Genuine Advise: I've literally watched or heard every TFATK and BTB podcast and some Food Truck. Contrary to what he says, I personally hope Brendan reads the comments. The negative to positive comments ratio is astounding. Brendan would do well to not discount this viral feedback as 'jealous haters with nothing better to do.' It is not that. Feedback is feedback and should never be discounted without measuring its filtered value. Brendan should not just measure his success based on 'how busy' he is. Sure he has stand-up, TFATK, BTB, Food Truck, and random appearances, etc., and yes, this is a phenomenal accomplishment, and more of an accomplishment than most...but he should take heed that this can all change very quickly. What is more is that I feel it could change so quickly, that Brendan and 'his team' may not recognize it AND have a remedy in place quick enough to stop the shut down. He seems all but checked out of BTB....he even says as much...that he is tired of the fight game, shows disinterest...but he should take care here because there are many great fight focused podcasts with hosts who are passionate about the sport and do a great job discussing it. Will Brendan's life end without BTB or a different version that he may do if Showtime grows tired of him? Of course not. But imagine if BTB DOES go away...would Food Truck be close behind? Maybe, maybe not. Sure Brendan will say he does not care, but would he? Consider TFATK....the audience seems vastly leaning on the negative regarding comments...but does a podcast live/die based on comments? No. But it is a clear measure when you combine this data with subscriber/listener growth numbers...you just get a feel that the audience tide is slowly turning on Brendan. Comments about the interrupting guests....seems like a small issue but it is so easily fixed with a little attention. Brendan is clearly not a top shelf comedian but he traffics in that rare talent space and unless he makes adjustments to his ego before his talent reaches the expected entertainment output, he may see smaller crowds coming soon. Yes, his shows sell out now. Yes, he has a big tour coming up and I personally hope all goes perfectly, but because his success is largely driven by the exposure of the podcasts, Brendan should make very sure that he remains 'likable.' This man has experienced a lot of success since leaving fighting. We all know, as does Brendan that he was given a Golden Ticket endorsement by Rogan and others and this is not a bad thing...Rogan is very smart and he saw something in Brendan and gave him an opportunity. Brendan has capitalized on this 'hand up' and that is great. No one goes up on the stage for Brendan...he does this alone and succeeds or fails on his own accord. However, someone close to him would do Brendan a favor and let him know that the difference between a 'success' and a 'failure' in entertainment/broadcasting is a very, very fragile thing. It is like navigating a huge, aircraft carrier...once you get that big machine moving, it is very difficult to change directions or navigate small moves, and often the momentum can run your ship aground if small warnings are not given the attention they deserve. I honestly do not think Brendan would ever fall so far as to be out of a job or homeless to be sure. But I have seen the negativity of commenting audience grow to an alarming rate over the past year and unless he does something to counter these negative comments or remedy these perceived negativetendencies, Brendan could see not a 'fall from grace' but certainly an 'adjustment from grace.'
