  • Niger's new military rulers are in a standoff with the West and some of their neighbours - refusing to hand back power to the man they ousted.
    The country's borders are closed, but President Mohamed Bazoum has been in contact with the outside world, speaking to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, among others.
    So what is the future for the vast country and key Western ally?

    What I understood from this Video is that the Coupe has presented America with an opportunity to push France out of Niger without lifting a finger and now they are waiting for the perfect moment to come in and continue the neo-colonial resource extraction. However the competition from Russia is going to be difficult and they are using the thread of ECOWAS to create a degree of separation and keep the French and other powers from military action.

      Yes, but your not really going see them fighting the French. If you want see another Africa conflict then it going to probably be in Rwanda. The Niger army so small, Rwandans and Nigerian armies are at lease 5 times a big maybe more then the Niger army. So we will not see much fighting in Niger.

    • @mshepard2264
      @mshepard2264 9 місяців тому +1

      they don’t have the infrastructure to refine the uranium. The price of un refined uranium ore is not very high and many of other countries have ore. So even if the new government takes 100% of the profits and distributes it perfectly fairly there isn’t going to be enough money.

      a) whatever the market price of Uranium Niger should get it not France;
      b) Niger also sells other minerals like gold which they should benefit from, not some foreign Corporation.
      They have plenty of wealth. They just need a fair price in a proper currency, not discount prices in French Colonial "monopoly money".

    Niger has a birth rate of almost 7 children per woman. This explosion is in no way manageable, by no system, by no government, by no nation. Think just about the problem of educating the children. If you want to have a class size of 28 children, that would mean that 25% of the adults would have to work as teachers. While in Europe with 1,5 children they need only 4% of the adults to work as teachers. The result? The average school education an all overall level of knowledge is miserable. Africa creates Generation after Generation millions and millions of useless youth. This is also the reason why 50% of all African immigrants have no job in Europe, even after 10 years. The economy today so highly complicated and technically developed as it was never before. There is simply no use for uneducated people, nowhere on this planet. Unskilled labor is done by machines and robots.
    Africa must solve this problem alone, nobody can, will or should solve it for them.
