The Vikings loss last night made it a WHOLE lot easier to deal with our loss to a better team that we allowed less points to and scored more against even with how badly we played
As always ofc thanks for the daily content Andy and PAD fam. Gonna be a long offseason but it’ll be worth it when Crosby is in Green and Gold next year!
Areas of optimism for this season cause it seems like we need it lol: We found our DC, great offseason pieces in X and Josh, we handled the games we were supposed to (something that we didn’t do last year like the giants game), and we found some young talent in Coop and Evan… take a breath my fellow packers fans it will get better
I feel you bub, but it always seems like “we’re two years away”. Special teams still needs a ton of work, our O line is deceptively bad. Meaning they somehow grade well, but get redeemed by Jacob’s ability to break tackles in the backfield. The receiving core isn’t as talented as we thought, Clark basically never showed up, Gary is overpaid, and LVN is only an athlete at this point. But yeah, we do have some bright spots.
I’m disappointed but not mad. We just weren’t good enough. We need to get better. At least, we didn’t choke like the previous seasons when the red carpet was laid down for us
Would love more Justis content as we go through the off-season, getting into all the nerdy stuff with the draft and free-agency and who to be excited about. Thanks for a great season of helping digest the games each week!
The scouting department needs an overhaul imo. Just nowhere near good enough at drafting high impact players. And I don’t want to hear about draft position-plenty of teams can find meaningful contributors in days 2 and 3
Teddy Bruschi broke down the love interception over the middle to Baun. Baun understood Love perfectly, if love has two options he always throws to the deeper receiver, always. He dropped completely off his man underneath and fell into a deep zone because he knew Love was going to throw deeper and ignore the underneath guy wide ass open. They need to completely rethink their offense, it’s been unmasked.
He definitely doesn’t always go for deeper guy. He missed Watson on multiple occasions this season when he was open deep and went with the shorter throw.
@dpolenz79 Yeah, because the guy stopped running. Love trusted his guy to be where he was supposed to be and he quit on the play. That was not on Love. If Kraft kept running, its an easy catch in front of the linebacker.
@ he got chipped he didn’t stop running. The ball should have never been thrown. You can’t anticipate a throw directly over the middle into the teeth of the defense.
Jeff Hafley’s 1st season as the Packers defensive coordinator has to be seen as a huge success. Not only did the defense keep the Green Bay Packers in the game on Sunday, but Green Bay made significant strides in just about every defensive category this season overall, including points per game, and yards per play allowed. By points per game, the Packers improved from 10th to 6th. By yards per play allowed, the Packers improved from 20th to 5th. By DVOA, the Packers improved from 27th to 7th. By EPA/play, the Packers improved from 24th to 4th. By yards per game allowed, the Packers improved from 17th to 5th. By takeaways, the Packers improved from 17th to 5th. The overall performance on defense this season added legitimacy to the Packers’ statistical improvement in Jeff Hafley’s 1st season as the Packers DC, especially considering that the defense didn’t have Jaire Alexander for most of the year. Building on the leap forward may require another cornerback, and edge rusher from Brian Gutekunst in the 2025 NFL Draft for next season. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Any connection to the Offense struggling once Saleh coming in to consult and causing Matt to 2nd guess himself too much. Seems the packers struggles on Offense around that time...
My takeaway is that in the draft The “F them picks team” has kicked the crap out of the “draft and develop” one. They rebuilt that front while losing a HOF player in his prime. Gute has to be better especially in the 1st and 3rd round. This team lacks elite talent. Hoping we start drafting football players and not projects.
The Rams pass rush actually got better this year. With such a young core on that D Line, they will be good for years to come. 2 rookies and 2 2nd year guys, what a masterclass of drafting
@@noahs4606 it really is! Lots of people thought it was over when we lost Donald to retirement. Glad to see he helped train up Turner and the coaching really turned it up on the new guys.
Justis is again right on point with the OL talk. The OL is not built for playoff success, too many finesse guys and not enough big boys like Detroit or Philly. We’re a cold weather team that gets pushed around, it doesn’t make sense. The drafting OL philosophy needs to change, drafting Tackles and converting them works fine for the season but doesn’t get them post season success. It would be nice for once to set the tone physically offensively but we never have the guys to do it. Myers needs to go and replace him with a more physical presence.
@@michaelacker1617 Exactly and there lies the issue. All the playoffs losses since he's been coach have one common theme, OL gets bullied by a physical DL. We're a cold weather team not built for physical games, non sense.
Gute doesn't care about pricing anything to anyone if the team wins 10 games and gets into the playoffs. Don't hold your breath for an all-in Super Bowl run
The thing I see year after year, is our personnel are not playoff caliber. Our linemen on both sides of the ball are not dominant. That dominance is what separates the men from the boys come playoff time. Our quarterback is always under pressure, and there are no holes for the running backs. The opposite is true on defense. Their quarterback isn't under pressure much, and running lanes are huge at times. Gutekunst has to do some heavy retooling, or we're doomed to be okay in the regular season, and subpar in the playoffs. (Not good enough)
My thoughts on the 2024 Packers can be summed up in two plays from this game. Offense - late in the game they rushed 3 and sacked Jordan. That can't happen, if no one is open, run it or throw it away. Defense - that first TD by Phili, no pressure and an open WR for TD. In big moments the defense fails. Overall they look good, but when a stop is needed, they give it up.
As Justice said, love is not a mobile qb, at all. He’s honestly horribly unathletic. When he scrambles he looks like he’s going to tip over or trip on his own feet.
Defensive line is my biggest concern. How are we going to acquire more than one pass rusher that’s actually winning? Cox and Mosby seem good as rotational pieces but LVN and Gary are not cutting it. Gary especially was such a letdown this year smh
Love the Justis eps all year thx boys. Our Dline is literally all young guys Gutey drafted other than Kenny. 1st rounders, highly paid, etc. If we're now saying they are all lacking pass rush ability, that is either a huge indictment of Gutey or the coaches. And something has to change because continuing to draft the same type of guys or coaching them the same way would be insane.
Players win games, difference makers win championships. Jaire and Kenny are no longer in the latter category. Cooper gives every indication he is. Maybe Evan Williams will join fellow safety McKinney in this category. Bullard could as well.
Jaire is great when healthy. Just the damn health issues. As for Kenny. That’s one player we oddly held on to for far too long. He is no longer a great defensive force. No team is scared enough to consistently double team him. We need to get a dt that can play the run on the way to the qb and eats up bodies. It hurt us in these playoffs and will keep hurting our defense if not addressed this offseason.
I’ve been a Packers fan for 30 years but this is the first season I’ve ever really read the comments or interacted at all with the online fan base. That being said the amount of alarmist, the sky is falling folks blows my mind. Jordan Love spent 1/3rd of the season injured. One of our best players on defense was injured most of the year. Our most dynamic receiver got injured in the last game of the regular season. But we should fire LaFleur and Love is average. Wild.
So I say this. Remember mccarthy, bland, stale, predictable. That is where Matt laFRAUD is at. Everything is so predictable, bad clock management, bad challenges, team unprepared, undisciplined. If the nfl didn't change the playoff layout. The packers would of missed 3 years of playoffs. As long as lafraud is coach, don't expect to see a ring. GPG
Packers fandom is toxic af. Love has a nearly 3:1 td to int ratio and 2 playoff appearances in 2 years as starter. He's literally on a better pace than Rodgers was and fans still think he stinks. Probly the same fans who declared Rodgers would be a bum too.
@@donDubP The "weapons" are the biggest problem. Rarely open and when they do get open they drop it or fumble. Not one of them took a step forward this year. Reed looked like he was making a jump early on but then Doubs threw his temper tantrum and then Lafleur made Reed an afterthought. Keep Reed and dump the rest of them. Cant win with them.
The Love contract is going to be an albatross around the neck of the Packers unless he gets his head on straight. Sure he was struggling through injuries this season which limited his physical abilities, but his decision making ands reads were horrendous.
Love through 2 years as starter: 2.6:1 td to int ratio and 2 playoff appearances including 1 win and one of the best playoff performances from a qb of all time. Rodgers through 2 years: 2.9 td to int ratio with 1 playoff appearance and 0 wins. Love is literally right on pace with Rodgers even tho Rodgers inherited a team that was 1 play from the super bowl and Love has had the youngest team in football both years. Time to take a deep breathe and settle down.
The difference is that at the time Rodgers wasn’t the second highest paid quarterback in the NFL. Love may turn out to be another case of Gutey betting on potential. He does not have a good track record in that regard.
@bugtussle7475 Apples to oranges. Rodgers got his first extension just a few games into his 1st year starting. Love got his extension after having one of the best stretches of qb play in recent memory and one of the best playoff games by a qb of all-time. Oh how quickly people forget just to push a narrative. His contract doesnt even hurt their salary cap until like 2027, in which they'll restructure anyways. Stop being a crybaby cuz they lost. The game was over before Love even touched the ball.
@@bugtussle7475the biggest thing fans would be wise to understand is what Love’s contract actually is. He never counts against the cap as a top 10 QB until 2028 when the contract will get reworked anyways. The contract isn’t hampering the team and the alternative is to start over. Fans should be thankful the contract isn’t structured like some of the other highly paid QBs who have double the cap hits of Love.
I live in Burley, idaho, basically just down the street from utah State; and it was a shock to many that Love even got drafted He was hurt all the time at USU, and he threw 22 INT's. I mean, the byu fans literally laughed and made fun of ua Packer fans There was a craze going on in the NFL at that time period. The black QB,, and GB got caught up in it.
Hey Pack A Day team. I'm very interested in learning how the Packers grow in player evaluations for drafts. How do we trend in a positive direction on evaluating skills, what traits are trainable vs whats the cutoff for a lost cause .I will say Green Bay is great at finding guys with high character, but i feel like we dont have an identity on what we want to be on either side of the ball.
This loss was tough in a personnel standpoint. I feel like the packers are good at most positions but have no dominant player at any of them especially offence and defensive lines. Run blocking doesn't get push and no pass rush against teams that have those guys
@ Defense is top 10 in every category, top 5 in most. While having players in and out the lineup every week. You’re not going to hold good teams for long. The offense have to do their part. Offenses in the league averages 300+ yards a game. The Packers defense allows right at 300 yards. I believe the Eagles are the only defense in that allows less than that. They allow 280-290 yards a game.
This is Jordan’s second year as a starter. This fanbase can be unbelievably annoying. Entitled town strikes again. Take a look at Favre’s and Aaron’s second years and then get back with me.
Fine. Ill say it. Bring back Davante. Yes, we have a good core of young receivers but A.) Injuries persist and B.) I think they could really benefit from a veteran prescence
Our receiving corp stinks. Not sure Adams is the answer tho. Going backwards isnt the way. Might want to take a look at Tee Higgins. Love doesnt have anyone who can go up and get the ball like Higgins can.
Zach Tom needs to be moved to center. We need a much bigger body at RT. Jenkins is not who he was. Josh Myers has never been a dominant player. We need upgrades.
The Packers have a strong young team. I'd say give them time to grow, draft depth, sign a few key free agents and focus on Jordan Love growing and improving.
@jakeg9700 The Packers have free agent options at corner, wide receiver and more. Draft offensive line, linebacker, defensive tackle. Go pursue free agents that fill big gaps and put the Packers in contention.
@jakeg9700 When you have a young core of great players under rookie contracts and a team that only needs a few key pieces, you go get those pieces with your cap money. McKinney clearly is with Green Bay for legacy after seeing him on Valentine on the sideline after Goedert embarrased Valentine on that TD run. And Jacobs is clearly there too as evidenced that he showed up big when everyone else were failing. Gute sure did choose the correct free agents who earned every penny and played to the highest standard.
Don't you think it's his decision-making process in the slowly collapsing pocket that is the issue? We see the holes as the pocket slowly collapses as he scans the field. So either the receivers are blanketed (no one is open) or he's not seeing the field very well. Either way, if the hole is there, take off. In 2023, Jordan had almost 250 yards rushing, but this year, only 80+. I don't believe he's that slow getting going, it's his lack of conviction to run when the hole is there.
We need to upgrade the O-Line and the D-Line. I think if we bring in a demolition man like Max Crosby. Maybe his level of talent will unlock and raise the level of play across the D-Line. Teams know the Packers get home with a pass rush when LB is involved ! It's too obvious . That has to change. This is a good video because you're identifying a lot of points i recognized during the season 👍🏻 As for the hiring process. Forget the color thing and give the job whos best qualified.
You draft and sign free agent players that have excellent backgrounds as far as character, stay away from the DIVA's and the injured. Need some veterans that have won championships and can show the younger players the right way. Being youngest team in the league means nothing if they are running around without direction. Solid coaches that are proven, not reputation. All players attend all OTA's and come in ready to go in 25.
I put my money on the Packers every year, and the bookies keep on taking it. I know that Love is not the man. It has been obvious for two years. Love is better than me, but I walk with a stick. La Fleur is too nice to make hard decisions. Get Rid. The Pack are about winning, and just reaching the first game of the playoffs is not enough. Complacency has set in. Statement sackings are required to encourage the others. Coaches and players are taking the easy money and not delivering the performance on the field. Love can be back up. La Fleur can go to The Jets, Dallas, or Chicago. Teams that are more at his level. Next year can not be another repeat of this bullshit. Something has to change, and I don't mean the office cleaning lady.😒
How competitive and prideful is Love. I think he has superstar potential but he didn't step forward more this year. Will he get after it to improve in the off season or just accept the season and hope for better days. Does he have any Tom Brady fire in him?
we have tailback positioned covered. we have one really solid TE. We have a pretty good WR in Reed. And, a couple solid OL to go with a really good one. An intriguing QB prospect in Willis. But thats it. oh...great punter. Decent Kicker.....Defense I will not address. But they played their ass off against Philly. Lots of questions marks at the corners. But defense way ahead of Offense now.
Right from the start when they ruled that fumble eagles ball the reviewer it with a clear shot that Nixon had the ball and the call still stood i knew we were in for a long day
I’m not mad about the Packers loss, because I conditioned it on Jordan Love’s mobility. I said if Jordan Love tried to play from the pocket the Packers had no chance of winning the game. If the Packers had any chance Jordan Love had to be a playmaker of the Josh Allen variety. That didn’t happen and the Packers loss. It was an easy prediction, given that the Lion’s cracked the code on the Packers offense, and Minnesota and Chicago followed suit. Make the Packers receivers win one on one matchups. That was the code. The Packers receivers proved they couldn’t do it, and Christian Watson being out only magnified the problem.
@@williamhermann6635 It’s not about putting it all on Love. There were a lot of things that contributed to the loss, injuries, penalties, you name it. I’m simply stating that Love had to play at an MVP level for the Packers to even have a chance of winning, and he didn’t do that.
@@HELLRASR Thats nearly impossible for the qb to do all by himself against the best defense in football. Nobody showed up on offense. Felt like it was early in the 2023 season again.
I feel like if love wasn’t healthy, he shouldn’t have played early in the season. Let Malik play and let LOVE GET TO 100%. Packers had a soft schedule and ended up 1 and 5 in division (i know I know hindsight). But I’d rather have a healthy Malik than a 70% love
My prediction for how the Packers spend. 1 of DJ Reed, Carlton Davis, Asante Samuel. Malcolm Koonce. A later swing Oline veteran. Top 4 rounds in draft: CB WR DT OT.
The Jordan Love Honeymoon is over. We expect more from here. Seeing the results of some of the playoff games like the Rams blowing out the Vikings tells me the Packers have far to go and a lot that needs fixing. Even the WR group now looks like it needs upgrade. Davante Adams is too old now. I still want to see young guys that can grow with the Team. Packers need upgrades at LT, C, WR, CB, DI, ED for sure. That is needing to draft 6 guys in the top 50 and they have only 2 picks. They will have to have high hits in the the 3rd-7th rnds.
Okay 😂 this is hilarious. Do you realize how hard it is for a team to make a post season? Do you realize there’s actual pro teams with actual grown men making millions upon millions annually that have never made the post season? And you’re crying about losing a playoff game? Jordan Love may not be Pat Mahomes in his prime, but the dude has taken this packers team to back to back winning seasons and back to back playoff berths…. If you want to really have something to cry about go switch colors and root for a team like Chicago or the jets
Guys will be fine. The game plan and play calling didn't help. Our oline was terrible this game. We have the most drops of any room in the league, they better figure out that issue
We might need 3-4 losing seasons to the town of 3- 14 in order to have an ability of drafting premium genetic stock and lay a foundation in the trenches on both sides of the ball. You look at the teams that dominate, they all have big physical moulers up front. We have been winning for so long and drafting so late that it has finally caught up. Build a big physical smashmouth foundation, then look for a QB Love is a clipboard holder
The harsy reality about this off-season is the packers may be more conservative than ever with murphy retiring. How much money do they sink into guys ed policy may not even want?
Conservative in what? player acquisition? Policy isn’t blocking the team from buying a couple free agents when they got money to spend unless Gutey and company go completely uncharacteristic and are trying for a massive overpay that makes no sense.
Big weekend for us 2020 draft skeptics. If Rodgers ever played a playoff game as bad as Love just did, people like Gary Beatty would still be bringing it up in chat. Love the Pack, but the commanders just made it farther with a worse roster and a QB who didn’t have to sit for three years to play mediocre ball.
🤔 what's next for the Packers if the organization is smart enough they should fire Matt LaFleur today's let's be honest this guy doesn't know how to play and win playoffs,,
I have never been to high with Love being the elite QB that everyone said he was. I have always seen many flaws with Love and this year all those flaws came to light. I don't see a QB who puts in the time and effort to improve to a next level every year and every game. The eagles game I did not see any excitement from him or leadership. You saw it in Jacobs but Love is the leader of the team and I didn't really see much from Love. As long as Love is QB I see many years of lackluster performance with really no elevation in his game play.
Majority of the good CBs in this draft are coming off season ending injuries.. Vote for throwing draft capital at desperate teams like Browns for Denzel Ward (Garrett’s contract/asking price would be too high for Gutey).? I’m still mad we didn’t draft B.Fiske
This offseason and the 2025 season will be the proof in the pudding. Can Love make the necessary progress to consistently perform at the high level he flashes and had significant stretches of the end of 2023? Or is he a streaky, inconsistent high-level athlete with not quite enough between the ears to not be reckless? Can Lafleur make the necessary adjustments and command the discipline needed from his coaches and players in order to get over the hump? Can Guety add more immediate impact players and not stop reaching for high-ceiling athletes in the 1st round of the draft that may or may not pan out in 3-4 years? We'll see... In any case, I don't mind vying for the division and making the playoffs with a chance of going all the way nearly every season. A few tweaks here and there with some things falling into place and the Packers make it happen. I'll take that over the the purgatory that over half of the teams in the league are in.
Eagles gave up a 1st round pick and a huge contract for AJ Brown… As long as it’s the right guy do it. Milton Williams is the man he can play the run…do not sell the farm for Tee Higgins who is always hurt & not elite regardless.
I wonder what happened with Jaire Alexander. This seems more than a physical issue. I liked his play and his different personality. Something went wrong.
Injury? Omg he had multiple injuries while being brought at least a week too early on key division games plus the injury in last game vs bears (did you not watch the jags game?) - no one know show that affected him vs eagles
Ok now that I had time to think about ànd I've come to one conclusion why we lost all 7 games and it was leadership here me out I'm talking bout our vocal leaders our players like tucker kraft Elton Jenkins Jayden Reed guys that's natural leaders have a great work ethic that sees what need to be said in game to galvanized the troop in game like when we need a stop or we need to score those guys have to be more vocal verbally hold ppl accountable I know there young but someone from our years 2 and 3 guys must rise and be those vocal leaders to look teammates in the face get on they ass if need be I love the love that we got in our locker room props for matt Lafluer for creating that culture but it's time for our young leaders to step up and start demanding more from each other and also josh Jacobs and Xman they are absolutely leaders of men but u know how it go u go to a new team and u just trying to blend in not really offend nobody u know things that a new good teammate would do but like u said the honeymoon is over those 2 specifically seen exactly who not fully dialed in or who lacks that mental toughness that dog ..but they didn't get on those guys becuz it was they first test wit the team ..F that now that's over we need to step up even more be more vocal be the leaders of this team and get in guys ASS I promise u BIG ANDY lack of our new and young leaders being more vocal in in game situation holding teammates to a higher standard is why we lost all our games why do have slow starts lack of leadership Lafluer can preach all day but it's the leaders among the player that set the standard that raises the level of play when we need a drive or a stop so PackerWorld don't panic we are so good we a young team and you know how sports go u got to take to lumps in order to become tough enough to win and win is what we will do watch o and shout out to Detroit for setting the bar as far as building a tough and mentally tough team that's the standard so what we gone do Packers that's build our team with those same if not better just like years ago when the NFC west was a monster 49ers set the tone with their physical play and the Seahawks Cardinals and rams started building their team with a similar toughness I know it sucks we out I swear I hate but I'm so excited for our future and last stop it with the Jordan Love and Matt Lafluer doubt they both still young and what we not gone do is be like these disfunctional franchises we gone get behind our guys be patient we the Green Bay MF PACKERS baby #PackerWorld remember that #MrGreenBayAllDayAllTheWayFromLATay Said It💚💛🧀🧀🧀😤😤😤😤
is anyone surprised the Packers screwed up the OL in a playoff game or line in general, History has shown they will screw it up. Monk should have been in there. He played well when he played earlier in the year. Maybe the Fine tooth comb, will figure out what the problem is, or probably not. Gone Jaire, Stokes, TJ Slaton, Zaine, Wilson, and McDuffie. I'm feeling Justis on the OL & Love combination, but you can't turn over that many players in a year or 2. So MLF needs to figure this offense out, passing game in general. WR team needs two new bodies. Probably 1 vet, Corner is in the same boat, 1 vet. Limited draft picks, unless Team trades out of the 1st round with the draft in GB; is that possible, I doubt it. New DL coach and assistant?? we can only hope.
If the QB is out there he has to perform, so skip the injuries being a cause with Love’s inaccurate passes. And don’t blame the O-Line for Jordan being a less than average QB. The real discussion needs to be did the Packers make a big mistake giving a pedestrian QB a mega contract. And, should they consider having a competition with Malik Willis to determine who really is the better QB to go along with this Jacobs run first offense.
I don't understand what the point of this "discussion" about Jordan is when he's going to be the guy for the next 3 years regardless. Just accept it at this point. Not to mention, Willis looked pretty bad when he came in during the Chicago game - popped for a fumble, air-mailing it to receivers who made nice catches. He's a good backup, not a starter. In the games he won, LaFleur schemed to his strengths in a way that - for inexplicable reasons - he did not do with Jordan basically all year. The discussion has to be around getting Jordan help, whether that's playmakers, O-line, play-calling (all of the above, really). Very, very few QBs in this league look good in a vacuum (Lamar and Allen are maybe the exceptions). Even Mahomes has been pedestrian this year.
@ - do you know Daniel Jones was given a huge contract by the Giants after one playoff win vs. Minnesota and so after they had to cut him in contract because he under performed? The discussion is needed because this could prove to be the case with Love with GB making a colossal mistake by giving him a mega contract without waiting one more full season. You believe there’s no chance Love is not an elite franchise QB? Willis lost one fumble but in that game was 10-13 passing and he has thrown no picks and is 3-0. His QBR rating is way over 100. When you watched the GB defense play their hearts out getting Philly to punt 5 times down 10-0 did you think Love had every opportunity to get his team a win? Didn’t you think that Love should have at least made it a close game vs. Philly? Did you see Love DO ANYTHING in that playoff game that gave you confidence that he is a top tier QB - in any way - and really worth close to what he’s being paid; $55 million a year? His stats over the season on straight drop back passes show he is an inaccurate passer (only 57%) - and is at the bottom of NFL QBs on passes over 10 yards. Why are excuses always made like he needs a #1 receiver and a better O-Line rather than consider that Love is just not a very good QB under the pressure of big games? Do you really believe the mantra “Love just needs to play better” will somehow make him make more accurate passes and better decisions on pass drop backs? I don’t. The reality is that he is a poor NFL QB at this point. He regressed when he should have gotten better. The reality also is that Love played a horrendous game vs the Eagles and embarrassed the Packers organization with three picks that were each very inaccurate throws. That’s a real problem up for discussion.
@ This is a weird season to evaluate for Jordan. The first game in Brazil was played in a swamp and I don't put much stock into it. He was injured at the end of that game and didn't look right physically until the bye. After the bye he was returning to end-of-2023 form until the Minnesota game, after which he has definitely played badly. The dropback passing stat is bad. There are other stats you can point to this year that show that he is a top-12 QB. The drop rate for his receivers was awful (yes, this is also an accuracy stat in part, but also, catch the damn ball). But, yes, eye test says he has not played well enough in 2024. I just don't understand why people want to nuke the franchise given the volatility and low sample size. Every time he throws a pick or Matt calls a bad game, people want to burn it all down. The contract is the contract. If you want to point to Daniel Jones, letting him go did not improve the Giants and their organization is a complete dumpster fire right now. That contract is not the only reason why their future looks bleak. I doubt Jones will ever become a starting-caliber QB, but you can't argue that he was put in a great position to succeed, either. I'll grant you that there's no more "accident forgiveness" now. If Jordan doesn't get significantly better in 2025, I'm more willing to entertain the conversation. What I guarantee you, though, is that the Packers are not entertaining it, so I'd rather spend my time thinking about how the offense can improve with Jordan rather than without him.
@ - appreciate your response about how you view the Love contract and performance. Still would like an honest answer about if you saw anything in his play vs. Philly that leads you to believe he is a franchise QB…or if you thought while watching that he should have been able to make that big playoff game closer based on how hard the GB defense was playing?
@@petervaichus6978 I thought he was horrible. A liability. There's no getting around it. I don't buy the argument that it was injuries, either - the early one to Jenkins hurt the offense for sure, but he wasn't "down his top 3 weapons" until the middle of the second half. The first half was absolutely abysmal. That pick to Baun... yikes. The hospital ball to Doubs in the end zone *got* him injured, too. The tendency that worries me the most about Jordan - which I think hasn't been talked about enough - really showed up on the play where he was scrambling out of the pocket to his left, and instead of throwing it away, he half-flung it laterally to a receiver (Reed, maybe? Could have been a RB) who didn't even think the ball was coming. It fell incomplete, fortunately, but that behavior has produced a hilariously bad pick-6 and other interceptions this year. He panics. I attribute the off-his-back-foot throws to this as well, at least in part. If that can't be coached out of him, then no, I don't think you can win with him. I don't exactly know why he doesn't look mentally right this year. The passing offense is disjointed with him on the field in way that it wasn't in the second half of last year up until the end of the Niners game. My (mostly uninformed) opinion is that LaFleur has kind of broken him, relative to 2023? As Andy and others have said a number of times, why they were running things out of shotgun and not under center was mystifying (just as one example). If he's not great at dropback passing, why have him dropback pass so much? There's a clear disconnect. As far as Willis is concerned, Chicago game aside, he has looked good in the other 2.5 games he played. More than that, the offense just seemed to "click" overall (and even in that game, the offense was better with him on the field). However, I tend to think that's more a function of MLF streamlining and tailoring the game plan to Willis than Willis being an elite QB. Why he can't or doesn't do the same for Jordan, I don't know. They need to figure it out for next year.
Telfort gets no love on this channel, he gets in they score what are you talkin about, plus he is a tackle playing guard against the best in the league
I respect both of you but you over analyze our o line. They do just fine. The problem is our receivers do not create separation and when Watson is out of the game ( which is half of the time), there's gonna be picks because we are the only team in the division without a true number one. Reed is a two and the rest are all threes. Our receivers suck . They can,t get open and drop balls all the time. You can have the world's best o line and with that recipe you are still gonna get the same results. Bad receivers= bad qb
The nfc title game was easy to swallow? That actually changes my entire opinion on this channel, that's the worst packers loss I've seen in 30 years, worse than 07 by far. Or are you saying this was almost as bad, cause that's not even close to true, bucs, niners divisional both were much harder to accept due to the obvious writing on the wall. Anybody who isn't taking this loss hard doesn't understand the future is bleak
The future is bleak??? This must be a troll. The youngest team in the NFL went 11-6 😂. They need to keep building Hafleys defense up in the draft and free agency. They made leaps and bounds on that side of the ball with changing scheme and having 3 rookies start and impact. The offense took a step back but they were still productive. Jordan Love needs to be more consistent and if this is a down year for him well then like Rodgers it’s better than half the qbs in the league that have career years. Some of you fans overreact like divas and it’s hilarious. @AndyHerman and many others have said the window doesn’t open until ‘25. They have got playoff experience ahead of schedule.
@markmiller4286 wow 11-6 by beating the colts, the titans, barely escaping the jaguars, the saints, the bears, the rams without any of their stars, the Seahawks, the Cardinals.. 😂 wow how impressive compared to last season when they beat the chiefs and lions. This team came in and couldn't match the expectations set before the season, and obviously have more holes than we wanted to admit after last season. Jordan love is not the answer, Matt lafleur is not the answer, and frankly Brian gutekunst is not the answer. They couldn't build on a championship contending roster and they aren't building on the youngest team, all that has been is an excuse. They went home a round earlier than last season when they were a year younger so who gives a shit about their age, alot of teams who get close never even make it back, whether they are young or old. There are no guarantees, well except the guarantees on contracts to be average or unavailable like jaire, love, and rashan Gary. We see how far that got the team.
I’m at the point where I don’t ever want to draft a first round cornerback again. If you want a good corner get a proven vet who can play and stay healthy. The packers have ZERO, ZERO corners out of all those first or second round picks that will end up being true pro bowl all pro players for more than 1 or 2 years. The packers philosophy is flawed and they need to reevaluate how they scout and grade corners. We count have had TJ WATT!!!! we passed him up for a corner who’s been hurt most of the time since having a good 2 years. Imagine if we had TJ Watt and got a top corner in free agency instead of Z smith or Preston smith. We could have drafted Gary, I’d rather have Brian burnes but either way if we brought in 2 top corners and TJWatt next to Burns or Gary we would be so much better!! If the packers went corner instead of TE in free agency years ago instead of drafting Rollins and Randal they would have been a SB team. They paid top dollar for terrible TE play and drafted bad corners.
Remember guys; Young team, a ton of injuries, still went to the playoffs. We are on the verge, don’t give in now. We are growing with our team. Greatness doesn’t happen over night.
now we need to go get tyreek hill devonte adams Maxx crosbee draft some oline guys and cb and edge rushers get new offensive coordinator and special teams coordinator let oc call the plays cuz lafail can't play call big games he's to conservative and safe it's y we can't make it to the big game
Amen brother!!
Also, Love got sacked way less than Darnold. Thank goodness for that.
Amen, brother! GO PACK GO!
Hate to say it but that Rams defense would’ve crashed our night as well lol
@@RustyBlumpkinsright, this organization is (allegedly) always planning for the future but yet is a couple years behind? Mm mm somethin aint right
Love the Mike Wahle and other guests but my favorite are these Justis chats.
Justis and Ben fennel. Hirachorn is good
Same here!
Justis keeps it real, that’s why he’s so likable. Tells it how it is.
The Narrative of this team:
The Green Bay Packers don’t intimidate ANYONE!!!
24:38 this is my thing. If hafley wants to run a system that has the front 4 winning, then they need a whole new front 4.
Bigger stronger, faster defensive linemen will definitely help what ails the Packers. That goes for the offensive line too!
The scouting department needs an overhaul imo. Just nowhere near good enough at drafting high impact players. And I don’t want to hear about draft position-plenty of teams can find meaningful contributors in days 2 and 3
No, they need to do less stunts and games. Hafley spams them to death.
@@williamhermann6635 When they can’t win one on one, Hafley needs to try other things.
@bugtussle7475 What one on ones? Doing the mush rush just trying to keep Hurts in the pocket?
Teddy Bruschi broke down the love interception over the middle to Baun. Baun understood Love perfectly, if love has two options he always throws to the deeper receiver, always. He dropped completely off his man underneath and fell into a deep zone because he knew Love was going to throw deeper and ignore the underneath guy wide ass open. They need to completely rethink their offense, it’s been unmasked.
He definitely doesn’t always go for deeper guy. He missed Watson on multiple occasions this season when he was open deep and went with the shorter throw.
Did you actually watch the play? Tucker Kraft just stopped running.
@ the ball that was thrown was not going to be caught by any human being alive regardless. It was an awful throw and read.
The pain! The Pain! 13 playoff losses in the last 20 years. It has to stop. And no not by not making the playoffs!
Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Love these collaborate with Justis!! His analysis is top-notch.
@ Jared Verse is already on the cusp of being a top 5 pass rusher in the NFL. Must be nice lol!
Their also not built for what Lafleur wants to do their usually great in pass pro but this team is not a good run blocking unit.
@@michaelacker1617 Exactly and there lies the issue. All the playoffs losses since he's been coach have one common theme, OL gets bullied by a physical DL. We're a cold weather team not built for physical games, non sense.
The Jets are the Bears of the AFC.
2025 will be a huge, prove it year for Love, MLF and Gutekunst.
Get the WR and corner in free agency. Then you can nail O line and D line early in the draft.
It’s been said before, I’m sure, but Justis Mosqueda is knowledgeable. He & Mike Wahle are my favorite guests.
Same here
Defensive line is my biggest concern. How are we going to acquire more than one pass rusher that’s actually winning? Cox and Mosby seem good as rotational pieces but LVN and Gary are not cutting it. Gary especially was such a letdown this year smh
I agree totally with Justis- games are won in the trenches- Gute needs to upgrade both the O& D lines for starters.
Needed this therapy session
Not giving up pics for anyone.
Certain players need to realize, be it via conversation or waiver wire, that the NFL isn't a part-time job.
The disc invite link in desc is invalid. Anyone have one that's up to date?
It sucks that Kenny is so washed
@@richardcheese9152 Hes not a 4-3 player.
Agreed! Leave the offensive weapons alone, if anything build the O-Line..
Love and the entire receiving core regressed. Its painfully obvious
I am predicting JA$ walks, we sign a decent FA CB and draft 3 more. Exactly what we did at safety last offseason.
He is still signed long term, so it's either they cut him or he takes a pay cut.
So if Alexander goes elsewhere and performs at a high level, do we start the conversation of how packers mismanage injuries?
Now what? We get ready for next season, rest and heal those injuries, perfect those plays you never perfected yet.
I don't hear anyone talking about offense without Watson and before he went down after the bye. People saying now we have no receivers.
Thank you, Justis knows what he's talking about. Michael Barrett is a way better option then Mcduffie or Wilson.
I live in Burley, idaho, basically just down the street from utah State; and it was a shock to many that Love even got drafted
He was hurt all the time at USU, and he threw 22 INT's.
This defense is probably going to be number 1 next season
I guarantee you they won't even be top 10. Same exact story as the offense going into last off-season, overrated.
@ lmao. What a take. The offense ok. The defense actually is the part lmao. The film and stats prove that..
@@JoTrev1 come back and revisit this next season.
@@JoTrev1 give me what you smoking
Agreed! Higgins is definitely the way to go! Pay that man!!
Key words are draft for DEPTH (instead of current needs) and sign a FEW free agents (not enough to make the team competitive for a Super Bowl)
@jakeg9700 The Packers have free agent options at corner, wide receiver and more. Draft offensive line, linebacker, defensive tackle. Go pursue free agents that fill big gaps and put the Packers in contention.
Time will tell, but I think Gute's track reviews of protecting long term stability over short term success is clear
Id definitely take a look at chase young on a cheaper deal and Jedrick Willis on the offensive line depth
This is a good video because you're identifying a lot of points i recognized during the season 👍🏻
As for the hiring process. Forget the color thing and give the job whos best qualified.
I agree the offensive line did not play well. There were alot of guys consistently in his face
How is it that still need pass rushers after drafting 2 first rounders in the last 5 years??
We have the worst fan base in football.
Bring back the Daily Draft!
This game was over before Love even touched the ball. Putting it all on Love is what casuals do.
@ Josh Allen is literally the Bills offense. Compare the receivers Josh Allen throws to to the receivers Jordan Love throws to.
NO DAVANTE! He’s only effective if your QB is super accurate and on time with his throws.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we traded Kenny and completely rebuild this DL
As much as you want to hang it on Love, the whole team has been playing badly.
Build a big physical smashmouth foundation, then look for a QB
Love is a clipboard holder
The harsy reality about this off-season is the packers may be more conservative than ever with murphy retiring. How much money do they sink into guys ed policy may not even want?
Why would people look for tee Higgins?? He’s gonna be way too expensive plus he misses games! 5 this year!
Conservative in what? player acquisition? Policy isn’t blocking the team from buying a couple free agents when they got money to spend unless Gutey and company go completely uncharacteristic and are trying for a massive overpay that makes no sense.
why did the take the opening kickoff in play when it should have been 1st down at the 30...1st blown call !!
As talented as Love his, his decision making skills have always been his drawback, and sadly you cant teach decision making under pressure
Andy can you check the stats you use? That multi pick game one. Patrick Mahomes has 6 in that time frame. Are we concerned about Mahomes?
Next season need improvements from everyone, if not heads have to roll
I believe that Malik will be the better qb, long-term. Obviously, time will tell, but Loves time is running out.
Packers must rebuild both interior Lines. OL & DL. Let Tom go. He’s too small. Then concentrate on edge rushers big time!
Walker , Jenkins, Tom, Rhyan, Morgan RT
Why does Gutekunst get a pass?
This fan base has become an embarrassment. Most spoiled fan base in football and its never enough.
LaFleur is not impressing me anymore but let’s not discount the fact that the Rodgers playoff losses were cuz Rodgers tanked those games on purpose.
So, do we need corner, edge, Oline, Dline, receiver??? Not looking great
Edge/DLine are the same in 4-3 basically
A corner and dline in the first 2 rounds. Stokes is a bust and kenny was awful this year. Need to refill and solidfy those positions.
Davante?
Yes. You get immediate help at wr, and then maybe he can help teach the young guys footwork and HOW TO CATCH
Packers arent going backwards with Davante
justis be positive challenge impossible
Injury? Omg he had multiple injuries while being brought at least a week too early on key division games plus the injury in last game vs bears (did you not watch the jags game?) - no one know show that affected him vs eagles
Steno is toast in GB.
Matt’s a hack! Jordan is far from elite! Might be the worst contract since making Watson the highest paid qb.
Nagler is a jinx
Jaire is still great...when he's on the field. The coverage statistics show that. Unfortunately, kenny isn't. He's gone
If Love and our coach played and coached with the heart Jacob’s runs the ball we would be in the superbowl
The game was just a comedy of mistakes on play calling and QB, love should have been benched at half time and back up should have been on
2025 Regression, way too many wasted picks in the first round have led to this happening.
Sounds like you guys are sayings a rebuild on defense and offense. Move to older guys and less young guys.
