      That's pretty new to me too, typically I use a slow attack (10/30ms) and a fast release on a SSL style bus compressor.

    Bingo on mixing through the limiter. I’ve been doing this for years because when I didn’t, I could never get real world final levels accurate. After getting the masters back things were off. Limiters effect the mix more than you might think. Great video mate. 🤘🏻

    I've watched other videos on UA-cam of guys demonstrating how to mix and none of them are as articulate and helpful as Nolly. I trust every word he says and trust that his advice WILL improve my mixes. Keep doing what you're doing Nolly! I'm gonna go buy GGD today. No more putting it off.     Also guys just in case it wasn’t made clear in the video, up to the bus compressor in the ‘master bus’ section (where he talks about the rolling off the low end of the compressor) is just an instrumental bus.
    Then the tape machine and limiting are on the stereo output. If you run the vocals through a bus compressor with the instruments you’ll have to do a lot of automation as the vocals can get unnaturally squashed.

    great tip on bouncing track to audio, in game dev we consolidate art mix down in a similar way,,,if the source gets corrupt for some reson we still have the have the next best usable step. We also have huge data back up storage most people dont have

    This is one of the most informative videos out there. I am currently mixing one of my tracks and follow all the steps Nolly follows. I am so impressed by the difference it makes.       I'm using Slate Drums, but as far as the plug ins he is using, you can do this with even your stock plug-ins and get the same result. His steps are pretty clear and are versatile for any plug in.

    Damn. I actually like the idea of a top down approach. I've been trying to mix an atropos cover I did with GGD, and what I'm finding is as soon as I put anything on the master bus to get it near unity, it can change the entire composition of my mix. Probably because I am not setting things right but even still.

    Great video i disagree with the fast attack fast compression on the Master Bus since the mix sounds pretty chocked with your A/B comparisons. There are other nice ways of controlling the snare volume without pocking out.
