    Your work is always beautiful and well done. I wish I had someone to teach me 30 or so years ago when I was first making jewelry. It's too hard on my hands now with arthritis.

    Thank you for all you are doing for us. This is great! Do you ever wrap teardrops or triangles?? I have made many of them but need ideas on how to even start them? Thank you again!

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I love teardrops, so I have many tutorials on those, also I do have a tutorial for triangle. Also, this tutorial (that you left comment on) can be done with teardrop if you position it point down.

    Beautiful tutorial 💚💚💚 have you found anywhere in Australia to buy wire, shipping from overseas is so expensive since covid, I’d only want a small quantity to have a try.

    Very nice! You use dead soft. Why not half-hard? Also, what wire would you recommend if I want to make it with a silver color instead of copper color? Dead soft Silverplated? Thanks!

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      I've tried half hard but it was extremely hard and I couldn't really bend it. For silver I use dead soft sterling silver wire from www.riogrande.com

    Hey Oxana. I'm torn at oxidizing my current piece (made with raw copper). If I don't, what is the care of the copper or is it a must that I oxidize?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      It is just for looks, you do not have to do it. Either way copper gets darker over time and needs to be cleaned

  • @darkraven1966
    @darkraven1966 2 роки тому

    I'd like to know do you oxidize the copper after or do you seal it in some way? I'm pretty sure the copper that you buy is raw copper, I'm just not sure what you do with it when you're fully finished because it will oxidize do you just let it naturally oxidize?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +1

      I do oxidize it using liver of sulfur, because I like the dark look of it. I do not seal it, so it does need to be cleaned and polished periodically just like silver

      @@OxanaCrafts So you put the whole pendant with the stone in the liver of sulfer? It doesn't damage the stone? Thanks for your help.

    Are your tools coated with something? Mine always leaves marks and it drives me crazy lol.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому

      They are not coated, I use sandpaper to get out the marks, I have a video on it.

    I’ve tried to do this but it makes my hands hurt a lot. I do make beaded cabochons and that doesn’t make them hurt as much. Do you have any tips or tricks? I mostly gave up and just buy them from you. Lol

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  2 роки тому +2

      Perhaps you can start of slowly and just do a little bit each day until you build up the muscles in your hands. Use your tools as much as possible instead of hands. Also, make sure the wire is dead soft. The thinner the wire the easier it is to bend so smaller pendants that use thinner wire will be easier on the hands.

      @@OxanaCrafts great info thank you. My first wire is so heavy I could wrap a moose. I like the idea of using lighter wire.
      Have a wonderful day.
