@@jingojango Pioneered his music scene for years, off his own record label as well. one of only a few English artists to have successful features with American rappers. Made massive moves in fashion, to name a few things. Been popular since 2006/2007. I'm not sure how old you are so maybe you missed a fair bit of what Skepta has done for his industry. I'm no mega fan, just saying it like it is.
@@jingojango technically yes for the UK culture he's solidified, because of what he did outside of albums too and pushing the scene, one of the few who helped get it noticed by drake and ASAP eventually and he could retire a legend, better than some artists who do too much and tarnish their own legacy by not stepping away at right time
@@jingojango and he's done stuff outside of making just music, fashion, directing, this guy put in work especially coming from the era when the scene was just a wasteland, he was one of the first people to do this and shotting DVDs or to get put on you had to rely on physical album sales, radio or TV, you could argue without skepta the scene would not be as big or look the same as it does today and without grime, we'd still be listening to US rap and have no drill or these other genres that have transpired, he's an OG who put UK on the map
