- Hi, in this video I am going to show you how to prepare binding strips, external and internal book binding.
The size of the pages 20 cm x 20 cm.
The thickness of the polyester batting I use is about 1 cm.

Q: If my fabric is not 100% cotton, will it rip off the same way (straight) as yours? Or... How do I know if I can do that with my fabric ?

can I use ribbon( maybe dotted ribbon) instead of fabric for binding strips?
Hello :)
I have never used ribbon for binding the pages, but I think it is possible to use it. You need just to check up the ribbon width, it should be enough for comfortable and neat binding. :)

It is amazing to me how you just rip the material in such a perfect straight line lol! I can't even cut with scissors in a straight line hehe :P
Squishy Watchbee It is fast, that is for certain. And when ripping long lengths of fabric - the rip is along the grain and you will get a truer straight line. Try it 😉

cutting is neater than ripping

Squishy Watchbee no worries, I am always happy to help. I use fusible interfacing Vilene S320, unfortunately do not know its thickness.
Sviatlana Balybina , ok great. Thank you! I will look for that kind. I have a hard time finding any of this stuff around where I live. I was really surprised, for example, how hard it was to find colorful buttons like animal shaped and such. I think I will have to look online instead. I'm so excited to start experimenting with these busy books.
Squishy Watchbee I prefer to buy online :) Moreover, most of my buttons are from AliExpress, hard felt from Korea :) Yes, sometimes I have to experiment with the materials and have to look something appropriate on the foreign online shops.

Step by step video. Very helpful. So long though. Takes ages to see where we're really going and there's no convo. Got tired of watching pls. You could try fast forward or something for the in betweens. Nice works tho.
