I liked Brad better. The reason? He wasn't intentionally a villain. He was actually a good guy. He was just born with something he couldn't control, and it just had to be something that was bad for Sabrina and Dreama. Libby, on the other hand, was intentionally a jerk for no reason.
The idea was there but it was just badly misused. They foreshadowed the mouse thing many times, then it happened in one episode, and then the witch gene disappeared forever.
@@teamsteed1 I didn't miss either of them. I didn't like Libby at all. Valerie was okay but I liked Dreama better, and then I liked Miles and Roxie (but not Morgan) better than Valerie.
@@teamsteed1 To their defense, they did not vanish without explanation. One of them is canonically a year older than Sabrina, and would not be there in her senior year anyway. They re-cast Sabrina's father. He used to be played by Robby Benson. Now he's played by... someone else. Why they did this, I don't know. Why they also re-cast her mother, I don't know that either.
Presumably they couldn't get Robby Benson back because he was busy or didn't want him back. There's no point speculating, sitcoms have to recast minor parts all the time. Her dad here is the same actor as in the series finale though, at least.
Honestly they really should have explored more why Sabrina can’t live with her father, they sort of hand wave it away but with magic there really isn’t much excuse
She technically could, but he is a busy man and her powers didn't manifest yet, so they sent her to live with her aunts until she did. We got the premise of the show because that's the premise of Sabrina's character in most adaptations, her living with her aunts and magic cat Salem. Afterwards, he now can take her in, but if he's buried in work, she'll need actual emotional support and availability, which Zelda and Hilda provide by being home for her after school, active adult supervision (especially since she can't see her mom anymore).
when a witch turns sixteen, she has to be handed over to magical trainers which was her aunts. Witches can't be trained by their parents to use magic or their witches liscence. She was still allowed to see her dad, it was her mum she wasn't allowed to see because her mum is a mortal. If Sabrina sees her mum, her mum is turned into a ball of wax. it was a punishment from the witches council for having the audacity to have a warlock's child, especially one as high ranking and reputable as Edward [her dad]
Her Dad with a demanding job dealing with international witch crisis. I had friends who would only see one set of parents on school vacations cause they had demanding jobs. Sabrina needed structure so that why sees with her aunts. She can live with her Dad but he would always be away. Like at the end of the episode the Dad says she is welcome to stay with Gayle but she barely knows her and she has structure in Westbridge
Unpopular opinion: Sabrina's dad was a deadbeat. He left his daughter with his sisters to go gallivanting in the Other Realm when she needed him the most (I.e. when she was right about to come into her powers and would start studying for her witch license). Now when she has her powers, knows how to use them, and has a license, he misses her? Deadbeat!
Deadbeat? Are you insane? He does A LOT of work. That's why he doesn't have time for Sabrina. That was why he left her with her aunts, so she'd live with people who could be home for her

I wish they did more witch hunter stuff, but I am happy to watch a tv show that did confront witch hunters very well. Sabrina might have been too perky for AHS Coven.
Seems many people feel that way, but the college seasons are so nostalgic for me! I used to watch the show in high school and seeing Sabrina "grow up" in college was brand new for me. Even now 5 and 6 have a special place in my heart.
I enjoyed the college years to I missed some of the high school characters but it’s realistic that not everyone ends up at the same college and it’s good that Sabrina other experiences with guys since the council has the bowl of wax rule. I don't see what all the fuss is about. They can teleport back and forth and see each other every day. 🙂
Yes but it's still going to be a visit now and then, if you're not busy. It's not the same as living with someone.
@@fernandobanda5734 That's the hard part about living away from certain family members! You rarely get to see the extended family!
