The lack of proper planning and preparation from my fellow Brits who want to emigrate is rather concerning. There is a fundamental difference between living temporarily in another country compared to settling on a permanent basis.
If the toilet doesn't flush in your house/flat in Turkey or if the circuit breaker keeps triggering you are not going to be able to call a tradesman and explain what needs to be done. Let alone negotiate a sensible price. Moving permanently to another country is not simply an extended holiday. You have to be able to negotiate the day to day challenges of life. Not being able to speak the language will be a serious hindrance.
As for earning a living I have yet to see a realistic and workable plan. Everyone continues to earn a living from the UK but work remotely. That isn't a permanent solution. To emigrate properly you'd need to work in the country. A typical example would be Brits that move to Australia. They live and work in Australia.
Turkey has recently tightened its immigration rules so it's not that easy to get a residency visa. Likewise the 'Malaysia My Second Home' (MM2H) visa rules require substantial deposits to get a visa.
In my view the reason for leaving the UK is because you don't feel a part of wider British society. By moving to a Muslim country you feel that you'll belong. You won't. We are a minority and remain so wherever we move. Keep a sense of realism. Do your homework thoroughly and make sure you know exactly what you are doing.

Some good points but people in tech can work remotely for an indefinite time. Moving to Pakistan and working for Western clients remotely seems workable to me, but there are two main caveats. Firstly, you have to insulate yourself from Pakistan's highly toxic politics. And secondly, you have to realize your old family relationships are dead now and you need to build a new social network of your own. Your parents and grandparent's relatives see you as nothing but a money till and are the biggest danger you face there.

"You need to be able to call a tradesman and explain what needs to be done" now come on really, what about our parents and grandparents who moved to the UK, they had greater struggles and yet managed and even thrived..... Also we do have apps for that now to translate and you know you can always learn the language or just the basics.
Language is definitely a barrier we didn't want to deal with so we moved to Pakistan but we know an expat family here from the UK the husband is Iraqi Brit not a word of Urdu (although picking up) the wife's Pakistani Brit but can't speak Urdu although understands and kids again speak English and Arabic. They got by in DHA for 2 yrs no problem but have moved more remote past 2 yrs and getting their house built by local builders doing all the normal things getting by fine, where there's a will there's a way brother.

Sim card card be obtained through authorised agents based on your micop card. Only a 5 minutes process. If you don't have NICOP then k believe a passport should be suffice but will need to check. Jazz Sims generally are a good choice in terms of network coverage and cost. For example U can subscribe to a package 25gb and minutes for abt & 3.50.

Malaysia is my pick definitely but I'm definitely good moving to Turkey especially Istanbul as well. As for Pakistan, maybe...although as a expat I do prefer other places. I would prefer to move from the UK though - other places I would consider are Doha and Abu Dhabi. The brother mentioned Malaysia in the video and he is right about the distance but they have good health care and their English proficiency is wonderful. I agree about cost of living in Pakistan because it is cheaper but I would choose Indonesia myself. Islamabad was voted the second most beautiful capital in the world and if I were to choose Pakistan, it would be Islamabad

Malaysia is also my top pick (of course, I'd love to get the benefits of living in a wealthy but closed off nation like Brunei or the Gulf states, but I'm going to be realistic). Turkey is difficult due to the Lira inflation. But still, being in the West means we can (in theory) set up a source of income to sustain ourselves, no matter where we go. May Allah make it easy for us.

@@Qoral-ef5rz Malaysia ticks all the boxes for me and it is an amazing country with beautiful beaches, amazing waterfalls, jungles, diversity, amazing masjids (and temples), wonderful cities, beautiful tropical islands, incredible people. I went to Brunei when I did visit the Borneo part of Malaysia and it is a small country with not much to do. Turkey would be good for British Muslims like us actually and it does have so many great things to see there but they can be a bit unfriendly at times. Of all the Gulf states, I would actually choose Qatar over UAE any day even though I love Abu Dhabi. Indonesia is a great country and very cheap compared to Malaysia but it does suffer with pollution in some parts and city of Jakarta is sinking apparently.
Even Southern Thailand is a good option as there are a lot of Muslims there and Bangkok has lots of masjids too.

You can comfortably live in Pakistan if you were earning in foreign currency. Even then you have to still live and adapt to the Pakistani environment and lifestyle. This can include the unstable political climate, the never ending electrical load shedding, the unpredictable inflation, and the brutal summers you have to bear with are tough..especially with loadshedding .
    1) Any time there is an election or something serious protests etc happening, then expect phone service to shut off and also internet. This was going on just last year during the whole Imran khan chase lol, social media had to be shut down because it was showing a different story than the traditional media outlets.
    2) Inflation- Prices have gone up drastically and have shown no signs of getting any better either. From fruits/vegetables, electricity bills, and even gas/petrol prices. A price for one product can be raised 3x within a year or less it's insane.
    3) Corruption- The government is extremely corrupt and gets away with what it pleases as right, however the lower level everyday man is just as corrupt. From the tire shop guy to the man selling you bad fruit, to even public transportation. Any type of work you can think of will involve corruption, and the reason being is they are allowed to do so without any sort of check and balance system. To live the everyday life you have to understand all of the corrupt system network, shortcuts and any thing that will help you get the job done. For eg: You can go for a simple birth certificate document from one gov building but only to be sent to another , wait in line there to only be told that can't be handled and need to go back to the original building. Take you complaint there then get it done faster by arguing and fighting for a simple piece of paper. Something that could have been even automated or even done online( which is a whole other topic) is being taken ages to do due to laziness and corruption. Oh and that building was in this very same Islamabad, the same Islamabad which doesn't allow motorcycles to go through some roads but will let expensive looking cars go right on.
    4) Weather- Now the weather in Pakistan can get both extremely hot and cold as well. If you are in any city within Punjab you will be experiencing some really hot summers, so hot that your clothes get drenched in sweat every day. Punjab and Sindh province both have very high temperature areas, only place I could think of are the northern areas which might have cooler weather. But also that area gets ext cold during winter and heavy snow too. Not much oceanside to escape to unless you are living in the southern side( sindh, karachi etc) so citizens of Punjab mostly cool down in nearby cooler cities ( murree ) or just stay inside with the ac on lol.
    5) Health- I’m talking about general health issues which are bound to happen to any new paki bringing that fresh blood. Due to so much pollution within cities , whether it’s air or landfill pollution it’s just a lot. So many open sewers that are bringing in viruses, bugs, mosquitoes, and just general sickness is countless. Now not all cities are completely filthy but they’re scattered around enough to not be spotless clean either if that makes any sense. Islamabad for eg is one of the only spotless cities throughout the entire country and they’ve kept it that way with so many regulations, shows you that it can be done within the whole country too if gov actually cared. The northern area cities are also pretty clean and have some of the best weather too without any pollution or smog. So many people get sick just by the water itself or from something they ate out in the market. You really have to be extra cautious while eating outside at restaurants and street food spots. I barely ever vomit when I’m in the USA but just during my 2023 visit I vomited after eating a few plums. Don't know whether they were not ripe enough or it was due to weather or eating them quickly, but it was something lol. I also see a lot of people there have sugar or high blood pressure even in their 30’s or 40’s which is just mad. Water is a big issue as well even inside major cities like Islamabad or Rawalpindi, I’m talking about water that comes for general use not even drinking water. We had water issues in pindi and murree, we would have to wait for water to come every third day then had to fill up tons of bottles just to use for cooking or using the bathroom, it was madness, it’s something we in the west take for granted very easily. Funny enough in my gaon area they get unlimited water as it was coming directly through the mountain. Oh and you’re bound to have a stomach ache every now and then for sure, and they are the worst kinds too
    6) Jobs- Earning in foreign currency is great but not sure if that is a permanent solution to live there indefinitely. Feel like eventually you would have to start earning locally. It’s funny because most of my school time friends/family I know have left the country to pursue work in the west. Dunya gol hai bhai

Without the two changes of population, and removing the religion from Pakistani government, Pakistan can never succeed. Anyone can accuse a non-Muslim of blasphemy, and can put them in jail, ruining their life.

Afghanistan has a Strict Sharia law. But I don't understand why Pakistani government are afraid to invite the experts - Taliban to help implement Sharia law in Pakistan. Soon we hope Sharia law is imposed on Pakistan, reinforcing Islam. But then, one has to forget computers, internet, electronics, peace of mind and power and abide by the rules of Taliban once Sharia is enforced in Pakistan. It will happen soon. Insallah.

Huge mistake to return to Pakistan. You will regret it. Everything is broken. There is no rule of law. Lawlessness and corruption are everywhere. You will not be safe. No one is safe. There is no political stability. Economy is the worst. The country is bankrupt. No foreign or domestic investors find Pakistan suitable. Both public and private education systems are primitive. Do not waste your time and money in Pakistan. You will not be able to adjust to the country. Your children will not forgive you if you bring them to Pakistan. Just an advice. Think about it.

It's not a good sign that these regressive people are coming to Pakistan to exploit poor people and flaunt their pounds.
They're more extreme in religion than the average Pakistani, not different than the settlers in Israel whom they critise the most.
As you can see, everyone is wearing beards, women in burqa, and trying to teach us religion.
They destroyed their own countries and now want sharia law in Pakistan.
They've no loyalty to any country. Pakistani govt. should stop giving people nationality just because someone's grandparents were from Pakistan and left half a century ago.
My father was born in colonial India. Can I claim Indian citizenship? Of course not.

Secularism is a Christian solution to a Christian problem. The Muslims had no issue with developing in science and technology, while governing according to the Shariah. Why would Allah reveal the Shariah if not for us to govern according to its tenets?
But yes, limiting and punishing things like allegations of blasphemy without proof is necessary.
