  • I recently captured and processed the stunning M13 globular cluster. This video covers the entire journey: setting up the NINA session, stacking images in SIRIL, processing the final image in PixInsight, and taking you on an astronomical tour of M13's fascinating features. Whether you're an experienced astrophotographer or a beginner, you'll find valuable insights and tips to enhance your own astrophotography skills. Thanks, Kevin. I finally covered a Glob on the channel. I left room for some more discussion on Globs which I will cover as I do more of them. Thanks for the comments and support!

Great video and great image, David! I absolutely love the background information you provide, as well as the imaging/processing detail, of course! Absolutely great. Thank you for that. In addition to the propeller (peace sign) there are also some dark lanes on the opposite side of the cluster I can see in yours. (I checked my image of M13 on astrobin (CingStars) and saw them as well.) I wonder if they're more than just dust lanes, especially since some of them are so linear. I don't see any good explanation of them. BTW, they put a new lens in my SVX90T this week (to save me the time of them having to investigate the problem!) and it goes to QC next week so I should have it back the first week of July (fingers crossed!). I just absolutely the service and support from Stellarvue. Really heads and shoulders above most other companies. Thank you again for a fantastic video and all the information!!

Cool - I will examine the image more closely. If they are dust lanes, they are absolutely separate from the cluster itself. Has to be somewhere between us and M13. I'm really happy with the level of resolution in the core of this image, and it was surprisingly painless to process. Glad to hear Vic and team are handling your concern so well, I am a big fan of Stellarvue the company and I love the SVX090T. Will be taking it on the road soon. Keep me posted when yours returns..
