Audi S5 Sportback DO NOT Buy the Benz YET :All Specs & Test Drive

In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the Audi s5 Sportback then take it for a test drive. The s5 sportback has a 3.0l v6 with 349 horsepower which is the least in class, ranching 60 at 45 seconds which is the same as the S3 but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

S5 is amazing, if you are over 30, with a wife, and maybe some kids.... you sill pick the S5 over the BMW or Merc offerings. This is a luxuray first car, with almost the same emphasis on performance. You can't even get massage seats in those, and my wife's 2024 S5 has the resonator and the exhaust note is fantastic... as good as my M4... really. The acceleration from a standing start is not great, you need to use launch control to get those low 4 second times... but who cares. In a rolling start the car is fully equal to its competitors. So you give up "boy racer" redlight drag racing cred in exchange for the same speed, passing capability, and way more features that make long drives enjoyable. From a guy who loves both Audi and BMW, but not so much Merc.

Really like the car but paddle shifters are so gay. People really think they are “manually” driving the car. Just leave it in auto, the car does it better than you. The only time there is an advantage to tiptronic is downshifts for engine braking.

FWIW, if sometimes find yourself driving in comfort mode and you stop at a light, they are useful to get the car to actually use 1st gear in that mode . Otherwise, it will want to start in 2nd, and it bogs down a bit even with the auto start stop disabled which is what people often attribute it to, but it's not simply that but also the reluctance to use 1st gear. That is an example of when the car isn't doing it better (unless max gas savings is what someone considers better) and where the paddles can help.
