At first, this was one of those songs that I didn’t really know what to do with. It felt really encouraging to me, but it also felt really confrontational. There is something powerful about blatantly “naming” those things that we all deal with every single day. Money. Appearance. Power. Approval. There are more idols than these…but for this song, it felt like it was time to call these out for what they are. These idols make promises to us that they can’t deliver. When they are our primary pursuit, we tend to cause more harm than good. And knowing that there is something better, is good news. I’m hoping this song reminds us of the most important things in life. Its definitely helped me.

My husband left me this week, in the middle of a pandemic on my birthday, telling me simply that I was no longer "enough". To me, this song was the strength I needed to know that as we age our looks may fade, our strength will leave us, (we are no longer spring chickens), and we no longer push at 50 as we did at 20 for those riches. And it's ok because "We are better than all these things. I am enough." God told me I was enough to even die for. Thank you for these reminders.

I was jamming to secular music out of nowhere this songs starts playing in the middle as an advertisement and I burst out crying. This song speaks to me directly. I'm in my early 20s, and I have a lot of energy, ambition, mystery, anxiety, all of the above. Stressing out about careers and where I'm going to live, who I am going to marry, etc. Those things rule my life too much. I need to be reminded that God has provided everything I need, and it's better than everything that gives me worry.
I didnt really know God until a few years ago, after 1/2 a lifetime of darkness. All of the things you worry about will come! I use to take matters into my own hands and my plans got me nowhere. You're on a good track. He is all you need. Keep it up!

I was recently a victim of fraud. All my money was taken. All my money I had saved for years was gone just like that. I chose to trust God in all this. Even though it is extremely hard, i chose to trust him and Love him more because i know my God will not leave me & provide for my family and I.

To all the comments about Jesus’ name not being in this song, I think that when you have a sincere relationship you just speak things directly to Him and it can make it more intimate. But also there are some songs that avoid using His name because of fear of backlash. I don’t think this is one of those cases and Pat Barrett is clearly not ashamed of Jesus. It all depends where your heart is I think.

I wouldn't have even wasted my time responding to those comments. Based on those people's logic of Jesus' name not being in the song, then we may as well throw away the entire Old Testament which is ALL about Jesus even though you don't see the name Jesus.
