  • This is a short video on traveling by train from Madrid. The Ave trains are the best way to get about. The Atocha station, also known as Puerta de Atocha in Madrid is the main depsrture point. The trains not cheap are modern, fast and clean. MADRID IS USER FRIENDLY went to check out the EXPO ZARAGOZA which is due to begin on June 14, 2008...The trip was under 2 hours.
The difficulty with travelling by train is buying a ticket. MUF suggests you try the web www.renfe.es, but a travel agent would be your best bet... As you´ll see in the video, the machines in the station are impossible, 90% of the time the sale counters are empty or there are long lines. Renfe does put up a last minute counter...but if you have time to plan, a travel agent is the easiest way.

In the description, top right of this page, it says the 4th - that's what I was referring to. I shall be in Zaragoza on the 14th to see the opening of the Expo. It should be amazing. I lived there for a year last year, and it's a great place to live.

The Expo starts on the 14th, not the 4th

A ridiculous comment. Everywhere has its share of immigrants - that's not necessarily a bad thing. Immigrants lend a huge amount to the local economy, and frequently they're prepared to work harder than the locals! Having spent a year living in Aragón, I can assure you it is not barbarous. In fact, Zaragoza has about the lowest crime rate in the whole of Spain. ¡Anímate y ven a la Expo!
