Think about the fact that max was only 1 1/2 years older than Raul Rosas Jr. when he joined UFC. He was SOOOOO young. What this dude has accomplished is incredible. He is still young. Definitely still in his prime.
If max drops one to Allen that’ll suck. It seems like shits moving so fast and longevity of these guys careers might be getting shorter and shorter as the sport grows.
Max had years of war on him. He is an old 31 year old when it comes to fighting.

I am a fan of both Volk and Max, but Max has DEFINITELY fought the better schedule. And by the time Max and Volk fought, Max had been through so many wars. He, not Conor, was probably the one that finished Aldo’s run for good… MENTALLY.
Also… Volk fought cans until he was about 17-18 fights into his career, while Max fought Poirier in the UFC in his FIFTH PRO FIGHT! 😮
By his 10th fight, he had already fought Poirier, Leonard Garcia, Dennis Bermudez, and Conor.
Add in a run that includes Cub, Charles Oliveira, Jeremy Stephens, Ricardo Lamas, Anthony Pettis, Aldo x2, Ortega, Poirier (AGAIN), Frankie Edgar, Kattar, Yair, and Volk x3 (ALL OF THOSE I JUST LISTED IN A ROW!), and you can easily see who has the better resume.
Volk’s best wins outside of Max are Zombie, Ortega, and the ghosts of Mendes and Aldo, the latter of whom he decisioned.
Styles make fights, and Max doesn’t match up well against Volk. But take a look at each fighter’s best performances OUTSIDE of their three fights, and tell me whose are better?

Max is right he should be inspired by Izzy. Max got robbed at least 1 fight in their first 2 some even say Max won both, just like how Izzy was robbed their their first fight. Even though their last 2 fights he got smoked he still brought it to Periera and that’s what Max has gotta do too with Volk but man Alex on a different level right now.
