For the cut order on the different mats you can just click on the mat you want to cut first so you don't have to cancel the whole cut and change the color. Great tutorial!
You can however cricut design space is probably one of the glitches softwares I have ever used and nearly every time I do that is still cuts the wrong mat. So we just change the color to prevent any issues
Thank you for breaking this down in so much detail!!! Personally, I would just cut the backing with scissors depending on how easy the design is. Something with straight lines would be easy to cut, but circle and curves are going to look nicer with the cricut.
This is a brilliant idea, thank you for making this video. I have some of these window cling pieces left over from putting on my windows ages ago & for some unknown reason I kept them. Now I know why I hoarded them 😂
I love making these! So fun! One tip tough if you want to align the layers without having to offset is by selecting them and clicking "arrange" > "center" it will line them up automatically! Then you can flatten them together. :)
Flatten is only used for print then cut not for making vinyl or other decals. Since I did not want to keep these together for any reason I wouldn't need to do any of the steps like attach group or weld. There are a couple way to do this type of design you can duplicate and contour or do the offset like I did. The offset makes it a little easier to line up the design so there is a small gap around it to leave room for a little error :-)
Thats pretty cool! One tip I have, I took some felt, cut it to fit your squeegee, up on both sides, and glue it on. I can then use it on delicate materials without fear of scratching it.
Hii ! I've started my journey through suncatcher stickelast year and I've watch this video several times and I have to thank you about this video because it helped me a lot to do the process! 😄 Also, I've tried a few things in the making and someone suggested me to use a LED pad to do the application of vinyl on suncatcher paper which I tried it and it works beautifuly for the layer's allignement! 😀✨ So, since this video helped me a lot, I wanted to share the tip with you for the making of future suncatcher stickers ❤
Followed along on my phone setting this up, ready to make when the materials arrive 😀 Thank you for explaining so well, I am a beginner and managed just fine 😊
I can't wait to try this! Thank you! ❤️ I have also seen some of your videos over on creative fabrica. Thank you for your knowledge you share with us all! ❤
I love all your work. This one is beautiful. I will make a hummingbird one to try out. You have the best ideas and tutotial videos to go with them. THANK YOU!!!!
I love how it turned out ❤ I have never explored the sticker world so know nothing about them nor the cutting dye machines! But I think need to now so I could make some custom stickers for my jewelry business 😊
To clean your hair from your mats use a baby wipe. It works like a charm and keeps the mat still sticky. I also take a lint roller a cheap one from the dollar store since they aren’t as sticky and I just roll over the hair and it lifts it off of the mat. I have a dog and 3 cats. Trust me I have this happening to me on the daily! Lol!
I don’t always have time use the Dawn dishwashing liquid so the baby wipes are right on my desk and I just pick one up wipe it off and it comes up so fast and so easy. I also sometimes use Lysol wipes if I don’t have the baby wipes, those to work really well and they still keep my mat sticky. I love this tutorial by the way, I made a bunch of them for my shows, I’m a psychic medium, The Steel City Medium, Leslie Gray, so this was great addition to my other crafts that I make. I make sage kits, which I was using the crystals decals for the boxes that I make for storage. Thank you for making this easy tutorial. I hate when people go way too much into their tutorials that I just can’t sit there listening to the bantering. Lol! You rock!!! ❤️
I love this! I actually was just wondering if this was doable since I have this exact window film left over and wasn’t sure what setting to use. The fact that you’re using the exact same one makes me much more confident to try it myself.
Thanks Corinne. I made it and with your help it turned out nice. Maybe clings are my thing. That particular design works so good with that cling! I am trying to find other designs that would work with this cling.... these crystals are tough to beat. Have you found any others since? I tried diamond and cross. It was quite therapeutic to make this, lol. 😅
I use window clings when I make glass blocks with the lights inside. Use this rainbow patterned cling on the back and a frost cling on the front where I apply the vinyl design. This way, I have 1 block and as many interchangeable designs as I want. I’ve made a different design for each month/holiday. The rainbow cling on the back isn’t necessary…just makes the back side pretty.
can you post a picture, I love this idea but having a hard time visualizing what I would need to do.... this is amazingly fun... thank you both for posting, I'm a total glittery, shiny, sunny rainbow lover
@@belindabaker6026 you can’t post photos on UA-cam. I would recommend both of you joining the exclusive Facebook group. You can post all the pictures you want to there :)
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you. I wasn't thinking too clearly. I'm rarely on fb, but will definitely join your group for when I am. maybe you two could post a collaborative how-to?? Stay well.
If I wanted to make this to send to a friend for example, what would you recommend? What could I put under the window cling side so it doesnt stick to anything but stays protected in the post? Thank you in advance :)
These will not stay on the outside of a car they are just held on with static and will fall off if they get wet or too much wind on them. They should be used as inside only
Hi there, this is a great tutorial! I did have a question though. I made a couple and they turned out great, but then about a week later, my vinyl that I applied to the window cling material started falling off. Have you had this happen or is there something I might have missed? Please help and thanks!
Never have had that issue. Make sure you are applying a quality vinyl. Cricut vinyl is not quality. Also be sure you are allowing the vinyl to cure before placing the window cling on the window. You need to let the vinyl sit for about 48-72 hours before being used
@@CorinneBlackstonethanks so much for replying back. I used HTVRONT Holographic Vinyl. I'm thinking maybe the second part that you said about allowing time for it to cure might have been the issue. I was overzealous when I made my first two, I slapped them up on that window and kept moving them. I'm guessing when I was doing that, maybe it was loosening the adhesive or something. I will try what you say and let them sit for a bit and see if that helps. Thanks again!
I love this. This is probably a stupid question but can you cut window cling a a explore air 2 and if so what setting the same one you used. Thank you so much for this video. You explain things so well.
When you only have two mats on the make it screen to change the cut order you don't have to go back and change the color like you did you could have just clicked on Mat 2 and as long as that one was highlighted before you clicked continue and loaded your mat it would have cut that second mat first. I actually learned that in error one day 🤣
I'm wondering, you mentioned using this on acrylic. Do you think it would be possible to put this on acrylic and cover with resin to make it more of a "permanent" thing, like on a keychain for instance? I'm thinking the window cling might cause it to lose the prismatic look under the resin however. What do you think? Thank you for the tutorial, my mind is spinning with ideas! It's very beautiful!
@@CorinneBlackstone I was thinking of something along the line of “seran wrap,” or a plastic of some type ( I’m probably not explaining it well and it probably wouldn’t work )!! lol! @corinne_Blackstonecrafts Hi Great Video and will make it today. I am wondering what does it called with tiny little pink cup that you put it in after peeled vinyl.
I’m trying to contour my image and contour doesn’t come up. I’ve selected it in the layers panel and on the screen and it still doesn’t come up… what am I doing wrong?? 😑
Couldn't you skip the step of duplicating the design and contouring and then offsetting? You could just do an offset off the original design and hide all contours, right?
If you want to do it that way you can. There are several ways to do it. Offset for me is not always the best choice since it’s very slow more often than not.
I have watch this video so many times to make suncatchers❤ thank you I watch your video in 2023 and now in 2024 🎉

Thank you for breaking this down in so much detail!!! Personally, I would just cut the backing with scissors depending on how easy the design is. Something with straight lines would be easy to cut, but circle and curves are going to look nicer with the cricut.

If i wanted to sell these, do i need to add a backing to it or would I just leave the protective film on the window cling?
No backing needed I would just leave the film on to keep it clean
Since this is done in Cricket what is the same function in Scan n Cut for contours? Great project.
I don't have a scan n cut so I'm sorry I don't know

Thanks for the video. I’ve made a few now. Do yours create rainbows on the wall or other areas? Mine doesn’t do that, but I’ve seen others that do.
Yes mine does. It needs to be in direct sunlight not just a bright window

I am looking at amazon for the vinyl cling. But not finding what you used. Everything has rainbow colors. Please tell me what you used. Thank you.
It’s linked directly in the video description for the window cling
So any window cling?
Yes but this one specifically is rainbow

You can any vinyl you want to. Doesn’t have to be holo

Can't you just offset the image instead of duplicating it, offsetting the duplicate, changing the color and sending to back?
Back when this video was made no. The offset was not working like it does now. Now many many months later yes that works

Can you sublimate on window cling ?
No
