E39s are nice cars. I had a manual 525i for 13 years which I sold at around 150k miles. It had fabric sports seats which do not age like leather which often looks very worn after many miles. In Europe they suffer from rust in a few places. The panel below the rear number plate hidden by the bumper has two factory holes plugged with rubber bungs. They all rust here so best to take off bumper and check to stop the corrosion spreading. Also worth checking around the two holes on the boot lid where the number plate lights are fitted. Another place is the fuel filler well which is easy to fix. The radiator has a plastic part which splits with age. On mine at 150k the shocks were badly worn. The good handling is down to the complex suspension - bushes wear on the links. On mine the anti-roll bar links had to be changed. The air conditioning system is effective and reliable. However a resistor that controls the fan speed fails, but is easy to replace. The petrol engines are reliable but cam/crank position sensors can fail causing intermittent engine stops. Also the alternator and air con belt tensioner pulley wears and makes loud screeching noises. There was a recall on the electric fan that cools the air con condenser. My new fan failed after a few years due to the power wire not being secured properly and chaffing causing it to break. I sold mine after the ABS control unit failed which was too costly a repair to justify.
Did this kid just say that these cars aren’t reliable? Not true at all, they have their flaws just like any other car but overall the important components (like the engine and transmission) are very reliable.
@@jacobkirby5344 those are clearly not 5series sideskirts. it looks like 3 series sides with 540 bumpers. i would never ever call it an m5 bumper simply because he threw an M badge on the trunk lid smh..
are you sure? i realize most people cant comprehend the diff between sport and m-sport package. i decoded my 525 and i have sport package but i realize its not an actual m-sport model. i DO have some shadowline trim im going to swap the gaudy chrome out with tho :-)
Son e39 is the most reliable series oh so much false information... but fine your just a kid And never do a review on acceleration with a cold engine....

i dont believe there is a body kit. it just seems like the only difference than a normal 530i is it has a m5 bumper on it
