The mother, Suzuyo, now 86 years old, has been working at the restaurant for 63 years and is now in charge of the kettle.
The store has long been a favorite of locals for its udon noodles and rice bowls made with homemade noodles using the same old-fashioned method inherited from the first generation.
The Katsu-don (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice) is even more popular than the udon.
The cut loin of local Chita pork is deep-fried and simmered in a sauce, and the egg is served afterwards, a unique style that has been handed down from the first generation.
The most popular item is the mega katsudon! It is twice as much pork cutlet and rice as a regular katsudon of 800 yen, but the price is only 980 yen!
