  • First of all, we apologize for the long wait since our last upload. A lot of things have changed since then and it has been difficult to find the time to make videos. So, we wanted to put out a quick video on the build of my 6.0L LS for my 1971 Pontiac LeMans. Enjoy!

    Love to see the ladies keeping it tight in the shop gym

    I would've hot tanked the block & heads before I did any rebuild. You've already got the short block apart , a small price to pay for peace of mind. Especially a used motor with damage. Good luck. o7

      I was pressed for time on this rebuild. All the connections to the motor are easy to quickly disconnect so I am contemplating going back and changing a couple of things (hot tank, bore and hone, deck, etc.)

    Shouldn't have to heat the rod to clear the wrist pin! Clearances are off maybe next piston will crack again in the same spot! Hope you're not too far into the build!

      The pins are press fit. There are no retainer clips on these style piston/rod combo.

      Somewhat. Been hard to make videos because we moved and I also went to college.

    How much did it cost in parts for this rebuild minus the accessories and intake?

    Few questions please.
    How many miles on the engine before rebuild.
    Did you replace the cam bearings.
    Did you use a reamer to get the pistons out.
    Thanks

      2000 out of a 2500 Silverado. it has 129k miles on it. the transmission is a 4l80e out of a 2002 Chevy Van with 70k miles on it

    Dude I found a complete 2001 Silverado with a lq4/4l80/4.10heaes/4x4 with 287k miles that I would LOVE to swap into my Jeep, my question is : should I be afraid of the milage? And it does have a either some lifter noise or some piston slap that seems to go away after couple minutes. Should I buy it for my swap?

    i’m sticking my 2003 6.0 with 90k miles internals into my 2001 6.0 block with 211k is that even possible to do?

    • @JaimeRodriguez-yq1iv
      @JaimeRodriguez-yq1iv 19 днів тому

      Make sure the 211 k block cylinders aren't un even wore down measure the cylinders and if they are good cross hatch the cylinder bores and install new rings on all pistons new oil pump and bearingss and I don't see why not
