Individually Solar, Hwasa and Wheein have such beautiful voices but when they sing together it just blows my mind. And Moonbyul's perfectly inserted rapping adds so much to the group dynamic. I am so glad I discovered Mamamoo.

The rest of the song is fantastic as it is, but Hwasa's breathy singing voice on those certain lines... it just gives me chills. Girl is absolutely unreal.
Yeah, the downside is that ballads by K-pop groups don't tend to do as well commercially and being from a small company where they are currently the primary earner, it's important for them to generally have something that will sell and chart well, win music shows, and get music festivals psyched to book them. They do the occasional ballad, but mostly they are B sides of a single or deep cuts from their albums. Red Velvet is another girl group with some great ballads as that group sings harmonies well too, but SM couldn't get them to chart as well in the early years of the group and pretty much just goes with dance-pop now as that is what seems to chart and sell the best. Mamamoo is kind of in the same boat, but being at a much smaller company it is even more critical that they make good money on a single. SM can afford to break even on a single or take a small loss to prove an artistic point. RBW can't yet. Now if Oneus and Onewe do well and their next girl group that is getting close to debut, RBW might have a little more freedom to experiment musically with Mamamoo.

Watching their performances in immortal songs made me realize that they always had the potential to be one of the amazing gg groups. They might be not that popular to internationals but they are very well known because of their vocal skills. I’m so proud to see them grow and what they have achieved this 2020. Each of them got to do their solo and get to make their own music. Will always be hoping to see more music from MAMAMOO.

Their vocals are so perfectly matched that when they all sing high notes, it's completely harmonic. Wheein's crystal clear high notes cut straight through to even out the lower more gutteral tones of Hwasa and Solar though Solar is a little higher in pitch in volume that it doesn't clash either. When Moonbyul joins in, it's to stabilise the high notes to keep it from being too chaotic by bringing in her moderating tone. It's beautiful and I don't know the correct terminology for this but this is how I view it.

This performance sealed the deal for me being a moomoo. I was amazed by their You're the Best performance that I first saw before this but being as old as I am, songs like this speak more to me. No fancy costums, no fancy make-up... in fact when looking at their attire they look as if they walked in from the street. No big dance act or flashy visuals, just 4 ladies with a mike each with a live band singing in a language I don't understand. Nonetheless, they still hit me right in the 'feels' even when not reading the sub's (side note, props for the original rap, if you didn't know better you would think that it was part of the original)

Byul actually has a really beautiful lower register, they should really utilize her more as a vocalist, she may not be a belter, but they sleepin on her talents. But her rapping though, damn.. it's so hard to find female rappers with her sort of, vibe/flow I guess? she has so much talent, they all do, like wow, they lucked the hell out with this group, just.. wow. I never liked kpop before, but there's really just no way around liking them, from vocals and performance to personality and chemistry, they have mastered all trades. currently binging mamamoo immortal songs performances in quarantine... this one is one of my favorites and watching it again brings back so many good memories.. i remember when they were still relatively small fame wise years ago.. watching youtube videos of their fan meetups outside in a courtyard where it was a quite small gathering and they would hand out sandwiches to the fans.. they’re just as humble, and soso talented. they deserve the popularity they have now and i’m glad they’re prospering !!

Wheein and Hwasa are high school frds, and they have auditioned tgt and finally debut in the same group. mamamoo always do their choreography together including their performances on immortal songs. moonbyul write her rap parts. solar is good at piano.
I love how Solar hit the high notes, Hwasa blending with her and Wheein just came out singing the line seamlessly. Just like how they did in Decalcomanie.

Watching their performances in immortal songs made me realize that they always had the potential to be one of the amazing gg groups. They might be not that popular to internationals but they are very well known because of their vocal skills. I’m so proud to see them grow and what they have achieved this 2020. Each of them got to do their solo and get to make their own music. Will always be hoping to see more music from MAMAMOO.

I think Moonbyul is a very "special" rapper.Her rap fits in perfectly in any song and it doesn't sound awkward or like it is from another song like it does sometimes with other groups.Idk if she writes hher raps or not but she should go to SMTM...not Unpretty Rapstar.I think she has the skill to win over the guys :))

+Ima Nzurum Moon's first rap part was sublime. It kind of reminded me of MC Sniper's rap feeling.
Their vocals are so perfectly matched that when they all sing high notes, it's completely harmonic. Wheein's crystal clear high notes cut straight through to even out the lower more gutteral tones of Hwasa and Solar though Solar is a little higher in pitch in volume that it doesn't clash either. When Moonbyul joins in, it's to stabilise the high notes to keep it from being too chaotic by bringing in her moderating tone. It's beautiful and I don't know the correct terminology for this but this is how I view it.

Byul actually has a really beautiful lower register, they should really utilize her more as a vocalist, she may not be a belter, but they sleepin on her talents. But her rapping though, damn.. it's so hard to find female rappers with her sort of, vibe/flow I guess? she has so much talent, they all do, like wow, they lucked the hell out with this group, just.. wow. I never liked kpop before, but there's really just no way around liking them, from vocals and performance to personality and chemistry, they have mastered all trades. currently binging mamamoo immortal songs performances in quarantine... this one is one of my favorites and watching it again brings back so many good memories.. i remember when they were still relatively small fame wise years ago.. watching youtube videos of their fan meetups outside in a courtyard where it was a quite small gathering and they would hand out sandwiches to the fans.. they’re just as humble, and soso talented. they deserve the popularity they have now and i’m glad they’re prospering !!
