I always find the pre-christmas food shop SO FLIPPIN INTERESTING!. My mother has always started holiday prep before Thanksgiving so if she's making stuffing she makes enough cornbread for christmas and then freezes the portion, makes the sweet potato mash and freezes the christmas portion, makes enough sweet potato pies for Thanksgiving, Christmas AND New Years, etc. I think I shop more like you, getting food for the festive week while she wants nothing to do with holiday food unless its the day and maybe 2 days afterwards. LOL
