    I love showing people that trick at 2:00 this gives you a laser straight line real quik. I don’t even bother with a chalk line anymore since it’s always getting stolen. You just have to figure out which side of the sheet the string pulls. It’s different for different manufacturers. For versico/ Carlisle the top string goes across the sheet the short way and the bottom string rips the sheet the long way. Opposite for g.a.f. And firestone. This even works for reinforced epdm.

    Our inspector in Tennessee says we don't have to cut our strip piece a few inches past the target, he says just cut it flush with the target so there's no unnecessary patches on the t joints

    Also that fix cost a couple hundred bucks with premade pockets and pourable sealer. If you just installed a new target and field wrapped the pipe with unreinforced and caulked and clamped it would take 15 minutes and last forever....

    Nice most guys forget to caulk the pipe at the base.. But what I saw you forgot was to seam caulk your target and patch you T joints on your target strip with unsupported or cherry bomb patches...

    Concrete fill around top of pitch pan and then primed and sealed sounds like a future leak I won't have to deal with.

    Why reuse the same wrong boot? Why not make it a 1” pipe boot?

    • @mmar5867
      @mmar5867 4 роки тому

      The reason why is because you can't slid a pipe boot through the conduit with out disconnecting it from the unit. I'm sure manufactures don't want you slicing the pipe boot in half. This is the best option for penetrations like this.

      This is all. However, I was add bond adhesive to the interior of the patch. While still maintaining a 2inch lap to weld. Keep in mind I’m only referring to patches 8inch and up. I also noticed that he didn’t put a indent in cross lap using a probe

    This is nuts… the amount of labor required for one pitch pocket compared to a traditional BUR system makes no sense. With TPO you get an inferior quality system which requires more work and last about 1/3 of the time. It’s no wonder every year GAF changes something or updates the system… they are absolute garbage!!! After the last hurricane in South Florida… 90% of the flat roofs that had major issues were all TPO.

    I'm just curious but how long have you guys been Roofing? I ask because it's non reinforced TPO membrane sheet it's not called unsupported TPO membrane sheet. Are you from Texas? Seriously it's non reinforced , not "unsupported... Plus, on the target sheet, you "do" weld spots closer to the center by the plates, it's called "pointless" to set in plates that aren't supporting the target sheet... Seriously guys? You're roofers right? Or just people from Texas? I'm not kidding, you remind me of all the people I had to correct and properly teach all the time in Texas...

      I think your the one doing it wrong, plus I’m from Washington and we call it unsupported and I work for a pretty big company that’s the same way we do it.

      I've heard it been called unsupported flashing and I'm from Texas. he does basically the same work as me besides on the target sheet I weld the inside as well not just the 2 inches on the edge
