The Toro is tough just happens I have one for sale in Michigan, she is a beaut. GM-1000 with transport wheels, and grass catcher. Shameless plug....great video, and yo are not kidding the toro's do move like a beast.
love your video . I can fix all kinds of engines and whatever but my wife bought a real push mower about five years ago and she use the one time and I need a coil for one of my mowers and I’m gonna call Heidi tonight that Scott’s real mower and I can level spots in the yard
You don't need to have a super level yard my friend. My last lawn was no where near level! It does help though. Try picking up a manual off Facebook markerplace!
Tell me what you think about this Colin...I was going to film an unboxing, make it quick, but then film me using it right out the box and give my first initial thoughts. Just raw, uncut, no music, no editing. What do you think?
@@Dadstuf that sounds good! Unbox, pure reel mowing, then a recap and initial thoughts. Almost 0 content on the Stirling on UA-cam so hopefully you can be one of the first!
Hello from Algonac! Can you do a comparison between a regular mower and a reel mower? Just bought a house built in 1920 and kinda want to use old technology to mow this beautiful yard.
I'm also in a 1920 house, wanting to keep lawn tech eco-friendly. I started with the Great States reel seen here, but the grass grows these tall, stiff oat-looking things that don't really get cut down. I don't care, but I'm sure the neighbors do. Looking for alternatives.
Great video as always Clint! When did you film this? The grass seems significantly greener than what I am seeing over here, everything is still dormant. Tired of these cold days and snow, looking forward to temps warming up and seeing everything green up! 😎
@@Dadstuf after more research, I have to agree. Also, as a Canadian, I may have come over to your side since Allett has a Canadian website, which makes them actually much more affordable for me. Keep up the good work brother.
Is that a sea wall or a lake wall? If you're in Michigan you're Lakes littoral rather than oceanic littoral so I probably don't need to worry about you not raising the sea wall. I don't like low mowing for a sward I want to keep as a sward, but for weakening a lawn so new plants can compete, this info is very useful.
Dude.... the Stirling is like double the cost of the Liberty. I know the carts are easier to change but otherwise I can't imagine it being worth that cost. Good luck though. You must be rich, haha :)
Addiction????? Before the power lawn mower that’s all there was. It is still the best way to cut your lawn because it doesn’t use gas, it gives the user a lot of exercise especially if he takes it afterwards it gives whoever a break from the stress of the day, time to just take their time and enjoy the time to enjoy the improvements they create. Nobody says you have to do it all in one day. If one can great! If you can’t great! That means you’ll get more exercise the next day. The thing is when to do it. After dinner when it is cooler is the best time. If you do it in the middle of the day and kits really hot the grass will burn. It’s not a burden too do something that will improve your home and your health. If you are old hire a kid to do it for you
I love it! These are all 100% facts. I manual reel mow my lawn majority of the time and only use the others to stripe it. It is a way healthier way of lawncare for the individual and the lawn!
Don’t scalp your lawn, not below 2 and pref 3-4” and cut at least once a week, pref twice a week. That length he has - too short. If you can see any soil, you are inviting weeds. Remember the long the top growth, the long the roots. And you want long roots in the event of drought.
Every battery powered piece of lawn equipment I’ve bought, has lasted me over 4 years now on the same batteries. Lawn mowers, weed wackers, hedge trimmers, blowers. All very good tools. I love not having to keep gallons of gas around. Plus it’s very quiet and no maintenance 🤷♂️
@bigj7574 🙏🏻🤟 i have had the same experience. No gas cans and silence. In my early days my greenworks 40v was trash. Very weak, but now, battery powered is strong!
Have both of my equipment for 7 years I have a Kobalt electric motor I think I'm going to have to replace it still runs making a funny noise weed eater Black & Decker

That is awsome. Are you a big fan of reel mowing?
Great review, Clint! I really enjoyed this video and it will be helpful to anyone who watches.
Thanks Kyle! I had a lot of fun. making this one!
I felt that comment about going from JD to Toro 😁 Great video can't wait to see your new Stirling
I would like to start reel mowing. I'm hoping to level my yard this year. Can't wait to see more videos!

I like my John Deere, but also really like my Toro GM. I want an Allett though. Soon. Soooon.
You might be able to buy mine!
Great review Clint! Great guide to those looking at reel mowers
Thank you Andy. I hope it helps, especially with the little demonstrations!
Can't wait to see your Stirling review. Considering getting one myself

Until I read the tittle, I believe the reviews are for the real mowers and found out they are reel mowers😊 Nonetheless, really enjoy your review
Thank you🙏🏽 reel mowing seems silly until you do it. Then you cant stop!

I wish I had a pull version of these. I could be doing some backwards sled pulls while I mow💪🦵
I’m jealous that GM 1000 is super clean.
🤘🏼
It was a nasty boy when I got it. I detailed the heck out of it!
Sooo when is the review for the new one coming out? Thought you would stay with the Liberty since it stripes so nicely.
GRACE! My new one should be arriving in the next week or two.

I cut tue back before the video. It's green down there, but not that green!
The swardmann looks wicked affordable and also quite good. Be interested to see you review one, lol
They are gorgeous looking machines. I'm curious on the cut quality compared to my Allett

Have you ever mulched leaves with a reel mower? I've always wondered whether they were good at chopping them up
I've went over a few, it doesn't do the job as well as a rotary mower. Plus it will dull your blade quicker!
what is the black round cylinder at the front?? which way is to mow??

Where do you live that setup looks
Sweet!
I live in southeast Michigan in Lake St Clair
Looking good for a spinner bait along those docks.......lol!
For sure! The guys are out every morning fishing!
Have you ever thought about getting a Swardman?
I was going to in the beginning but the cost was to high for me. I'm hoping to demo one this summer at my house. I will forsure make a video on it
How and where are you selling the liberty and the cartridges ?
I have a liberty 43. I can't believe how much $ they want for that sterling !
The liberty is all you need. I'm getting the Stirling just because🤷♀️
@@Dadstuf just because you wipe your a$$ with hundreds? lol :)
How much are you selling the liberty for? Including the cartridges?
I'm going my friend up. I was going to sell it for around 3800 obo. With 2 batteries, edger, string trimmer, 2 batteries and all the cartridges
I see earthwise came out with a electric reel mower. I wonder if it's better than the sun joe.
I saw that too! I am curious about that.

They do. I just wanted to show the size of the machine with without the bag. My apologies

The more blades the finer the cut. It has nothing to do with height and if you are cutting 3/4” - O.M.Gosh. Unless you have like creeping bent grass.
