Ted Ginn Jr was once called a draft bust. But now NFL fans have to show him respect.

The US educational system during the 80s-90s was terrible. I am a Nigerian, when I started school, I had a hard time learning English and my teachers put me in special ED classes. One teacher called me dumb. Fast Forward 25 years later. I am Computer Engineer that design video games. Anyone who has kids make sure your kids know they are intelligent and encourage them often.
Teachers can be assholes. I was a student in the late 1990s through mid 2000s. I was lucky not to repeat grades but suffered through 1st grade through 5th grade
Yea, the 90s kinda really sucked. I have ASD and I was out in special Ed classes because they thought I was slow. Found out I'm stupid smart, I just had a terrible time with learning in classroom settings and dealing with a lot of people socially. I got into a lot of trouble acting out because at times I was being unfairly humiliated, and had enough of it. My mom ended up jumping on the school about stuff quite a bit. After the school ran IQ test they changed their attitude into more apathy so that sort of worked out somewhat but I still did not mean some of the issues were sorted out just the school was not adding onto it.
@N_JAMES but even if a kid is just dumb (and some people are just dumb) why be cruel about it. Youre a teacher youre supposed to find ways to help your students.
Obviously these problems are complex. Public school teachers are underpaid and as a result are typically not the highest calibre
Amen
You wouldn't by chance could tell me when es6 will drop?? Lol
Ginn Jr wasn't a bust. He just went to the wrong coaching staff is all. Imagine if he had played with Andy Reid early on and was used like Tyreek Hill.
Not a bust. If you play 14 yrs in the league you are worth it. The staffs that misused him or quit on him are busts
I agree with you 100%. A lot of times with these so called busts it's the coaches that are stubborn and won't put the players in a position to succeed at the players strength but the coaches insist on their system instead of having a game plan to use the players strength.
Agreed Ted Ginn jr was a goat
@@lionsfan7500 Agreed, I still blame Jeff Fischer for destroying Vince Young. I wonder who Young could've been if he had a coach who wasn't a complete hack
@@MAJ0ROCEL0T that's a great point Marc and I think he almost did the same to Jarrod Goff fortunately the Rams came to their senses and fired Fischer.
Panthers fan here. Thought he was extremely exciting, fun to watch, and highly under appreciated. The one year he had 10 scores on 40 catches- come on, that’s crazy.
Especially with the reputation of having brick hands. 10tds was a miracle.
But not a bigger miracle than his father surviving pancreatic cancer.
Couldn't catch a pass but him and cam was a great combo throw the ball deep Ted gin smoking his opponents
@@supadupa6891 that's facts.. it killed my mother in law in 2 months
25 percent reception td ratio is insane over a year, let me be 1 dimensional please
Great story but it's a reason he was a corner instead of a wide receiver in the beginning. He wasn't a good route runner nor did he have the best set of hands. Having said all that, his story especially as a child, is really touching and it's a great story of never giving up.
I was lucky enough to go to many of Ted Ginns college games. Every time he touched the ball whether it be a catch a kick return or punt return the crowd went silent just for a moment. You knew you were watching something you had never seen before. Every time he touched the ball you knew he could go the distance. Thanks for the memories with this great video.
He was amazing! I loved watching him as Ohio State and Percy Harvin at U of Florida. And, of course using them in the NCAA Football video games, with max speed lol
He was the truth , one of my all time favorite Buckeyes
Cj2k Chris Johnson faster :D
@@rosamontoya9154 no one cares
Facts he averaged a touchdown on like every 10 catches
Such an upstanding guy. His relationship with his dad just hit me hard.
We need a what happened to Chris Gamble. He played Db and wr for Ohio State
He also played a lot of special teams. Dude was literally everywhere.
@@RocknRollisDead1He was always in the right place at the right time 💪🔥
Would play 100+ plays in single games... in the big 10. Would definitely watch that vid
FlemLo Raps becoming so great that his videos can make you laugh, mad at how these players were handled, cry at some of their rough moments, happy during the triumph, and fulfilled when they come full circle. Great job 👍 my fellow SU alum!
Once again, great video! You provided a huge amount of backstory I never had a clue about. Thank you for giving these stars more credit than they've received.
O yes off work and watching, " CUE THE WAYNE"🍿
Literally my reality rn fam😂
"Cue Dwayne" i think Lil Wayne's name is Dwayne
Yep Dwayne Micheal Carter
Lance Moore would be a great vid, dude was really good but only known and somewhat forgotten in New Orleans, 2011-2012 were some of his best years
Lance Moore used to give saints games life with his wacky td dances
As a lifelong Buckeye fan I can’t thank you enough for the video on a Legend in Ohio. You do a great job.
I love how much you put into these videos and the positive vibe you put out there. You remind each of us that everyone is in a journey and we ought to be better humans. Thank you for what you do. I am loving these stories.
Ted Ginn Jr. was the most under appreciated player of the 2011 49ers in my opinion!
In my opinion it's Terrell Owens, he was I think 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart and they mostly used him to block for runs.
@@Thunderalpacka223 I think you are thinking of the 1999 49ers
Until Kyle Williams lined up as Punt returner
@@415fillmore 😭😭😭😭😭
Definitely did it the right when it comes to keeping your head down and not feeding into what the pressures of the fans and sports media are. Keep pushing and you can be the best YOU possible
Bro videos like this the real reason I love you channel… grown man over here with tears in my eyes ….
As a dolphins fan for life, I was so mad when Miami picked him in the first round.
He wasn't a bust - if he was drafted in the 4th round like he should have been, he would have been remembered as a good player and great kickoff /punt returner.
People don't remember, but he wasn't really drafted as a wide out - his claim to fame was returning kicks.
Drafting a kick returner in the 1st round is worse than drafting a punter in the 1st round.
I 💯 agree with you!! I remember the day of the draft when Miami drafted him..my jaw dropped and the first words out of my mouth was ‘who is this guy??’ The coach was a (Major Fuc#%@) idiot and again I do agree you about Gin not being a bust but he really should have been drafted later in the round. I personally remembered his best kickoff/punt return was when Miami played against the Jets and returned two 100-yards for a touchdown! GoPhins#
That was on Cam Cameron ......not Ted Ginn. Cam Cameron had a plan for Ted Ginn but only coached 1 season......enter bill Parcells, and coach Tony Sparano that have a totally different offense plan.......thats why Ted Ginn struggled in miami. 2 offensive coordinators in 2 years and Chad henne as qb in year 3.....no need to say more. people love to point at Ted Ginn but can you name the QB in miami from 2007-2010? I can .....they were horrible
Feel good for Ted, it’s so refreshing to hear a positive story every so often. Really good for him to have those last few years of his career work out the way they did 🖖🏻😬👍🏻
One of your most heart felt stories bro..your wording is second to none.
I grew up in Cleveland, Mr Ginn Sr and Ted Jr are sooooooo respected in cleveland. Honestly both these man saved my life rather they know it or not. And are still doing that with Ted’s Ginn Academy as well as the work they still do with Glenville.
Jr had an amazing career and is still one of my favorite players to ever. I wish the Browns had been better. Woulda been nice to see him with the home team. Proud of you Jr and Sr. Best of luck in the future. 👑💪🏾
I’m just gonna say it…. I never expected to see Flem take a shower…. 😳😳😳
Honestly this may be the best video you’ve made so far, the story telling was the some of the best you have done yet
Great story! Grew up a huge fan of Ted Ginn living in Columbus. Thanks for taking the time to tell his story
These are the stories young black boys need to hear not even just for the sports but for the school portion about his drive is also inspirational
EDIT-Just finished the whole vid. Flem, you killed it man. This is one of your best projects, top 5.
Lifelong Panthers fan here. TG2 is someone I have mad respect for. Love that dude, great vid as always pimp.
As a Panther fan, it always pissed me off when the front office kept letting Ted Ginn walk. Outside of Steve Smith, he was the one wide receiver Cam Newton had great chemistry with.
Man I remember how much he got bashed for not having hands. I'm glad he figured out his niche
What happened to Ted Ginn jr. in the fourth grade has happened to so many young Black children throughout the schooling where they are just told that they will never be anything and destined to fail.. Good to see that Ginn had his father to help see him through.
Life Lesson Learned: Don't give up on yourself; die with your boots on & who knows - some good may come out of it.
the crazy part about track is those times listed, and people dont know how special he was as a hurdler. literally world class, that was his best event
From a guy who practiced both football and track under ted ginn sr track was way harder
KTO and Flemlo drop a video on the same day? Oh yea I’m feeling this! 💯
Bra u funny af🤣🤣🤣yo avatar had me weak
Who is KTO?
Yoooo I'm weak asf at this man avatar and name 😂🤣
@@shiboy22 💯😂
Hey flem !! Love the videos was wondering if you could do edgerrin James seeming as he just got inducted in the hall of fame and some people don’t know his career fully would be a great video !
I for one can say my view of Tedd Ginn greatly changed to panthers fans when he first came here, he’s definitely beloved. He randomly bought one of my family members a drink at a bar and just talked with him for a minute, and in a completely random situation he bumped my dads camaro in a traffic Incident 😂, but Ted was a cool dude
When Ginn Sr. spoke he left you feeling like you could win anything!
Flemlo never change bro, yr amazing at what u do.
Thank you for your time and knowledge bro keep grinding
Another banger Flem! I didn't even notice you were sick, your voice was straight the whole time.
Dam bro, I like the way you say 1 Hunit! lol BTW, been subscribed to your channel since before you even had 1000 subscribers! WOW, you're getting close to 1 million subscribers! Congratulations!!!
I used to squad up with Ted on COD in like 07-09 ish. Multiple times a week. Dude was really cool. He was big on team communication. Big on talking up his team instead of down. I liked playing with Ted. Cool dude by me.
I worked with a guy who happen to go to a wedding in which Ted Ginn and his wife were guests also and they happen to be at the same table or a table nearby and spoke with him most the night. He said both him and his wife were just the loveliest people they’d ever met.
I’m from Cleveland! I love these guys! Thanks
That was incredibly well done and thoughtful. Great job as always my friend!
awesome job bro. you deserve all the good comment about your channel. You are a true professional.
I used to howl about Ginn drops 2015 Panthers, because they were TDs in big close games I rewatch, v Giants, v Saints, v Colts games that might still be on UA-cam. But I never saw him drop it on the Saints; I had to admit he was a hell of a weapon both offenses.
This is an excellent, excellent video! Keep up the great work!
Man, his academic struggles darn near mirrored mine. I got demoted back to K5 and kids made fun of me, teachers didn't understand how to work with me. I'll never forget when I read a note a teacher wrote to my mom in 3rd grade, she was extremely angry that a spec ed kid spelled saw "sall" and just let loose. It wrecked me. The next year I got a tutor at Sylvan and tested into the top 30% in the nation on a national standardized test that they used back then to gauge your growth. I took the results to school and threw it in all of their faces, and I never looked back academically.....most kids like me never get what I clearly needed, one on one attention from someone who actually cares about their education
Patiently waiting for a Marion Barber 🙏🏾🙏🏾 we share the same birthday which is pretty cool
I don’t know how I found this guy but son, you are really good at what you do! I am stuck in a hotel on a jobsite and I’m glad I found your channel! 👍👍👍🇺🇸
Another GREAT video flem! Ginn was my guy in Carolina !!
The best part of the video is nailing that 4.0. That’s the best turnaround!
I always look at your videos for motivation.
Love this one!! Great review!! Keep doing great works, bruh!!
Also, there is a story about Troy Smith altercation with Anthony Gonzales over a girlfriend that got done before the game. This resulted in a fight before the Florida game. Might worth researching because the fight was big and the Ohio State team cohesion was broken minutes before the national championship game
I pulled up to a football jamboree yesterday and Ginn Elite was there with a big nice ass team. Doing a great job with these kids man.
I had the same learning issues as Ted In school. Kinda glad to hear I’m not the only one
Man you really the GOAT, love the videos bro keep up the great work 🔥🙌
He's on my Ohio St. Mount Rushmore, along with Joey Galloway, Eddie George and Chris Gamble. I'll never forget, when he had a KR and PR in only 0:59, as a 49er. I don't think I ever saw that happen. Was definitely, fun to watch.
No Terry Glenn?
@@johnpierce4778 I liked Joey Galloway better. He was faster and more dynamic. Don't get me wrong. I have a long list of Buckeyes, who were favorites.
Awesome documentary Ginn Jr. One of my All-time favorite WR. Of course his speed was key!!
Honestly I love your videos... They're so positive and they're inspiring or very informative
great video. always loved watching Ted Ginn play. He definitely gave us some heartbreak moments in Carolina, but he had so many more amazing thrillers.
Saw this kid at the Army High School All-American Game, Flem.
Forgot what year. Matter of fact, it was on NBC and aired before the Bayou Classic. But, it was the first time I'd seen a kid with "Jr." on his jersey at that type of showcase.
So, I immediately knew that his father had been his Coach OR "Ted Ginn, Sr." was making sure that HIS son was going to always compete.
Not everybody gets that at the crib. ✊
With the dyslexia part that hit way to close to home bruh. Putting in more work and not getting as good results as a normal student. It's tough
him & troy smith jr one of my fav duos
i think his decline started after he got injured on that kickoff in the bowl game against Florida on the opening kickoff
Nice video bro… loved the deep dive. Nice family and player
I love that pic of little Ted rockin the Bernie jersey!
Great video on Ted Ginn..loves it..I'm a huge Carolina Panthers Fan and that 2015 season we went.to.the super bowl he came up big for us that year overall even tho he had a few dropped bomb td passes but oh well he was key for us
Great tribute. Thank you
Great great career! I'm glad to see that he overcame that bad education system failure. Education system failures make me so angry.
God is the Greatest!!! ~
They try to minimize break and down talk our Kings from youth; only creating Stronger vessels that show God’s truest beauties , his Grace and Mercy !!!
Great video Flem Lo keep up the good vibes and positive energy King, this video touched me a little bit made me smile. Thank you brother!
Great piece once again.
U do a great job every time bro for real!💯
I remember watching between Ted Ginn Hr. Highlights and Devin Hester Highlights back in the days lol 😅🔥🔥
Ima raise my son on the same principles. Don’t ever give up. You can make something out of nothing. And be all you can be
I’m dyslexic and that means your brain is wired different from the majority of the world’s population. The school learning system is fitted for the majority, so it makes it very difficult. They need to make learning system for us so we can be more confident. Great video and this story is now my favorite!
Ted Ginns smile and speed always made me draft him in madden 12 tbh. I've been a lowkey fan for a lil while lol, always loved seeing that dude on NFL tv too
As a Carolina "fan" I remember ginn as someone who would more often then not drop those clutch bombs usually costing the team. Had he made more of them, the qb probably wouldn't want to throw safer 10 yard check downs. Those 3rd and long drops were horrible to watch.
I missed Ginn Jr. in Carolina. I hope he sends Cam a Christmas card every year or something because dude helped him revitalize his career and get some of those big contracts later on.
Bomani jones has a great quote about ted and how he was able to have that long career and stay so fast
true roll models unlike the rappers and big headed sports people, a man that never gives up on his dream and goal and it never went to his head
Please do one for Josh Allen because he has an interesting story
You always do your thing!
Great video my guy
he wasnt dumb in school just wasnt applyin his self but when he did he got rewarded💪🏾
I’m glad ted ginn’s story is being told. That family here in cleveland are like royalty
You definitely got the gift of story telling
What's good my brother I'm new to your channel I'm loving your videos and I wanted to know if you did a video of your own story I would love to see that a d keep up the great work peace.
A second is a huge difference in track but I definitely agree with Ted that he could have been because he was doing track part time and was exceptional.
30mins?!
Bet😎
Tuned in!
Yo, Can you PLEASE do a what happened to Jason Avant. He has a CRAZY life story. Really Turned his life around (used to run with GD before college). Desean Jackson has a crazy story too and would love a What Happened to either fr. Great Eagles receiver legends with SCARY backstories...
Flem could you please do an episode on Terrance Williams (Former Dallas Cowboys WR)? Excellent video btw..
A second in Track & Field is a big difference as mush as 10meters or more
Just a thought; Intro - Ad - "cue the wayne"
"cue" into the ad is kinda.... yeah
This guy had the same problem his WHOLE Career and that is that he was Afraid to get hit. Simple as that!
I'd love to see him get into coaching and mentoring, so he could help more young men and women like himself.
Please do What Happened to Santonio Holmes! From Superbowl MVP hero with one of the greatest catches of all time to getting traded and becoming a nobody just a few seasons later.
Flemlo Raps,
I don't know if you will read this, but you tell interesting stories and really draw a picture / movie as you tell it. A blind person would enjoy what you tell. I have a very serious question. Are you a novel writer by any chance? I'm working on my first. I have my title, subject, even characters, but I'm having a hard time deciding which should come first. I don't really know where to go for assistance. I'm a paralyzed Disabled Veteran and I don't get out much.
Wayne
Yeah flemlo ! YEAH . LOVE TED GIN AND YOUR VIDS!
I didn't really get into football until 2013, so I've always known him as a speedster that can take the top off of a defense and occasionally drop wide open deep passes lol
Dude was a burner and one of my favorites when he arrived inti the league, killer in madden too
