Northeast Ohio Weather: When will wintery weather return?

Your Northeast Ohio weather forecast:
Clouds return tonight with temperatures back in the 30s. Not as windy tonight. Rain returns for New Year's Eve with highs in the mid 40s. This should be all rain through the day.
That changes overnight as temperatures fall back into the 30s, meaning a change to snow. Snow (with some graupel) will become the primary precipitation type for the foreseeable future.
A few snow showers early New Year's Day will transition to more lake effect snow throughout the day as temperatures stay stuck in the 30s. Highest accumulations will be over the Primary Snowbelt.
Below average conditions stick around with highs in the 20s and low 30s. That means lake effect snow will continue to be in the mix. That snow could really add up through the rest of the week. Winds will also be gusty at times, which could lead to blowing and drifting snow.
