As a Leinster fan I was gutted to see the boys in Blue lose. As an Ireland fan I am delighted to see Ulster playing to such a high level. Burns' kicking was out of this world last night 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Just got home from this match - first time I’ve ever had the chance to watch rugby in-person and it was incredible! What an amazing atmosphere, even in the rain!
Well done Ulster! I watched them not long ago against Glasgow and wasn't too impressed tbh, but seems like they have improved a lot and pulled off a great win tonight.
Yeah it was a very bad start to the season, at least they are building into the season well this year. They were guilty in the last few seasons of cruising to 2nd/3rd in the table and then collapsing, I think it might actually be a benefit to them that they didn't get off to a flying start!
Good to see more competition in the urc for so long it’s been a one way system for Leinster with no real obstruction besides their obvious fuck ups in the final, i have had my doubts about the competition but all Irish sides and Scottish sides particularly are starting to step it up
In fairness though Leinster again threw out a much weakened side so masters of their own downfall again. Resting players only makes sense if you end the season with silverware it's a tightrope Cullen is walking
Hes an ex leinster man doing a serious job for ulster. He's unlucky that there is so much competition for a spot on the Irish back row. Timoney is an animal.
Leinster probably won’t blame Harry Berne for losing this match but as he often does in clutch situations - with the game on the line and the final whistle nearing - he twice kicked their chances away - once into the dead ball area when misjudging a red zone touch/scoring throw-in opportunity and then again with the final kick of the game. Sexton was over-relied on and the same flaw keeps recurring with poor execution when under the kosh [can do it with his eyes closed when the game is already in the bag]…..
As an ulster fan i hace to say leinster had better linouts and had more time on the ball any chance ulster had they just scored trys and i need to say weldone to them

Did Ulster deliberately throw/slap the ball out of play to end the game? Could have been penalised. Hard to see from that angle if there was a genuine attempt to catch
How is frank murphy still employed?, he has no clue how to ref the breakdown and ended up handing ulster the win with penalties that ended up being the deciders e.g Reffell being blatantly off his feet but awarding a penalty in Leinster's half. But fair play to ulster who played well and fair play to Prendergast who I would start over H Byrne any day.
That's just Frank Murphy for you. I agree that should of been a Leinster penalty against Reffell but Leinster players were constantly standing up in the middle of the ruck after going off their feet all game, and I think they were only penalized for it once. It usually ends up even in the end, with some shocking decisions going both ways when he is reffing!

Unusual performance from Leinster, horrible conditions that made for great entertainment. Well done Uls

Great result for us, does wonders for our season, well done boys
The wings were always going to be a weakness in a rush defence.
Who is that Ulster No. 8?! Man I'm impressed!
Nick Timoney

That was a great watch in horrendous conditions. Cullen took them a bit casually perhaps (squad selection)
Good to get this year’s Frank Murphy match out of the way early, I guess.
Dreadful missing touch at end
Great match

Do you think it worked overnight? Took the Springboks nearly 2 years to do it decently and 5 years to do it well.
