LMS 6201 Princess Elizabeth - The Big Red Machine !

- A video compilation of 6201 Princess Elizabeth hard at work on the mainline spanning an eight year period. The future for this famous locomotive is less than rosy with Lizzie currently out of action due to a defect around the throat plate area of the firebox. The society have requested a boiler inspection to determine the problem, and they have requested that all cladding be removed from the boiler and firebox and that the superheater header should be removed to enable proper examination of the front tube plate too. To undertake this inspection work and subsequent repairs, the 6201 society are in need of £165,000 to complete the all inspections and work that is deemed necessary.
Currently as it stands the 6201 society are a long way off where they need to be and the best outcome would be that a rich benefactor can come in and takeover the reigns but its unlikely the society would want to relinquish their ownership of locomotive. Until the above issues are dealt with, we'll have to make do with videos such as these. I hope you enjoy a look back at some our shots of a National Treasure ! - Авто та транспорт
She’s not the “Big Red Machine” she is the sole remaining LMS and any British steamer that is named after her majesty; Queen Elizabeth II. I may be an American, but when her majesty passed away, I felt something leave a hole in my heart, 70 years of good service to her country, Queen Elizabeth II was the best of the British monarchs to-date. Today, I still am not used to hearing “king of England” with King Charles the 3rd. Rest in peace your majesty, we all miss you. No longer leading England, but always in our hearts.
RIP to Her Royal Highness. It's so sad that the locomotive which was named after her is unable to pay tribute properly :'( .
That loco is currently out of service thanks to a leak in the boiler that has caused the engine not to continue running
A shame she's presently a dead engine till an overhaul can be done. Had a chance of traveling behind her over Shap and the S&C from Liverpool on a CME few years back.

I fear for gd old Lizzie a magnificent engine of the mainline steam scene such as her with a serious uncertain future. When I last saw her she was in a very poor state & was clearly on her last legs. With not so gd things going on behind closed doors that's why I'm reluctant to join & donate to the society. I would not rule out David Smith of West Coast Railways purchasing Lizzie to permanently join the Carnforth 10A steam fleet.

I there sell her to west coast or let west coast take full control over the locomotive she would be looked after at carnforth
@@jameshardy4354 forget it as it wont happen, 6201's owning group unless they really really have to will NOT sell her as they've had her since withdrawal.
In the early 1950 I had Tri.ang train set with the Princess Elizabeth locomotive in red with two red and cream coaches an oval of track that include an uncoupling ramp.that train went very fast!
Foreigners like me agree it's a terrific performer and looks great (the lovely livery helps) so sad it's inoperable. Hope a solution can be found forthwith.

Fantastic presentation, thanks guys 👍👍👍👍. Sad to hear that things are so serious though. Had a wonderful trip with her in mid 70's, Shrewsbury to Chester and return. I believe she was sharing accomodation with King George V at Hereford at the time.

My impression, purely on watching videos, is that it out performs 6233 every time!
6233 Isn't allowed to work as hard as 6201 except on some rare occasions.

@@MarshSteamVideosTM I mean that makes sense but i just wonder why 6201's owners dont have the same thought about her that 6233's owners have in regards to pushing the engine hard. Is 6233 a rarer engine or something? I'm not very informed.
@@ChaosWarpGaming if lizzie had been overhauled at butterley it surely wouldnt of been out of traffic right now if simon had got his hands on it as a proper job had been done
