2:57 It'd be nice if they had a wash sprayer nozzle to clear it, or put it behind the rear wiper so you could clear it from inside the vehicle. I'm pretty sure there've been a few cars with the former. I know that some cars with rear view cameras that show in the rear view mirror have the camera behind the rear windscreen where the wiper will clear it, similar to a lot of front facing ADAS cameras. I'm not sure about backup cameras, though I do know of one where it's close enough to the rear wiper that someone's made an aftermarket attachment to wipe it when the wiper runs.
I looked at one of these recently at a dealer event. It's perfectly sized for our Canadian 🇨🇦 roads and the long highway drives that I do every day (170-180 miles per day). I currently own an EV6 GTLine and would trade it for this if I had the extra money.
Im living in S.Korea. Genesis/Hyundai/Kia are electrifying all their models because Korea is pushing to fully removing all IC cars and moving to EV/Hydrogen based cars. There is a strong charging infrastructure in place in S.Korea now. Also Korea has to import all their oil and gas so per liter its really expensive to fill up. Makes more sense to electrify. Given how densely packed the cities are, it will help cut down on the massive air quality problem too. The electric GV70 is targeting people who love the design of the original GV70 and don't love the traditional EV design languages of many EV cars keep to.

They still make the Soul EV, the Niro EV, the Kona Electric, and have introduced less expensive trims of the Ioniq 5 and EV6, so I don’t understand that complaint.

Potential UK owners should be aware that at the moment, if you have an issue with your Genesis, the chances are it will be taken on a diesel lorry to their only service centre in Bicester. My GV60 has been there twice - once for pothole damage and once for a manufacturing defect. It’s done more miles on the back of a lorry than it has on the road.
I drove Lexus for more than 15 years before I decided to go EV and got a Hyundai Kona. The Kona is a great EV but lacks the refinement of Lexus. The Genesis brand may provide a better alternative but as you rightly say, at the moment their EV range consists of big (GV60), very big (GV70) and enormous (GV80) cars. I probably would IF I was going to buy a car that wide but I'm not getting anything wider than a niro - exactly right about back roads; end up pooping yourself and reversing a lot and with a blind camera it's miserable.

The trouble with Genesis (in the UK at least) is that they're really difficult to get a test drive of or go to see in person unless in London.
