Ive never missed someone I never knew, like I miss this dude. I just finished his book and it left me in a fog for days. Just when you think it can't get worse... His words actually made me deeply mull over my own life and past, and the trail of shit I too, have left behind me. Could've done without that. Can't recommend it more. Rip ol' scratch You we're a fucking maniac at everything, including redemption. Oh yeah great video thank you!
I’m blown away by the beauty of this. This is the music that defined my teenage years. I had a CD of Dust from a used record store. It never gets old. A month after I finished reading Lanegan’s memoir, he passed away. When I closed the book, it was a personal story of pain, suffering and a transformation. It made me believe that anyone can save themselves from the darkest depths. When he passed away, I almost took it as a personal affront lol. I wanted to believe it’s never too late, for anyone, to do what it takes and change.
Please don't ever give up on that belief. One of the many reasons that I identify with Mark so well is that I have also been near death as a result of addiction. I've also lost so much as a result of my own behavior. I've also been to what seemed like the point of no return. And just like Mark moved to California and got sober, I moved to Seattle all the way from Georgia at 38 years old and have been sober ever since. If not for that, I never would have experienced so much life in the past 4 and a half years, including the opportunity to see that amazing performance and meet Mark that night. It's never too late. I promise.
Loving this today. Played 3 times already. I believe he does Strange Religion here too. If I must say so beautiful of course. How I would have loved seeing him and his band LIVE. We can't forget them. They were awesome. I still love watching his young drummer, the one who was with him on Blues Funeral Tour and many others. Ashamed to say I don't know his name. I will have to look it up. And there probably aren't a lot of musicians who could match Jeff Fielder's playing or his dedication to the singer of the band.
Lemme tell ya, I'm in my 50's. I never had a "musical era" - I'm too young for the 60's and 70's. The 80's basically sucked, with few exceptions. When the alternative music era hit in the early 90's, I realized I DID have an era I could identify with. The Screaming Trees, IMHO was the BEST band that came out of that time. I've listened to thousands of albums, and Dust would be #1 on my left on a deserted island list. RIP Mark & Lee. Thanks for the music. This era will never be equalled.
Dust is that one album that will always sound special, easily one of the best albums from 90s, and Halo of Ashes will always be dear to me, its one of the few tracks i had in playlist during booth camp, usually those last 20ish min before u fall asleep
@@BenZen999 I feel like we woulda seen more Trees stuff live if he lived longer. He had since made up with Lee Conner and was gonna include some re-recorded unfinished Trees material on his next record.
@@BenZen999 I got most of the songs. However, the video is poor, but the audio is great.:) This set was special, particularly because he had a string quartet backing him up.
R.I.P. Mark. This will forever be one of my favorite videos I've ever shot. Thank you for everything.
I was just to the left of you that night. Great job.
Times creeping up we next lol
Download this on other stuff to keep it for long time

You're welcome ❤️
Can you imagine the great stuff he'd be doing if he was still with us?
Forever indebted to this man and Trees music
Rest easy
GREAT VERSION MARK!

He swears he didn't like performing Trees stuff but he delivers so fucking well every time.
I miss him so much.
This song was so perfect for that night too. I talked to Jeff Fielder a few weeks ago and he said that was the last time they ever performed it. 😟

🙏💔🙏
This is just fucking fantastic.
Excellent! I was there. Did you get a chance to record the entire set?
No, I just got bits and pieces of the rest of it. I think this was the only full song I got.

@@edwardterry2611 I was there - it was an amazing show. I would love to hear these - did you post them?
