Dont you mean THE BEST run off ever!!!! Me and a drinking buddy were in the grandstand yelling so hard for rodney to go that we spilled most of our beverage all over each other....lol. Man thats the best runoff ever. I doubt we will ever see another one like that.
Boote got him back good when Wood came to Nelson. Absolutely obliterated into the wall. Never seen anyone get owned as much as wood got owned by Boote that day. Afterwards Boote went into the infield and jumped on top of his car pumping both hands in the air. The entire Nelson crowd was with him. Boote is one of the best drivers there has ever been.
Actually you have your facts wrong. That hit was in the all comers race at the Top of the south championship a few years earlier. Rodney cleanly spun Boote for the win for that championship. Rodney went out for the all comers race, he noticed Boote had not come out, and was not on the starting line, so wasn't expecting that hit. If you ask me (Mrs Wood) I was there and we can agree it was a massive hit, but hiding before a race is an action I would not be proud of.
