout intimidates me a little!
No, but you do have to drain the low points and fresh water tank

There is -100 antifreeze yoy can get if you are concerned.

I haven't been able to find premium/alcohol free anti-freeze. Can I just do the blow-out method?
You can, but I would use whatever RV antifreeze you can find in addition. Walmart and auto parts stores carry it as well as camping world and Amazon.
