- I start on my birthday present a Roden Junkers D.I WWI monoplane. It's a great kit and beautifully engineered as I show in my box open and kit review. Then the build begins with pre-painting of the parts.

I just bought Roden LaGG 3 in 1/72. I didn't expect it to be so nice detailed. I will buy more for sure.
They can be surprisingly nice kits
Happy birthday Harry. The corrugations on this plane remind me of the Junkers JU 52.
Thanks and yes thats how they built them.. strong and like a golf ball aerodynamic.
Lovely kit! Awesome how you can paint it on the sprue like that, that makes things much easier.. Happy Birthday Harry!
Well its a theory for now.. once assembly starts we will see if my concept works.
Happy Birthday Harry! I like this kit looks fine and like yourself I think that corrugation is going to be fun to work with! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Yip I’m going buy one of these too.
Thanks and from my research Roden did a good job of planning the assembly so you can join the corrugated panels easily.. well lets hope so... decals however could be a challenge
Looks interesting Harry. Gotta say them pilots in the early days really had a brass pair flying up there! Happy Birthday too :)
Thanks for the birthday wishes
It's amazing that it could fly. Looks like it would fight you the whole time in the air. Very interesting kit.
It was a first
Happy Birthday Harry.. Lovely little kit all my cat gives me is dirty dead mices ... :-) J.
Thanks.. yes Bask tried that and I put said dead Micky in the rubbish bin... she never did it again!
Happy birthday!
Thanks Mike

Thanks, I can't wait to get it made but knew there was too much to do before the weekend and our Model Club Meeting. So I quickly finished the Spaghetti Plane instead.
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Harry Houdini,
Happy Birthday to you.
Many happy returns to you Harry, 21 again? I am the big 5-0 (fifty years old) later this month, but it's just a number and doesn't really mean anything other than the nice presents that I am hoping for LOL.

I noticed that recently began to gain popularity the theme of the first world war, and this is good) Thanks, Harry, for the great review))) (Sorry for my English if I make mistakes) Happy Birthday!)
Thanks. I always liked the old aircraft, tanks and ships from that period.

No roads in the sky matey!
Too true!
Belated Birthday greetings to Harry
Thank you.. now you know the date I expect a card in 2017!
You had better send me a reminder - I will have slept until your next birthday and not all in one stretch (I hope)
Hiccy Burpday, Harry! If you can't have a good day, have a great day! Ps Banjo! Banjo! Banjo! ......
Okay I will dust off the Banjo and do some plucking!
My cat just sleeps all day and wants food. He never buys anything for me. He does lie outside and guard the model kits that the postman leaves for me while I'm at work so I guess I should be happy.
Guard Cat!
G'day haha Happy Birthday Harry and see Bask did get you a great present. The Junkers D.1 was like you said the only WW1 full metal fighter along with the J.1 . Roden kits are nice for detail but have many fit issues according to other modellers so be warned. Roden do some interesting WW1 aircraft, the first and only kit Ive got in the stash of Roden is a D.H.9 Ambulance (I know I was surprised, I'll try and send you a linkwww.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234915710-de-havilland-dh9-ambulance/
Wow an Ambulance.. very interesting
You are going to have trouble with the decals on the corrugated surface. Otherwise it is a great kit.
Actually using Tamiya Mark Fit they went down fine. However I stencilled and airbrushed the ones on the fuselage. See the rest of my build series.
@@HarryHoudiniModels Sorry, Harry. this popped up on my feed and I assumed it was new...
No probs.. old like me....
@@HarryHoudiniModels 66, hoping for 200, so I can complete my stash...
You and me both... I worked my stash limit on a build rate of 20 a year, but life just got busy, so less than one a month getting done now. I need an assistant!
