Surprisingly, I love the Philippine foods. After working with hundreds of Phillipine nurses I got to like their foods and their work ethics.

I lived in the Philippines for 6 years, arrived in 2012 first in Manila (Pasay City) and later in the province Bacolod City..In my opinion most of the black foreigners are Black Americans then Africans mostly from Nigeria...the black people of the Philippines are called the Aeta and rightly so are black, they came to the Philippines centuries ago from areas around the Solomon Islands and Fiji Islands in the South Seas. After, came the Malays from Malaysia....later on the Spanish colonised the islands and the Philippines was named after the Spanish King Phillip..during the 300 years of colonialism...many of the Malays and Aetas were mixed with Spanish settlers thus producing a country of people with various shades of brown melanine skin..Many Filipinos have very light skin as well. When I lived over there, I never experienced anything negative from the people because I was a Jamaican as a matter of fact Jamaicans are well liked over there I didn´t have any problem with the food there either, and sometimes I made Jamaican dishes like stew peas and jerk chicken,( I had my nephew send me jerk seasoning from London) along with the spices I could´nt get locally...also there are countless food outlets in the food court in the malls that serve foods from all over Asia. There was a Jamaican who opened a restaurant in the city of Dumaguete called "Jamrock Cafe" don´t know if it´s still operational as the pandemic killed many businesses. I have seen breadfruit trees in the province where I used to live, also an abundance of sugarcane and mangoes are grown locally. Clearly this gentleman has a large interaction with the local population in remote areas....big up to him and family..a very interesting story, will be going back there in late August.

I am a Trinidadian who lived and studied in the Philippines for a number of years, and everything this guy said is absolutely true. The original Filipinos are black and are called negritos. Also, the philippines also make a dish that is similar to the Jamaican escovitch and it is called escabeche. Like your guest, i am also a Seventh Day Adventist. I have been to the Philippines more times than I can count the fingers on both hands, and I love it. That young man is on point with every thing. Also, the Philippines is more developed and modern than all the islands in the Caribbean especially in modern manila. There is a place named Makati, and you'd think that you are in midtown Manhattan. I would love to communicate with your Davin, since we are both SDA and I studied there at Adventist University of the P,hilippines which I know he knows. I also travel over there to visit from time to time, especially when I was studying. I did my doctorate in public health over there. I love the Philippines and can live there. Thank you for this video, Sir.

The color of Filipino is brown, you say Filipino is negrito..! Explain it why Filipinos are Negritos..?! Where Negritos come from.? When Philippines under Spanish colony, Spain vs. USA, Negritos from Africa is slave by american, negro join american to fight against Spain, then Filipino war against America, the Negritos left american to join Filipino soldiers to america. that's why Negritos begins to spreading to Philippines anywhere in the mountains of Luzon. Thrs no asian Negritos here in Asia. 💀🇵🇭⚔️👍

People here are definitely more friendly and welcoming that in other Asian counties I have visited. It's truly an adjustment when they stand staring at me. Kamayan is the term for eating with your hands. Definitely, a culture shock for me when eating with friends. Lol

As a tourist/working here, there are lots of misconceptions about Filipinos. People should visit and not be put off by the news. I love it here and even thinking of moving.

I was born in Kingston Jamaica and I grew up eating alot of Rice and so I always say kingstonian love rice because many parents had to work and when they come home from work in the evening rice is the quickest thing to cook. I am a SDA who is a herbivore and I love to add rice to my cooked beans soup just as the philippnos do. I will never get tired of rice, l love Basmatic rice.

You really just have to go to the Philippines and explore for yourself. Spend time in Manila, then Cebu and then Cagayan de Oro. From there you can visit provinces that surrounds. Just an insight, Filipino food translates well to Jamaican food. We have oxtail, chicken, fish (we even have version of escovich) and etc dishes. You will love the people. Must come. My good co-worker friend in the US is Jamaican and his Father is the Honorary Philippine Consolate Head in Kingston. Plan your trip Now! Best time to go and experience the culture is of course December but April May is good too.
