@@asosound Yup, just an optical cable and the second unit in standalone mode. The 802 etected the new channels and put them into Totalmix automatically.
I can't get this to work with an RME Babyface wanting to use the Fireface 400 inputs. Does the second device need to be connected to the computer too? or just two ADAT cables talking to each other?
i insist , please talk somewhere about possibilities and limitations between conecting a ff800 and a ff400. this video is almost good...but too quick...its not really clear...we dont know if we do conect with the units on or off, we dont know the right point to turn it on ...both of them or just the conected one...please help....is it to hard? is this company releasing tips and info just for the new products? why? it is such a shame! i have the impression that sell is more important then keep clients ! i love my interfaces, having this trouble for some time...no news...the forum is way too geek for my sound aproach...and i just want to get right info..easy , dont?
thanks you have saved me I had many problems with pro tools using an apollo and a rme now I can use the rme as a preamp adat
Hi! May I ask how you managed it? By using ADAT? I have the same problem.
Fantastic, thank you! FYI these instructions helped me sync a FF800 to a FF802 using your third option - working perfectly!
When you did this. Did you just use adat ?

Awesome 😊
would this essentially be the same if I want to connect a fireface UCX to a fireface UC (standalone)?
