I love your collection of Llewelyn decks! They are one of my go-to companies for decks (HayHouse is second). I LOVE Mermaid Tarot, Everyday Witch Tarot, and that Anna K Tarot. Llewelyn always has great packaging and I love their card stock. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful holiday season 💚
I hadn't actually really looked at the mermaid tarot before. I think I'm going to try and see a walkthrough and see if it's for me! It looked so pretty when you showed it
There are lots of walkthroughs of it on UA-cam, so I decided not to do one, but it’s a really pretty deck and it reads well for me. Some people think it’s too Disney for them, but it’s not for me!
I don’t because I have edged very few of my decks. I don’t have a steady hand. I will edge my decks in black if they have black backs and borders or if I have a color that matches a back very closely. I have used Sharpie and Tim Holts distress ink pads. I may do a video showing the decks I have done!
I love Shadowscapes! I love it so much I bought a second copy in the Czech version last year. 😆 I don’t mind that it has a different language, it’s nice to have the option of bigger cards. Shadowscapes was my second deck ever (after The Celtic Wisdom Tarot by Caitlin Matthews). I actually like the size of the original deck as it is easy and comfortable to shuffle, but the card stock could be nicer. It’s kind of a slightly thinner, playing card-like card stock. I would love to see Llewelyn republish this deck as borderless, and a little (but not much) bigger. I also bought the book and deck separately several years ago, but I’m 99% certain that it’s the same book that comes in the book+deck kit. Its been quite a while but I remember doing a lot of research and trying to figure out the least expensive way to get the deck (I didn’t have much money at the time and was pinching pennies). It’s interesting that your deck has a mat grey boarder, and came in a heavyweight two part box. Mine has a sort of metallic lavender-y silver boarder -at least my English version one does, and came in a side-hinged tuck box. The Czech version has a silvery-grey boarder with gilded edges, came in a very nice heavyweight two part box, and the cards are glossier. I was absolutely thrilled when The Fool’s Dog, LLC (app developers) released Shadowscapes as an app for iOS. It’s truly amazing! I can see huge, full color, backlit versions of each card on my iPad and even zoom in! I can recreate readings I’ve done with cards in the app and save them. It makes using the deck so much more... well, just so much more! I have also splurged on Stephanie Law’s “The Art of Shadowscapes Tarot” - Minors (large hardcover book from her website), and “The Art of Shadowscapes Tarot” -Majors (large hardcover book from Llewelyn). I think the paperback version of the Majors is still available on Amazon, and the hardback version of the Minors is still available on Stephanie’s website. They provide insight and lore to the symbols in her artwork, and are mesmerizing to look at and get lost in. I find the app and these books invaluable companions to the deck. I also have the coloring book which is a lot of fun! 😀. I like the Everyday Witch Tarot, and have it as an app (I also have the Anna K as an app as well as several others), but I can’t seem to bring myself to pull the trigger on the physical deck. It’s very cute, and fun, and easy for me to read, but I just don’t connect with the witch imagery. I wish there was a deck by this same artist that was all just regular people.
I love that you are a super fan of the Shadowscapes Tarot! It’s amazing that there are multiple versions of this deck. I need to see if I can get a hold of the books you mentioned because I’m all for extra information to add dimension to reading with the deck. The only app I have for a deck is the Druid Craft one, but I also have the deck. I don’t really use it, but I figured I should have at least one deck app for when I’m on the go!
You help you decide that I should either go with Shadowscapes Tarot or Everyday Witch Tarot/Oracle. I’m going to meditate to see which one I was meant to work with. These decks are so beautiful! ❤️
another very enjoyable look at your collection. I am the person in the world who does not own - or have any interest in - the Everyday Witch tarot or oracle. Nor do I like the Modern Witch or Everyday Enchantment. I know I am odd. I repeat, lucky there's so many different decks out there ;) =)
You are not the only one who doesn’t resonate with The Everyday Witch Tarot and Oracle. I think more people had issues with the Oracle. We can’t help it...we like what we like!
I am new to tarot and have purchased a few decks in the last month. One of them is the Linestrider Tarot. I feel a very strong connection to it. I'm thinking of purchasing The Otherkin Tarot and The Hedgewitch Oracle.
Watching this video makes me want to bring out my Everyday Witch Tarot again and use it. I've been using the Wizards Tarot since the start of the month. I also love the Mermaid Tarot, and I have always loved Mermaids as well. I like the Dark Wood Tarot but I didn't fall in love with it. I also have the Ravens Prophecy and I really liked it for a time but I think I fell out of love with it, I almost forgot that I had it in my collection. I have the Llewelllyn Shadowscapes Tarot and it has the same cards as yours, they might have a little gloss. I loved your video, and I like that we like a lot of the same decks.
Great minds think alike! I agree with you...I so far haven’t bonded with the Dark Wood Tarot as I have with the others. I’m going to make a point to work with it more. I think the Everyday Witch and the Mermaid Tarot’s are very special decks! 💕
I had the Shadowscape Tarot in the big box. The cards are glossy, and your book looks just like the book that comes with the big box. I have just let mine go. Although I love the colour scheme and the artwork, it is too detailed, too small and too fantasy for me to read easily with. I just got the Wizards tarot and love/bonded with that straight away. I am a water sign too, and the Mermaids Tarot is now definately on my list (my ever-increasing list😂😂😂). Well done on another perfect video.💜💜💜

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shadowscapes! It's my first deck. And I have the boxed kit. The only difference is the card is glossy. And the book is wonderful, too.
I have Shadowscapes big box with book. Book is the same. My borders are silvery lavender but my original card stock was not glossy. My second copy in big box version is glossy. Change in card stock. It’s my favorite deck, with a couple coming in right behind it.
Interesting that I’ve let most of my Llewellyn decks go...🤔 But, you’ve made me think again about the Anna K. While I’m a seasoned reader, there seems to be something real about that deck that I feel compelled to explore. ❤️ I have bonded with the Dark Grimoire as my go-to shadow deck, but I’m glad you have a deck in your collection that hits those hard-to-tackle areas of ourselves because that’s where the deep healing resides. You’ve got me curious about the Dark Grimoir deck...I’m not familiar with it. I find great life in the Anna K. Tarot. Honestly, for me, if I could only have one deck for the rest of my life, I think this deck would be it because of its accuracy for all types of readings. Yes, this may be my desert 🏜 island 🏝 deck.
Is it the deck you actually learned on? If it is...wow! I’m impressed! I got it early on in my journey, but I don’t know if I could have learned the basics if it was my very first deck!
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 I did learn on it I guess. It was my only one for quite a while until I found the happy tarot at Bull Moose Music in town. I found the Shadowscapes book very helpful and I did look at some more general meanings online to help me if I got really confused.
I love that you found the Happy Tarot at a music store! I love the Shadowscapes and will always have it in my collection. It would be my dream if a “special edition” was put out with slightly larger cards!

I really like the book to this! It was brought to my attention that there are some art books for this deck that are really good as well!

The shadowscapes was my first deck! I got it in the big box in 2016 and it was that cardstock and book. I guess the newer ones are glossy.
