    I have a tomato pincushion i marked with a Sharpie into smaller wedge sections. Each section is marked with a needle size I use. Then I have 5 long pins, each eith a flag for one of my machines. I always know what needle is in rach machine without having to pull out my jeweler's loop. I made an ironing station from a snack tray and use the same stram iron you show. It has served me well through shoulder replacement surgery because it is so light weight!

    Thanks for the info from Rita in Pennsylvania. I am the original owner of a Bernina 930 and no matter the fabric from Swiss batiste to vintage upholstery this machne never disappoints.

    Thank you for tip on sewing heavy fabric and strapping. Wish I would have seen it a month ago when I was repairing a bag made out of heavy material thrifted from an old green army duffle bag.

    I have the original My Pad and really like it. The flower-head pin is my reminder of what needle is currently mounted in my machine. This newer pad has many more designations which will be very helpful for those of us who do more than one type of sewing. Thanks for all your helpful videos.

    MY PAD!!!! is an incredible tool. I had a pattern to make my own but never got it done. However, I used to put the needles back in thecase and marking the slot with a sharpy. However with a 570 go through that heavy fabric? I made a removeable table cover for a table. I think the pattern was on Missouri star Quilting.

    Hi I need information about a Bernina 330 that I bought in the UK about 10 years ago.
    I need to sell it and can't seem to find a second hand price.
    The machine hasn't been used much, because I am used to the old Bernina minimatic and Elna SU.
    This modern machine felt so light and I did a lot of sewing on the manual machines and couldn't get used to the light machine.
    The people in your area are so blessed to have you and your shop, because in the UK you buy the machine and no classes.
    I'm South African and in the 70s when I bought my machines, you had a week of very informative lessons.
    I always take a look at all your handy gadgets and information and wish we had that here.
    I would really appreciate it if you could give me info, I paid £600.
    Take care
    Anita

    Is the 790 plus capable of sewing those thick layers? I was thinking of getting a Juki TL to make bags. If the Bernina is capable I won’t bother getting the Juki.

    Can I use a v92 polyester thread? I generally use it on my LZ1 industrial machine for sewing canvas. Little fixes would be great on my 790+ as that is what is set up 90% of the time. I have been concerned that the thread is too thick for the bobbin.

    Hello Mr Jeff. I love your videos. I did make a ironing board like you did awhile back and I do use the little steam iron for quick pressing. I wish you were closer. I live in Colorado Springs. I have a Bernina 770QE. I have a question. I have a Bernina 1630 from 1996. It sews beautifully. But the light behind the screen is dull. Is that fixable and replaced ? And what do you estimate the price would be. Thanks, Carmen Maldonado

      I had a 1360 for 30 years. My motherboard went and the part is no longer available. Went to a 480 and within a year traded it for a 790 plus. Have your dealer or service person check/look at it. Dull screen is how my issue started. Darn good machines.

    Hi Jeff, I have B740 machine and I wonder if you could tell me if there is a way to lenghten the bobbin thread when you pull it to the top. Mine comes up but barely. 1/4 inch maybe.

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Рік тому

      That is the only length it can do. I keep my Bernina tweezers handy to grab that thread.

    Hello Sir, I have a quick question about the 6:00 mark where you told us to not use #69 Nylon thread or it would damage our homeowner machine. I need to know why because that is my preferred thread. I have an early 80s vintage Kenmore 158.15251 that I use Strong bond Tex 70 Nylon thread. The machine favors that over all my standard polyester threads of every brand. I just tried it on 9 layers of NYCO 50/50 cotton and nylon mil grade fabric. I bought the Strongbond heavy nylon for backpack construction using 500 D Cordura. Can you kindly tell me if there's a particular reason why I should not use it anymore? Thank you very much sir for the great ideas!
    🪡🧵🙂👍

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Рік тому +1

      Most sewist do not know how to adjust tension for 69 bonded thread, sounds like you are fine. Continue as you are Kenmore old styles are tough

    • @preacherman9018
      @preacherman9018 Рік тому

      Thanks for the response. I was concerned. Yes, the tension top and bobbin is different for it over the standard threads. It was a learning curve but usually happy with the results.
      BTW, I had to buy the manual and replace a couple of parts on my ex girlfriend's Bernina. I was extremely impressed with the precision of her machine. It was an extremely nice work of engineering. It's very generous of you to provide such valuable information.
      May the Lord bless you!
