I. M. Meen - Level 36: Library (Final boss: I. M. Meen)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лис 2009
- Boss fight begins at 1:30.
This is the last level, and there are no children to save. So we can head straight for Meen. There are other areas to explore if you need Power Potions, though.
A single hit from Meen will take off 25% of your health. But he's easy to dodge. Only Writewell's Book can damage him, but it only takes ten hits to beat him. Pretty pathetic for a final boss...
If you didn't pick up the book in the previous level, or if you died in this level and lost the book, you're screwed. If you don't pick up the scroll that Meen drops, or if you try to solve the scroll and fail, you'll have to wait for Meen to get back up and you'll fight him again.
Stupid Gnorris. This isn't a cell door.
Enjoy the ending! Don't blink or you'll miss it! - Ігри
I defeated a wizard by using whom instead of who.
Pokemon would have never taught you that. Only, "capture small animals and make them fight."
@@DocJamesH but Pokémon isn’t a game about grammar?
a all-powerful wizard vs a grammar nazi
I.M. Meen screaming was the best thing I’ve heard in years.
“AAAAAAAEEEAAAAAAEEEAAAAAA”
So this is an educational version of Wolfenstein? Cool.
Actually, could wolfenstein actually be considered educational? I mean, it has themes of ww2
@@neuravanny Its educational in the sense that it teaches you to dislike nazis :)
I. M. Meen is actually a Nazi scientist who evaded capture from the Allied forces and escaped to Cuba following the defeat of the Axis Powers. It says so in the game's manual.
And as a last-ditch magic attack, he sends you back to DOS.
I really would've liked to see Robomeen.
I.M. Meen Secret Boss when?
robomeen lol
"I. M Meen, NEVER QUITS!!"
_And after he run away the game just closes and we never khew what happened next or what happened to I. M Meen_
Uhhh.... Chill Manor
@@becus3000 dude he appears once at the end of chill manor and never again
we got a pseudo sequel.
He'll never quit...in our hearts.
I've read that if I. M. Meen manages to kill you, the game becomes permanently unwinnable, because the only item that can even damage him shows up before the final level, you lose your weapons when you die, and the checkpoint is a point of no return. So, if you die...you just got dunked on. Said item was also either his or his father's weapon of choice, so I guess that's a justification for him being so easy during the final boss fight.
Mudkip the Mud Fish Pokemon
Did you just say, dunked on, so you've played UnderTale right.
Riolu The Blue Cat
That's not a very good idea.
Sailor Sedna wait what???
It's one of those kinds of games, I see now.
save the game before the bossfight, if you lose the book. then go to the save file (you can save in the game.)
The game was all about getting to the part where I.M. Meen makes his epic face when he says, "Back" in "I'll be back."
I like how the game abruptly ends
Meen's voice actor clearly loved doing this
Guys, this is an educational game. What else did you expect?
a "THE END" screen, at least.
THE BUTTERMAN
There's a joke about punctuation or something here.
Dear Animation Magic,
I am simply astounded your studio is still in business! I have recently purchased your PC game, I.M. Meen, and was disappointed by the, should I say, lack of a proper ending. Tell me, did monkeys write that script for you, or did you just get advice from them? If a proper sequel is not created to remedy this issue, we'll have to settle this in court!
Your Pal,
The Boss
They did, it's called Chill Manor.
Zero errors.
I love how your comment hits the profile
lol???
At least I.M. Meen doesn't go down in one hit like Ganon does.
2:46: Do the meen speen
Wow, really? It just ends? No cutscene explaining what happened after? No scene of the bookworm and the other kids escaping I. M. Meen's twisted world for good? No "The End" text where the bookworm and the kids are sitting back in the library laughing and talking about the experience they just had? Damn, that's pretty shallow
IKR it’s kinda unfair 😞
:(
Do you know how fucking hard it is to make a video game?!
@@DocJamesH Do you know how good many other games are with effort put in?
Given that the game was actually the trap, cutting to dos is kind of the labyrinth being destroyed. XD
The animation director responsible for Meen's lovely animations has the last name of Makarov...
"REMEMBER, NO GOODY-GOODIES."
Yeah, but the studio's games are not goody-goodies to critics.
1:51 - Gnorris: This one's not gonna be easy! Remember what you've learned so far and find all of the boss's mistakes! If you can find them all, you'll unravel the magic of the labyrinth and destroy it forever!
"I knew ya could do it. Good wuck!" This game seems way too long for a kids' game. You knew exactly what you were doing and it still took nearly five hours for you to play through to the end. I would probably have to start in the morning if I wanted to rescue all of the children by dinnertime. I admire your patience in answering peoples' questions about how long this game is on nearly every one of the 36 videos.
I also, wonder. If I.M. Mean hates children studying and learning, WHY IS HE IN A LIBRARY? Maybe he's just a troll.
goody-goodies don't deserve proper endings and meen's magic is the reason for it
Come on, that’s it? We cut immediately to the credits which are very short and then we go straight back to the prompt screen?
How about a cutscene showing the kids escaping from I.M Meen’s dungeon as it crumbles around them? How about a cutscene that shows the kids and Gnorris back in the library, celebrating I.M Meen’s defeat or maybe having a good laugh about the crazy journey they just had? Even a “The End” screen would have been acceptable.
Knowledge is power they say...
So... this is basically a non-violent, educational version of Doom?
... far out.
"Sucked into the fourth dimension"
*game closes to DOS*
Ahhh, that's why it does that abruptly...
"ILL COME BACK! YOU'LL SEE!"
he never did
There's a sequel.
@@PikminandOatchi I know. He never came since the sequel
He did, he's a manager of Brand X product in the foodfight movie.

"Boss fight begins at 1:30"
Looked like less of a boss fight and more of an absolute massacre.
Highly anticipated the end of this game - I'm not sure why it enthrolled me so much but I loved watching every video of this playthrough, haha.
@M3rtyville No, it's a PC game, but the cutscenes were made by the same people who worked on Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon.
The instruction manual says Meen is a librarian. The kids were doing their homework in the library, and Meen told them to read his magic book that sucks them into the labyrinth.
Did you get home by dinner time?
That IS strange. Maybe he couldn't get another job. :D
"Have fun being trapped in my labyrinth without a means of escape, bookworm!"
All work and no play makes Wayne a dopey boy
I.M Meen is Down
M.
David Mckendry you meen
*I.M down*
2:32
I love that it just ends and closes
This is a less violent version of doom.
Poor Meen, Bookworm ruined his beautiful labyrinth. lol
wolfenstein but with learning
DESTINATION OF MY CHOOSING
Wow, what an epic final boss.
TOP 5 DISAPPOINTING ENDINGS
1st PLACE:
lost? frightened? confused? GOOD HAHAHAHA
Don't worry about Meen, I killed him in his sleep, you won't see him again IN A HUNDRED YEARS! AHAHAHAHA!
And so the epic quest finally comes to an end. Good job, Bookworm.
they sure were in a hurry to finish the game :D
1:16 Me: The jig is up Meen! You’ve got no more minions, your labyrinth is in ruins, and all the children you’ve imprisoned have been freed!
What's are all of Meen's minions? Errr... I mean guardians!
LOST? CONFUSED? FRIGHTEND? GOOD! HAHAHAHHAHA
Robomeen... Food for thought...
It doesn't really matter because only the book can hurt him. I can find out how much health other enemies and bosses have by attacking them with various things and counting how many hits it takes to kill it, but since Meen is immune to everything but the book, that doesn't work. I assume he has 90 because the book can kill an enemy with 9 HP in one hit, but I can't be certain. It's also possible that the book does 10 damage and Meen has 100 HP, but it would make no difference anyway.
the little picture of Meen on the bottom of the screen looks a bit like jim carrey. HEY! they shud make I.M. Meen the movie with Jim Carrey as Meen! THT WUD BE PERFECT!!! =D
How could the most powerful magician in the world be beaten by a little 9 year old?
Same energy as "How could the King of Evil himself, with 7 years of experience with the Triforce of Power, lose to a child that has only been on his quest for a month?!"
Meen spent so much time perfecting the power of his spelling that he forgot to brush up on his grammar.
Be sure to make a save point there before facing off the final boss.
Petition for Nintendo to buy the I.M. meen franchise and continue the series. And put I.M. meen in Smash.
Yep. That's what happened when they disappeared from the cells.
Yeah, why not just destroy them? That's what I would do as the most powerful magician in the world.
I watched all of the videos. You, FFL2and3rocks, have a new subscriber, and I. M. Meen has a fangirl. xD
I used to do those worksheets in 8th grade for warm ups XD
@FFL2and3rocks
What an unstatisfying ending!
You're tougher than you look...TWERP! But I've still got some nasty trolling up my sleeve!
xP
lol about to fight im meen. "HOLD ON lemme sit down and read this and correct your mistakes real quick."
And then I. M. MEEN did return in chill manor to untie his history rewriting relative Ophelia after she got defeated by agent egghead
2:33-2:50 My reaction to the pharaoh boss on Miitopia after losing:
Say whatever you want 'bout this game, but after all, spriting here is on high level, especially dying animation of those skeleton wizards on early levels.
"How I HATE those goody goodies! How they make my stomach turn..."
2:32 play this around ur parents
Gosh, even the way the kid looks from left to right reminds me of Wolfenstein 3D!
1:26
Say it, don't spray it.
So, if his only weakness is the concept of proper grammar, then why did he imprison the studious children in a fashion that can be thoroughly destroyed by the very thing that makes him want to capture them?
Ideally, he wants to get to them before they get a chance to learn grammar, to ensure they can never rise against him.
I just searched UA-cam for "Chill Manor" and found three. The intro, the ending, and the scene when you lose. According to one of the people who uploaded them, those are the only three cutscenes in the game.
i love this level music sooo much =D
Did this guy ever get a sequel, if not he left a good mark in the Video Game world.
Wait, so this is something of a School Project!? Well that explains the Educational part of it.
@BigDream64 It depends on where you saved the game folder. If it's saved in C:\IMMeen, then try:
mount C C:\IMMeen
C:
Meen
@Jacob041593 Actually, they did make a sequel where you fought his wife. It's mentioned in the I.M. Meen article on Wikipedia.
Wretched child!
Quick pause at 2:42 you can’t miss it
Spellcheck ftw
@yoshiog1 Doesn't really matter since only the book can hurt him, but I guess 90, since the book can kill enemies with 9 HP in one hit.
The last part about him never quitting? Perhaps a sequel?
@MaxRideWizardLord Oh I see.
Yeah, I just looked it up and apparently Animation Magic had a subsidiary in Russia.
2:42 uh if I.M Meen never quits, so why did the application quit to dos?
2:32 - 2:35
I. M. Mean crying LOL
That was probably just a False Boast. He probably Flunked Hogwarts.
Who is Here because of Rouxls Kaard ?
I attualy came here because of that but I always knew this existed lol
Looking at the title I thought this was another YTP.
I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not.
@yoshiog1 Or for someone who finished level 35 without picking up the book, although it's hard to miss.
so it just sort of ends? meen spins away and your done? wheres the dramatic exit, where gnorris going yay you won, where the goody goody dance of celebration?
totally unfair
Looks like an educational version of "DOOM"
There is a sequel, it's called Chill Manor.
Weird that the sequel gets no attention at all.
Wow, that sucks. Wish there were enough to sentence mix off of.
@AtomicDonut22 No, it's a PC game. But the same animators that worked on Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon worked on this game.
Look at his left (from his view) eye at 2:44.
"you spin me right round baby right round like a record."
Yeah, but it isn't much. There's a hidden passageway with 6 power potions, 6 explode-o fruits, and one of each wand. Of course, all those weapons are useless because we have the book.
How would you defeat Meen with out the book?
Gnorris is Chuck Norris' son.
Agreed. But Peter Berkrot is the voice of I. M. Meen.
its a kiddie version of doom!
"I'll be back!" :D
The music sounds like a bloody game
